Shifting Plans

8.15 A.M.

Back in Aegremonth, Bessie could no longer restrain her heart from breaking as much as it did. Moreso because of Elizabeth having gone missing for so long already. At present, she had a lot of emotions to process; such wanton feelings of guilt..

Because how could she?

How could she have slept so soundly the night of Elizabeth's kidnap?

Why didn't she get a sign at least of something..anything? And then the rains.. That night they'd rushed down in torrents, slapping angrily upon the rooftop to the extent that there was no way to avoid the outside noises from getting filtered down.

Bessie marched up the grounds of the major alley, walking agitatedly as she stabbed her heels against the marbled floor. Her mood had soiled because the search was taking up too long now whereas Elizabeth needed to be found and the kidnappers brought to book and jailed.
