Sui's eyes opened, his chakra had increased by leaps and bounds, if not for the chains, it would have alerted most Shinobi in ROOT Headquarters.

He collected the reward, the information and skill of using Lightning God transferred to his mind and his body changed a little again. To use such a technique, the user had to have Lightning affinity and immunity to lightning. The system made his body immune to his own lightning since he already had the needed affinity for it.

Sui pondered if he should escape, he felt like he could easily break the chains, they were not meant to hold a Jonin, much less a Kage level shinobi. Even though he didn't have fighting experience and could not beat a true Kage, he had the power of one.

He opened the system and when he saw he needed 3 months for the next level up, he hesitated.

'I don't think I can take another week in this prison covered in this stuff… I need a damn bath… It's time to escape. If I use Lightning God, the speed bonus should be huge with my chakra level, I should be able to easily run away. Enough speed can easily overcome the difference in fighting experience, the only threat in the village should be Hiruzen based on the memories, he is the Hokage at the moment, based on what this guy knew before being thrown here, I am somewhere before the chunin exams and Uchiha massacre in the timeline.'

Weighing the pros and cons, he decided to do it. The system had evaluated his power and level as a Mid-level Kage after all. He refused to accept that he couldn't even escape the village, especially with his speed technique.

The prison cell lit up as bright blue sparks danced around his body, his hair suddenly stood straighter and began glowing a bright white color. It loosely scattered around him, it was so long it had reached his back, his face was finally exposed but since it was covered with a black substance like the rest of his body, it was hard to tell how he looked like.

The only thing clearly visible were his muscles which were refined and looked perfect. He was 6 feet tall (182 cm).

He didn't wait around, he coated his body in Chakra and casually kicked the door of the cell, it flew and crashed loudly on the ground, a visible dent on the steel bars.

The world seemed to have slowed down in front of Sui, everything moved in slow-motion, whether the falling door or the dust caused due to his kick. Meanwhile, he felt tremendous explosive strength in his body as his chakra pulsed.

A moment later, he vanished from the spot as if he had not been there at all. His speed had reached frightening levels.

It didn't even take 5 seconds for a dozen ROOT shinobi to suddenly appear in front of the cell, ready to strike. Seeing the empty place, they quickly scattered.

Sui encountered no obstacle as he ran through the hallways, he began doubting what to do when he felt danger from below him.

He dodged to the side as an Earth wall rose from under the place he was just standing, it rose and hit the ceiling harshly.

Sui didn't linger around to watch though, the moment he had dodged, he found a ninja not far away, a Jonin by the looks of it.

In an instant, he appeared in front of the ninja, the katana from the system in his hand. To his surprise, the Jonin could react to his movement a little, he tried to dodge but only managed to move 2-3 inches before the sword reached his chest.

Sui didn't even hesitate to kill him as his sword cut through the man, separating his body in two.

He didn't wait to see the gory outcome, he dashed in another direction.

More and more chunin and jonin were alerted as they scattered through ROOT headquarters.

Sui instantly killed any ninja that came across him, they were too slow to do anything. Only the jonin could react, and even then, they couldn't save themselves.

As the slaughter was taking place in ROOT headquarters, many ninjas with masks stood in a room, all kneeling in front of an old man.

"Lord Hokage, the sensory ninjas located the origin of the foreign Chakra. The origin of the chakra is very strong. Their reading suggests a battle is taking place."

Hiruzen sarutobi, the 3rd Hokage, frowned, "I..." He didn't manage to finish as an explosion shook the village, the source being close by. Hiruzen decided to go there...

Sui looked at the 2 ROOT ninja in front of him with caution, one was Fu Yamanaka that he recognized due to the resemblance to the anime version, the other was equally strong with many insects around him. The two could react to his speed fast enough to dodge some of his attacks, Sui wasn't willing to go near them because he was aware they had strange techniques...

He wasn't willing to go all out with his Lightning God either, he was using it at 40% power because he wanted to conserve chakra, he had to run away from Konoha after all.

'Damn it.' He thought as he looked at the light coming in from above, many other Anbu had surrounded him plus root members, he had to go all out to escape, killing them was currently out of question.

'So be it...' He pushed himself to 100%. His Chakra spiked by a lot as the world seemed to come to a standstill. The lightning surrounding him doubled in amount and intensity. He became much faster but at the same time, the consumption of chakra increased, he could at most keep it up for 5 minutes. He discovered that his Chakra was under too much pressure to the point that even with perfect control, he would not be able to cast other Jutsu in this mode.

'It seems only 50% and below the chakra is calm enough for me to cast other Jutsu while in Lightning God mode.' He realized.

He jumped and ran through the forming ninja army, using his sword, he wounded most while killing the others. Slashing left and right as he ran, blood followed him, a red mist forming behind him.

In the perspective of the shinobi, a bolt of lightning passed through their numbers, leaving behind only raining blood and falling bodies.

Sui finally reached the top and in seconds, appeared on top of one of Konoha's buildings.

"STOP!" A loud voice caused him to turn around and check who it was, he only sped up when he saw it was the Hokage.

He borderline flew through Konoha, his feet only touching the ground twice before he was out of the village. The Hokage couldn't chase him at all despite being able to react to his speed.

Hiruzen clearly saw the figure, it was a man covered in lightning, his speed was too fast. He could fight him with a few tricks up his sleeve but not chase him, maybe when he was younger but Hiruzen knew he was too old to chase someone with that kind of speed.

'It wasn't the Raikage...' Was the thought in Hiruzen's mind. He had suspected it to be him at first glance, but it was someone else. This worried him. He had to get to the bottom of it.

From afar, it seemed as if a lightning bolt had cracked through Konoha in the middle of a sunny day, the people were shocked and most were curious to learn what it was.

Danzo, the leader of Root, on the other hand, was fuming with rage while keeping a cold face.

"You are telling me that it was the chunin that we captured a year ago? How can a chunin display such power? Tell me." His tone was cold as he spoke to the shinobi kneeling in front of him.

The shinobi was precisely the guard of Sui's cell. He remained expressionless as he answered, "He started behaving unusually silent around a month ago, That's all I know, Lord Danzo."

"Get out." He simply said then walked away, 'How am I supposed to cover this up...' he thought. The incident was related to Root and it could easily expose him if handled with a mistake.

A few minutes later Sui stopped near a lake, he was covered in sweat, his Chakra almost completely exhasted.

He didn't wait and directly jumped in.
