"Ice cream, ice cream, ice cream." Maddie demanded as they sat down to eat breakfast.
"You can't possible eat ice cream for breakfast Maddie." Annie replied.
"I can and I will and you guys can't stop me." she responded swiftly.
"You know what, all right, you can do whatever you want." Annie replied shaking her head as maid served Maddie a bowl of ice cream and the rest of them actual food.
Annie looked at Ollie demanding an explanation.
"What? I had a feeling she was going to ask for ice cream, so I decided to just get that out of the way." he replied smiling.
"You know what blondie, I am definitely starting to hate you less everyday." Maddie responded smiling as she ate her ice cream.
"Mhmm, now this hits the spot." she moaned.
"Oh, you mean the dark, cold empty space inside your heart." Matt said.
"Oh, ha ha, very funny Matt, very funny." Maddie replied frowning as he laughed.
"Sorry, I couldn't help it, I just had to say it." he laughed as the others laughed with me.
"Seriously, and you guys call me the mean one." she scoffed not letting them ruin her mood, she focused on her ice cream.
"Is that all you're going to eat this morning? If so, you're going to be hungry." Annie said.
"Of course I'm not going to eat ice cream alone, I'll wait for the sweetness to leave my mouth then I'll eat breakfast." she replied.
"Better, because if you don't eat well you'll be in an awful mood till lunch." Annie said as Maddie laughed.
"I can't argue with you there, anyway blondie, is this special ice cream?" she asked.
"Well not really, it's regular ice cream, it's made from yak milk." he said.
"Yak milk?" they asked surprised as he nodded.
"That's not regular, we don't use yak milk to make our ice cream." Matt said.
"Well we have more yaks than cows here, so technically, it is just regular ice cream, now if it was made with cow milk, it would be special and sweeter." Ollie said.
"Weird, it's strange how some things are three sixty degrees different than back home." said Annie.
"It is, now I'm upset because I know there's something sweeter than this, just great, thanks blondie." Maddie frowned?
"How is that my fault? You were the one who asked me a question and I just answered your question." he replied.
"Exactly, do you have to answer every question I ask you?" she asked.
"Well yes, that's the point of a question isn't it? To get answers. I just answered you, it would be rude if I ignored you." he replied.
"No it wouldn't." she said causing him to sigh. If he answered he, she would be upset, if he didn't answer he, she would still be upset, he was thoroughly convinced that it didn't actually matter what he did, Maddie just loved causing trouble and distressing him.
"Maddie, you are really annoying, you know that." he said shaking his head.
"Thanks, I can see you're no longer stepping on eggshells with me." she replied eating her ice cream happily.
"So you want me to refute you?" he asked.
"No, I want you to be you, not this delicate, always considering other people's feelings type of blondie." she said.
"But that is my nature." he replied even more confused.
Annie and Matt had just watched their banter going on between them without interfering.
"No, you lie, people aren't just so excessively nice." she said.
"Well some of us are just nice." he replied.
"You know what Maddie, I'm not going to allow you start an argument." he said.
"That's just fine by me blondie." she replied smiling, clearing irritating him was amusing to her.
"Anyway, I'm done with my ice cream." she smiled happily.
"I hope you're happy now." Annie said.
"Oh yes, very happy." she smiled.
"Moving on, I can't believe you guys are leaving tomorrow." Ollie said reminding them of the reality of life they had to return to soon.
"Awww, wait, no, please don't remind me Ollie. I actually forgot about that." Annie said sadly.
"I know right? It feels like time has moved too fast, it feels like we just got here yesterday." Matt said.
"I have to admit that time has moved really quickly, I'm not ready to go back to actual life again." Maddie admitted.
"I have to confess, I don't feel like going back to actual life too." Ollie said as Annie laughed sadly.
"I mean, I've enjoyed my time with you guys here, just the four of us, no endless high council meetings, annoying letters, I had so much fun." Ollie said smiling.
"Awww, we had so much fun too Ollie." Annie replied.
"I agree with you dude." Matt smiled.
"The only fun things were me learning to convey and winning that little fight we had yesterday, and oh the apple pie and apple juice." Maddie said.
"Yeah, we're just going to allow you continue to tell yourself that." Matt replied as she smiled at him.
"I'm really going to miss you guys, really." Ollie said unhappily.
"Aww, don't say that Ollie, you're making me sad already, you make it sound like we won't ever see each other again." she said.
"But it's true, we probably won't see each other again for a long time. I mean you guys will be accepted into Artrovan and you'll move away and I'll be so busy and you'll be so busy with schoolwork that we won't be able to make out time to visit each other." he said.
"That sounds so sad Ollie, stop talking about it like that." Annie said.
"I agree, you're giving me mini depression by reminding me that we may or may not return to the lives of students." Maddie groaned.
"Yes, you make it sound like you're going to be so busy." Matt said.
"But I will be, have you forgotten that I asked for a week off from my usual duties?" Ollie asked.
"And you guys, Artrovan is known for it's extensive syllabus, you definitely will be too busy to remember me." he said.
"I'm already too busy to remember you blondie." Maddie said.
"We're being serious here Maddie." Matt said.
"I know, and I'm actually sad." Maddie said.
"You are?" Ollie asked.
"Mhmm, I don't like to admit it, but your castle is really comfortable." she said.
"Really?" Ollie asked surprised as she nodded.
"Don't take it too far blondie, but I have to acknowledge that it's really peaceful and secluded here. I started to actually feel at home." she said.
"You don't know how happy I am to hear you say that." Ollie beamed, Maddie almost looked away from how bright his smile was.
"Geez, relax blondie, if you keep on reacting like that, I won't tell you stuff like this anymore." she said as Annie and Matt smiled.
"I'm sorry, but I can't help it." he replied as she scoffed.
"Anyway, hearing that just made me feel a little bit better." he smiled.
"I want you to feel even better, is there anything you want us to do together for one last time before we go?" Annie asked, she realized how truly lonely Ollie was. Even when they went to Artrovan, at least they would all still be together.
But Ollie had no one, he was always alone, and that made her sad.
"But we already did the picnic yesterday." he replied.
"It doesn't matter, anything else you want to do?" she asked.
"Honestly... I don't know, all of us just being here together is enough." he smiled.
"That's so sweet Ollie, but I'm being serious, let's have some fun." she laughed.
"Yes dude, I agree with Annie, we have a few hours left, so let's make the best of it." Matt smiled and Ollie looked at Maddie.
"Don't look at me like that, whatever you want to do, I'll cooperate." she replied causing him to smile even more.
"You guys are the best." he smiled.
"I honestly have nothing else I want to do, what about we all relax in my library for the rest of the day?" he asked.
"If that's what you want to do, then it's alright with me." Annie replied as Matt nodded.
"Great." he smiled.
"Yeah, yeah, well let me finish my breakfast first." Maddie said as she began to eat.
"And how long will that take?" Matt asked.
"Oh please, you already know how I eat, it won't be too long." Maddie replied stuffing her face.
"I knew that answer was coming and I still asked." he shook his head.
"Yeah, me too, I wonder why you still bother, you know me by now." she smiled at him.
"I like how you two are less mean with each other, but you still have to tone it down a bit." Annie said.
"Oh relax Annie, you and Matt have your nice sweet talks, and me and Matt have out banters, it's our thing." Maddie replied.
"Well, okay if you say so, you think that now, just wait until you both say something you don't mean." she said.
