Victoria made Aran's head burst up like a balloon, then the whole body burnt up, turning into ashes. The girl waved her hand and the whole mound was brushed into the soil bed under the rose bushes. Aran became from a snake in the shadows to fertilizer.
She has not yet taken a step when her cell phone rang up. It was from her father, Oleksiy Vlad. She glanced at the screen for a time, only picked it up when it was almost about to disconnect. She said, "Hello."
Oleksiy Vlad spoke, "Victoria, what did you do to Aran? I sensed the blood seals vanish." his voice carried a chill. He was afraid of letting Aran be free because after working for more than a century under him. The snake knew everything about him.
Victoria replied with a strong indifference, "He is dead. I freed him forever." with that said she disconnected the call. She did not want to talk to him at this moment when her mind was full of scenes imagining his cruelty.
She walked back inside the house, her mother was on the call at this moment. Argentia sat in the living room as she talked to someone, seemingly Oleksiy Vlad. Her eyes were enough to tell Victoria that her father was angry and was venting on her mother. She ground her teeth and stepped forward. In a blink, snatched the phone from her mother's grip and said, "Can you calm down? What is in it to act so hyped? That guy dared to touch me with a lecherous gaze. Should I let him do it?"
Her series of questions and a loud voice thundered in Oleksiy's ears. He immediately calmed down. Not because he found her reasonable, but it was that he sensed a change. A change inside the demeanor of his daughter. She never talked to him like that.
"Vici, what happened?" Oleksiy asked Victoria in a soft voice. His tone and warmth not only repulsed Victoria on the other side but also made her even angrier. This was the softest he has ever been to her. Why was he being so gentle? To find out something of use?
Her eyes changed into crimson red, yet she kept her rage in check. She replied, "Aran left me alone in front of that hunter."
Oleksiy asked, "Bones?"
Victoria replied with a yes. She then told him about the incident in the graveyard. Obviously omitted the almost kissing part. She told him that to get revenge on Bones, for how he disdained her. She went to the tribunal to find out about him. The hatred doubled when she found out that the price of the information was his ashes.
Oleksiy acted very understandingly. He did not blame Victoria and the girl also acted as if she was totally doing it for his own sake. But how can this undead old antique be that easy? He did not say anything but his brain was working like a machine.
...
After finishing the phone call Victoria went back to her room. She was enraged and did not notice a strange light flashing in her mother's eyes. She went inside the room and threw her bag at the wall.
A book dropped out of the bag. This was the book her mother handed to her in the library. She seemed to have forgotten about this. After all, so many things happened in the span of a day. Her brain was very exhausted.
She glanced out of the window, the twinkles in the sky were very pretty to watch. The scenery outside calmed her mood. She picked up the book and sat down on her bed with her back leaned against the headrest. She was just about to start reading when the door was knocked.
She said, "Come in." in her usual cold voice.
No one dared to walk inside her room without permission. She never locked the door. A maid pushed the door open from the outside and spoke in a low voice, "Miss, you have not taken anything yet."
Her sentence meant, 'You have not drunk your daily quota of blood.' Victoria hated the mention of blood as a meal. Although she liked it, that was her primitive nature and not her choice. The blood princess gazed at the maid and nodded to her.
This was a signal for the maid to serve her a bowl filled with blood and meat. Victoria asked, "What is it today?"
The maid replied, "Game meat."
Victoria nodded, closed the book, and took the bowl from her. It was a soup bowl. The game meat was diced and roasted in blood, later some fresh blood was diluted and served together. Yeah, it was a soup. Vampires had to intake some blood daily to prevent them from hunting humans they find tasty. They can eat normal food, but one blood meal was necessary.
Victoria ate the food with no expression on her face. She liked the taste but the process was repulsive for her. After finishing the bowl of soup. She licked her lip and said, "Honey blood wine for tomorrow. Nothing else. You can go now."
The maid nodded and left with the utensils in her hand. She ate the food in her bed. That was how she liked her meals. The maid closed the door, and Victoria picked up her book. She read the book and according to her expectations, it was a romantic story.
The basic idea explained in the book was that vampires will experience a heartbeat only once in their lives. After that heartbeat, they will never be able to fall in love again. The process was so exaggerated that as their relationship intensified, they will be able to sense each other presence from miles away and even sense each other's pain.
Victoria was blown away by this fact. She also discovered something that shocked her to the depths of her soul. Her mother, Argentia was not able to sense the same for her father. She stood up from her bed. She was going to confront her mother about it.
