One step closer

Tiana's point of view:

Aeron was trying to act calm but lost his hold on himself the moment we were in my room.

Out of these walls, we're not able to speak as we want since anyone who is a mile away from us can hear us. Well, hopefully, the rooms' walls are soundproof.

This means, once you close a door on yourself, no one can hear you.

"Glad that you could make it alive!" I started, and with a dull face, he answered.

"What sort of game are you playing?" He asked, and I decided not to answer his question. Instead, I kept acting as if nothing had happened.

I know I look like I don't know what I'm doing, but I know what I'm doing. Trust me, they're all going to regret it, and Aeron is just like them. He'll pay for everything he had done to me.

"The preparation needs to get started!" I spoke while pouring a glass of blood mixed with wind to both of us. I grabbed one for myself, then handed him the other one.

"What preparation are you talking about?" He accepted the glass I gave him but didn't seem like he's going to drink from it. He probably thinks that I've poisoned it.

"Our engagement ceremony, it should've been announced, but sadly the wolves took me that night!"

"Enough games!" He spoke, again without showing emotion. He was trying as hard as possible to hide the feeling he was feeling.

Somehow, my hybrid told me that he was freaking out…

My hybrid speaks sometimes inside of my head. I still don't know how to communicate with her, because she knows how to reach for me whenever she needs to. I believe that I'll learn how to do so one day.

Back to Aeron, he was still waiting for me to speak, and I wasn't keeping him waiting for too long.

"I'm not playing any games!" I repeated with a strong tone, then decided on adding." I decided to forgive all that you have done."

My glass was out of drink, and he still didn't even have his first swipe.

"You're not drinking that?" I noticed, and he ignored my notice.

Since he didn't answer, I assumed that was what I was already thinking. So I grabbed the glass from his hand, then started drinking while waiting for him to react.

Noticing that the drink wasn't poisoned, the confused look on his face grew bigger and bigger. The more he tries to understand me, the more he gets lost than before.

The awkward silence lasted for like forever, and finally, he spoke.

"From what I understand, you want me to believe that you forgot me for all I've done. Just like that! You want me to believe that, seriously?"

" Yes…" was all I said, and he started laughing before he started.

" Play a better game, I'm leaving!"

He then seemed as if he decided to make his way out of my room, and while he was making it to the door, I made it toward my bed. I laid my body on the bed, then spoke one line that made him change his mind.

"You leave this room, and I'll have no reason to cover for you!"

He stopped in his truck, but for no reason except asking.

"And what reason do you have right now!"

Hearing him, I knew that I had reached the part I was seeking for. I closed my eyes, and right away Tristan's image showed up in my mind.

"I love you!" I started, but posed for a while, then continued speaking while picturing Tristan inside of my mind. " I have loved you since the first night I saw you, and I loved everything about you… The dull look on your face, the rare smile of you, the gorgeous appearance you have, your cruel personality… Your bright and dark side, the much pain you're hiding as you try to show strong… Everything, literary, everything. I wish we could've met in a different situation. Perhaps then, you would notice how wonderful a woman I could be."

Although Aeron was the one hearing my speech yet, it was all for Tristan. The reason why I felt each and every word I spoke.

I felt a heavy-weight joining me on the bed. I opened my eyes only to notice Aeron's body above mine. His face was a few inches from mine, and his hand made it toward my face to take away a tear that escaped my eyes without my notice.

The look in his eyes explained it all, he took the bait, and now he believed that I'm in love with him.

Yet, what was coming was something I would hate myself for if it happened. His eyes watched my lips carefully as his lips started getting closer.

The moment his lips were about to touch mine, I moved my face which got him confused.

"What was that?" He asked, and I answered him.

"You cannot touch me until you bring me something…"

"Which is?" He wondered.

"Abigail's head!"
