Nostalgic

The horses pulled the cart forward and even more forward atop the bumpy roads. The journey they'd started in a couple of hours seemed now to Victoria like a never ending marathon. Of course, it didn't pose like they were running away from anyone or anything. Even the dread of Gabriel did not cross through her mind at this time. They'd long deserted that part of the world; his world… and even though she tried to suppress it, that pang in her chest kept hitting hard like a hammer banging the head of a nail. She worried for that man, she was very bothered about Gabriel. No one was willing to talk about it when she'd pressed to know his state some two times before now. So, she decided to suck in her concerns.
