Late Morning, Part: 1

-Chirp! Chirp!

The songs of the morning birds flooded the room through the open window, awakening its sleeping occupants. After a far later night than they were used to, the team has slept in far longer than normal. By now the sun was well past the horizon, and still peaceful, even breaths were heard from the girls, peacefully unaware of the current time.

Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, and Sapphire, all as dead to the world as a certain princess who pricked her finger upon a spinning wheel. Weiss slept peacefully, not a sheet has shifted from when she placed them upon herself the night before. She laid upon her back with her hair let down, a style few have been privy to view, and wearing her signature blue-grey nightgown. Ruby, on the other hand, was a far more rambunctious sleeper. She slept almost completely outside of her blankets as she had, in her tossing and turning, kicked them to the side. Like Weiss, she is wearing her signature sleepwear, a black tank top with a pink heart on the chest, white sweats with pink polka-dots, and a sleeping mask with a decal of red eyes. Yang, like her sister, seemed to be a rambunctious sleeper, as she too, has kicked her sheets off in her sleep. She's wearing her standard yellow tank-top with a burning heart on the chest, and some black short shorts. Blake seems to be a comparatively calmer sleeper as she is still comfortably resting underneath her blankets, but as opposed to everyone else so far, she's sleeping on her side. She is wearing a black, yukata-style shirt with white edging over a purple undershirt and a matching skirt. Finally, Sapphire, her sheets, much like Blake's and Weiss', are as pristine as they were when she went to bed, and like Blake, she is sleeping on her side, though this is likely for comfort reasons as she is the only one in the group to have a tail. Unlike the rest though, she is not wearing her standard sleepwear. She is wearing nothing but her undergarments. I mean they are of the sporty variety, so they cover more than normal, but they are still undergarments; they don't leave much to the imagination. Judging by the white tank-top and black short-shorts lying on the right side of her bed, and the left-out to-go boxes that once contained her dinner, she had spent minimal effort before going to bed. The exhaustion from the previous day likely played a big role in that.

As serene though they may be as they sleep away the problems of yesterday, everything ends eventually, and this is no exception.

-KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

Loud knocks hit upon the door to the hallway, stirring the sleeping beauties from their slumber.

"Hello! Are you guys going to get up!? You're gonna be late again!" A muffled voice sounded from the hallway.

Sapphire POV:

"Hnnn?" I let out a groggy noise of confusion at the sudden awakening and sit up in my bed.

-Knock! Knock! Knock!

The door is knocked on once again, allowing me to shake off some of my grogginess, so I flip the covers off of me.

"Yaaawn! What's going on…?" I hear Ruby sleepily ask from her bed.

"Someone answer the door already," Yang Grumbles from her bed before turning over seemingly to escape the sound of knocking on the door.

"I've got it," I lightly reply, though I don't think she was awake enough for me to hear, "Yawn!"

In order to shake off the remaining grogginess in my system, I reach my hands into the air and lightly stretch my back. I let out a yawn and stood up from the bed to go answer the door.

As I get closer to the door, I can hear some people talking from the other side.

The soundproofing of this place is impressive as always. Unless someone is yelling, you have to be pretty close to the door to hear, even for Blake and me, who have better hearing than the rest of the team.

"-ey even here?" I hear a muffled voice ask from the other side of the door.

I must admit, my curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to wait for the conversation outside the door to continue.

"Most likely, I usually catch them doing their morning exercises, and I had not seen them today," Another muffled voice answers, this time it seemed to be a girl, but it is pretty hard to tell; It is like I'm trying to listen to people while under water.

"They might still be asleep," A different muffled voice suggests slowly and calmly.

"Yeah! Just knock harder!" A rambunctious voice exclaims.

Okay, that was definitely Nora. Even through heavy soundproofing her unique personality is like a shining Beacon. Haha...I've been spending too much time with Yang....

Though Nora's suggestion would technically be the correct thing to do, I would rather the team not be so rudely awakened, so before someone complies with that advice, I turn the knob and open the door, revealing team JNPR in their full glory. Jaune stood directly in front of the door with his back turned to me like he was just addressing his team. He wore the boy's Beacon Uniform, A black suit with gold trimmings. He is likely also wearing the blue vest, white shirt, and red tie, but with his back turned to me I couldn't tell. Diagonally behind and to the left of Jaune stood Pyrrha. She was wearing the standard Girls Beacon Uniform with leggings instead of stockings. To the left of Pyrrha stood Nora, and then Ren. Nora was also wearing the Beacon Girl's Uniform, but unlike Pyrrha, she was wearing knee-high stockings. Ren was dressed in the Boy's uniform just like Jaune, but since the Boy's uniforms don't really have any "Customization" that is not surprising.

"Finally, You guys' better hurry or you'll be la-la-la," Jaune says while turning around, but for some reason when he fully turned around, his sentence stopped in its tracks, and he stood there like a deer in the headlights.

Jaune's face went red, but I'm not entirely sure why. Pyrrha also seemed a bit embarrassed, but she seemed relatively calm. Ren had his eyes closed and had a barely noticeable blush on his face. Nora immediately covered Ren's eyes with her hands, even though they were already closed, but she herself was blushing while openly staring. At. Me?

I pushed aside my confusion for the moment to ask why they were knocking on the door so urgently.

"What's going on anyway? Why are you pounding on the door?" I ask the fact that I just woke up made clear by the raspiness of my voice.

"Well, umm, uhh," Jaune tries and fails to pull himself together in order to answer my question, so I turn to the next best option, Pyrrha.

"Well?" I ask.

"Y-you se-" Pyrrha begins to explain, but she is interrupted by Yang's shocked voice from inside the room.

"Sapph?! What are you doing!?" Yang shrilly asked.

"What? I was answering the door?" I replied with confusion.

-step step step

I hear footsteps approaching me from behind, so I turn around only to be met with an angrily blushing Yang, as she grabs my arm and pulls me out of the doorway.

"I'll get it, just go sit down!" She whisper-yells at me, and since I didn't want her to get any angrier, I complied.

After I sat down on my bed, I also noticed the rest of the team giving me strange looks, but why? What's everyone acting all weird for?
