Something's Up Pt. 1

Yang POV:

-Shink

I feel the warmth of the sunlight hit me, as I am awakened by the sound of the curtains being opened. I open my eyes a hair, but the sunlight kept me from seeing anything. With a strong pull to return to sleep, I turn my body to face away from the light, but, it seems, that this, unfortunately, did not go unnoticed.

"Morning, Blake. Morning, Yang," I hear Sapph call out from behind me.

Hmn? Morning, Huh. I guess I should get up. Maybe…...

No, no, gotta get up.

I slowly open my eyes, and a blurry white wall slowly comes into focus as my eyesight gradually adapts to the sunlight.

Still quite groggy, I shift into lying on my back once again. With the ceiling now eclipsing my vision, I slowly build the willpower to get out of bed. Consciousness steadily returns to me, but I decided to expedite the process.

"Ungg," I let out as I stretch by arching my back and pushing my arms above my shoulders.

After my stretch, a weird feeling washes over me. Did I forget something?

Oh, right! Sapph. She already greeted me.

With that realization, I turn onto my right shoulder and see the loveable fox herself looking at me with that bright smile on her face. I watch as her ears occasionally twitch, and her tail softly flows left and right.

"Morning Sapph," I greet.

Her smile seems to get a little brighter, and her fox-like appendages don't betray that sentiment. I silently chuckle at her childlike glee, but that sentiment is stifled as I realize that she is already dressed.

Did she wake up early again?

I mentally frown as I pull myself off the bed and climb down the ladder. As I walk to the closet my thoughts begin to wander.

I don't like this. It wouldn't bother me if she always woke up that early. I would just chalk it up to habit if that was the case, but it only happens occasionally. And whenever asked, she just brushes it off with a half-hearted reply. I can't help but think that something more is happening that she is not talking about.

Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

"Haaah," I lightly sigh as I glance back at Sapphire. A smile is brought back to my face as I watch as she tries to wake up Blake. She may act exasperated, but I know she looks forward to this in the morning. The disappointment she has show when it doesn't happen is proof of that.

She enjoys acting the part of an older sister even if she is younger than everyone, except, maybe, Ruby. When is Sapph's birthday anyway? I mean, she has told us her age, 15, but she never told us the day. I'll have to ask her later.

Well, I should start getting ready.

I shook off my distractions and finished walking to the closet, but, just as I opened the door, I heard Sapph speak.

"Hey, guys. Since I'm already dressed, I am gonna get us some drinks. I'll be right back," she said without bothering to wait for a reply.

She didn't need any, and she already knows what we all like; though I do wish she wouldn't indulge Ruby's sweet tooth so much.

"Haaaah," I let out a sigh.

-------------------------------------------------

It's been a few minutes since Sapph went out to get us some drinks, and everyone has finished getting ready for morning training. It shouldn't be long before Sapph gets back, so we're all just passing the time by doing what we want.

Weiss is studying at her desk. For what, I don't know, but, as she spends most of her free time nose deep in textbooks, so that's nothing out of the ordinary. Blake is reading another of her books while laying on her bed. This one has a cover over the front, so I can't tell what it is, but her weird blush prevents me from asking. Ruby is playing a card game with me. We are sitting on the ground in front of Sapph's bed with half the deck each. It's time for war!

"Go," I say, signaling the start of the round.

We grab the cards at the top of our respective decks, and, simultaneously, flip them over on the floor between us. The result…..

"HOHOHO, You've lost this one dear sister!" Ruby dramatically reacts to the cards on the ground.

"Tck," I click my tongue at her taunting.

The cards were an eight of spades, Ruby, and a six of diamonds, me.

"I may have lost this one but this game is far from over!" I reply in a similar dramatic tone.

"Maybe so, but you should know, you'll find no glory in defeat! Go!" Ruby gloats before starting the next round.

Again, we pick up cards, and, again, we flip them over in front of us.

A grin comes to my face as I see the faces of these cards. An ace of clubs, me, and a five of hearts, Ruby. I win this round.

"No Glory in defeat, huh," I through my sister's words right back at her.

"Tck, Next round!" She clicks her tongue before demanding the game to continue.

I was going to comply, but before I could even make a single sound….

-Knock! Knock! Knock!

Desperate knocks came pounding on the door, startling us all. Blake and Weiss looked up from their books, while Ruby and I set our cards down and stood up. I glanced at her before walking up the door. Even as I reached for the handle the knocking never stopped. It was very annoying. I grabbed the doorknob and yanked the door open.

"What!" I yell at the person outside the door, causing them to shiver.

Bunny ears. That is the first thing I notice. Two long brown bunny ears with pink lining the inside are the first things I notice upon opening the door. Looking further down reveals a brown-eyed and long brown-haired, Velvet Scarlatina. I don't know her much at all besides that she attends a few of the same classes we do. Why is she frantically knocking at our door?

"Um...um…" Velvet struggles to find her words.

"Haaah, sorry, what do you need," I rephrase my question in an effort to calm the uncomfortable Faunus in front of me.

I don't know whether it worked or not, but she took a few seconds before, once again, trying to speak.

"You're team Rubies, right?" she asks.

I nod in confirmation, and I hear the rest of the team shuffle in behind me, probably curious about what's going on. Velvet notices them too, as she glances behind me a couple of times before continuing.

"You all should come with me to concessions, It's about your team member," She informs before quickly turning away and running down the hall.

Did something happen to Sapph? But, how? Why?

While I was stuck in my thoughts I feel Ruby brush past me.

"Well? Come on!" Ruby urges with a worried tone before following after Velvet.

Arg! There's no need to think about this so much! I'll worry about everything later. For now, Saphh is the priority.

I rush out the door, and, if the footsteps are anything to go by, Weiss and Blake follow right after me. It doesn't take long for us to catch up to Ruby and Velvet, as they were waiting for us at the stairs.

Upon spotting us approaching, Velvet silently turns around and runs down the stairs. Ruby joins up with us as we travel down the four flights of stairs down to the ground floor. We don't stop as our guide is already running down the hallways in the direction of the concessions room.

It takes but a few seconds of sprinting down the halls before we reach the double doors leading to the concessions room, and what I hear coming from behind them makes my blood boil.

I hear Sapphire's voice from the other side of the door question, but she was interrupted by a revolting comment from one of Cardin's lackeys.

"He's asking whose dick you sucked to get here, freak! I bet you whored your way to the top of the class as well!" A male voice sounds from the other side of the door.

We all freeze in place, even Velvet, who led us here is shocked at what we just heard. What the hell!?!

We weren't given time to comprehend the situation before another disgusting comment was slung through the air.

A different voice this time says, "Haha, if you're still offering your services, I wouldn't mind becoming one of your patrons, Hahaha."

What the fuck is going on!? Who talks to other people like that!?

Fuck this!

I move to the door with rage boiling the blood in my veins. I don't even pay attention to the stunned people beside me. I just want to hit something!

Unfortunately, before I can open the door another comment is thrown. This time from someone whose name I remember. Cardin.

"Hahaha, what do you say? I would love to see you gasping for breath as I pull your hair, and ram you from behind, after all, the only thing you animals are good for, pleasuring my d-!"

As those words enter my ears my mind goes blank only for anger to replace all the thoughts that were previously there.

I step back from the door, before lifting my leg and kicking it open.

-Bang!

The door slams open, but I pay it no attention. All I can see is Cardin laying his filthy hands on Sapph. She seems extremely uncomfortable. Who wouldn't be after receiving those comments? My emotions boil over more, and I finally notice my semblance was activated, but I don't care.

I rush forward and drive my fist into Cardin's face as hard as I could. Nothing else matters at this point besides teaching him a lesson. He is sent flying backward into some tables and chairs, but he is not my only target. With Cardin out of sight, I turn my attention to his lackeys. I don't know their names, but who cares!? They will pay!

I bring my fist into the green-haired one's gut, and then as he doubles over, I bring my knee into his face. I follow up with a sidekick to his chest, sending him flying. Next.

I drive an elbow into the side of the brown-haired one's face, and as he is staggering, I kick him between the legs. That's what he gets for that disgusting comment! How dare he treat Sapph like some kind of cheap prostitute! As he doubles over from the pain between his legs, I kick the brown-haired one away.

I then turn to the final one, only to see his back turned. The fucking blue-haired coward tries to run away, but I won't let him! I will beat the shit out of him like the rest!

-Shatter!

The sound of ceramic shattering on the ground breaks me from my stupor. In my anger, I had completely forgotten about the reason I was mad in the first place.

Sapph!
