When the edit mode was active a white transparent grid appeared on the ground, spanning all around like a spiderweb. Like last time a starting building was available. This building was still in the same style as last time showing, that Roursa was still set in the middle Ages. As the building was placed small golems made out of straw walked out of the building, looking around with their large eyes.
Also now he had the information for the other button available. He was stoked about its function. It actually allowed him to go into a first-person perspective and walk around the city to come, like a normal person.
All the buildings from the other game were available, probably because of being in the same setting, but also a lot more. Especially things related to summoning and Golems. Tim realized, that at the moment houses and such were not necessary because what he wanted to do was to build a city purely with golems. But in the future, it was inevitable for humans to live in the city but that would come later.
At first, normal roads were placed but this time instead of houses there were large nest-like structures. The one he placed was made from stone and wood on the outside but had straw on the inside, suitable for the golems he had at the moment.
Just as he thought about getting more Golems his face became sullen. Maybe he had to arrange for more people early on. But the app or game had him covered and there was a building dedicated to Golem Production. In this world, a golem was normally created by a summoner and their crafting or magic skills. But there were many people not so skilled in crafting so after a long time, a "Thing" was build that had the ability to, with enough energy and materials, produce a Golems customized to one's thoughts. In the menu, this was called the Golem Production Facility and instead of thoughts, there were a lot of different blueprints to unlock. But to not lose the way of creation. A custom Blueprint was also possible and would be evaluated by the Game.
But for now, the only possible thing available was the straw Golems, even though he already had wood and Stone. Due to already having these resources the economy of the new city was kickstarted. A forester and a stone mine could be placed right from the start.
In theory, the golems did not need any food but because they needed energy, which in the case of the straw Golems was well new straw. So in the end fields were still needed. But in the future when it would change to wooden or stone Golems this would change. At least he hoped.
The growth of the city was slower as the production of golems was slower and took longer than people coming in groups to a village. But it was steady and not mood-based, which got rid of a lot of buildings that had to be placed normally. And when enough new resources were there more of these Golem Production Units could be placed.
Before going to bed he caught himself thinking about quitting work. When he read novels in his younger time he always thought that quitting his job shortly after the arrival of a system was risky. But now he had the same thought. And in contrast to the people in novels, he could not quit immediately. There was a period of training the new person and the paid days of overtime and vacation could also not go to waste. The by now over a hundred Gold coins in the Account of the "Kragom" world, which was the first game he played, were quite a sum and in just around four days had earned him enough for over a month. This sure was tempting and he now could kind of understand the characters in novels.
Tim decided to sleep over it to not make a rushed decision.
The next day he was still unsure. He was a very careful person and would rather have a backup. So he decided to wait and amass some more money he could save in cases of failure?
After work, it was time to "play" again. The new world was really immersive and he liked it very much. The controls were so much better. As his vision returned inside the game a new Golem just walked out of the production facility looking around full of excitement and surprise. He then placed a new facility right next to the old one, increasing the production capacity of Golems. When he searched for a blueprint in the information he had obtained a the beginning he found out that the lower level ones could be bought but for the higher ones research by summoners had to take place. This was all in his calculations and confirmed the need for summoners in the later stages of the game. Another change was to loot one from the creatures living in this world. Also, trading was an option.
The price for the wood Golem recipe was in the currency of this word, which he had nothing of. So he set up a shop to sell some of the scarce resources he had. But just as he finished setting everything up he had an Idea. Maybe the gold coins he had in the app could be exchanged for some of the gogo coins from this world, which in reality were also gold coins, only going by a fancier name because of the golems in the world.
So he thought to close the current game and open the app. The screen stayed over his eyes as he searched through the app and even when he opened the older Game, which could now also be controlled by thoughts alone.
Tim had a fantasy plop into his mind. Maybe wood was worth way more in one world and through conversion, of the coins, he could get rich in another, only by selling wood.
