Chapter 21

Regina was waiting for Hawaii to answer her but then she looked back and saw Alice getting inside. It's like she didn't see them, and they didn't call her out.

She walked towards Enzo, the son of the sheriff who was sitting alone reading a book with a bottle of bear just beside him. "Hey Enzo" she greeted him.

"Alice! Hey...you've been a stranger for a minute"

"I know..." Alice said and sat close to him. "It's just...I've been feeling very nauseous lately"

Hawaii paid attention to every conversation, he turned to Regina "She's going to feed on him"

"What? What do you mean feed on him?"

"I mean suck him dry. Not that sucking, but literally every drop. She has this weird hunger and I gotta tell someone"

"Hold up Julian! Alice turned into one of you?"

"You mean a vampire, yes"

Regina's jaw dropped, and at that particular moment Alice had convinced Enzo to escort her to the ladies room knowing he wouldn't say no cause he likes her. "Oh no, how stupid could she be. He drinks vervain" Hawaii grunted and stood up following them behind.

Alice had placed Enzo against the wall and he thought she was about to kiss him, but that's not what she had in mind. Luckily Hawaii barged inside the washroom and grabbed Alice by her hand. He pulled her outside.

"What do you think you are doing?" He shouted at her.

"Let me go..."

"No! Are you insane? He's a sheriff son for god's sake. He drinks vervain for tea! What were you thinking?"

"I'm hungry, I'm constantly hungry and the blood bags aren't helping"

"Listen to me. You are a normal high school girl, this doesn't have to be your life. You should be at school right now, doing math or history or whatever that you want but not trying to feed on people"

Alice pushed him "I refuse to just be normal. My life had never been normal, not here not in Chicago and it'll never be. If you aren't going to help me then I shall wonder through alone"

Alice finished and got out of the bar, luckily she didn't see Regina on the counter table. Enzo came out of the washroom feeling embarrassed, he collected his books and walked away. Hawaii looked at Regina "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" He asked her.

"No"

"Bondage. Come on, put your witchy stuffs ready, we are going to lock in a vampire"

"I'm not sure if she's a vampire yet, she just died. She died Julian let's give her a break"

"Time is the leisure we can't afford and that doesn't explain why she feeds on humans"

He grabbed Regina and pulled her outside. He was vicious and determined to stop whatever it was going on with Alice. They started to follow her behind.

Nina and Amiya arrived at the lake house tired and it was dark already. This was a house that Nina had once lived in the eighteenth century, it was her usual escape place and she hadn't been then since Antonio found her. It had been more than hundred years since she last saw it, there was a lake beside it and a boat.

"Wow! It looks exactly the same...just slightly different but...same" Said Nina and got out of the car. Amiya followed her and she was holding herself because it was cold.

"Looks occupied" Amiya said.

"Why?"

"Don't you see a boat over there...?"

"Oh" Nina gasped after she paid her attention to the lake but she still went to the back of her car and took out their luggage.

They carried two bags which had their outfits for the whole week and some drinks, bottles of whiskey, bourbon and wines. Vampires drink all the time to reduce their cravings and that's why Nina and Hawaii most of their time savor alcohol. When they were unloading, an old man came up to them. He was fat and bald, his belly was very huge and wore a suspender with a big shirt.

"Can I help y'all?" He asked seeing them packing as if they belong there.

"Yes sadly, are you the owner of this land?" Nina asked him.

"Yes, my parents left it to me"

"How old are you?"

"What?" He asked, Nina moved closer to him she needed closeness so she can compel him. "I'll be seventy six next month"

"Oh seventy six, too young"

"Lady I think I'm older than you. You can't be older than twenty five"

Nina chuckled softly and he joined her, he seemed like a good man "This belonged to your parents?"

"Actually I'm the third generation. It first belonged to my granddaddy, he was a soldier, a union soldier during the war. But he...he deserted and found himself here"

"A deserter?"

"Those were terrifying times ma'am"

"Yeah I can tell"

Amiya moved closer to them with their bags. "Are you guys moving in?" He asked.

"Not permanently we just need a week since it's my place but you..." Nina moved close to him and compelled his brain "You will leave us here for a week. Go somewhere, to another village or simply to the city and have fun"

"I've always wanted to go to her, but never found the courage"

"Where is she?"

"The next village"

"Voila! It's settled then, we'll take care of your house"

When she finished compelling him, he walked to his boat. Amiya and Nina smiled at each other and moved their things in. Unlike what Nina expected the house to be, which is dusty and dirt because she never thought it would be inhabited after her. However it was clean and well organized, there was only one bed and it was huge and had such great sheets. Amiya threw herself on the bed "This is more comfortable than my own bed"

"I'll unpack. You have a rest"

"Thank you"

"Goodnight..."

"Goodnight Nina..."

Amiya shut her eyes close and drifted into deep sleep. While she was sleeping, her shadow left her body and she travelled way far into the witches realm while Nina had no clue of whatsoever was happening to her friend. And none knew what was going with Alice, of her newfound strength and vampirism.

Alice was wrecking lose, she lost control of her transition and was on bad ways. Two bodies were down sucked dry by her and she was on her third, a young man who she pressed against a tree and he compelled him not to scream. She couldn't have enough, no matter how much she fed she kept wanting more and more blood until she killed her prey.

Then she looked around, her whole face covered in blood and three dead bodies laying down in the woods. Tears rolled down her cheeks "I killed them...I killed them" she screamed and broke down. Even tried to heal them, guilty was taking over and as a vampire it heightened million times.

"It's useless honey" she heard a voice of a man behind her and when she grabbed her attention to him. Nazar was sitting on a log amongst the trees, it was dark and she couldn't see him clearly so she asked "Who is it?" in a worry voice.

"If you are a vampire now and you are that scared perhaps you should turn it off"

"Who are you...?" Alice picked up a stick and she took steps back "Who is it?"

Nazar revealed himself to her, he was wearing a black suit which was expensive and he looked like a true gentleman. He moved closer to Alice, and then took out a white handkerchief. He wiped the blood off her face and also the tears.

"It's alright honey, no need to feel guilty"

"I killed them" she said crying.

"That's what vampires do. You are a vampire now"

"No, no I can't be...I don't want to be a vampire"

"But don't worry, I'll fix this. Do you want me to fix you?"

"Yes please..."

Nazar held her in his arms "Shshshsh...I got you. I got you" and he suddenly snapped her neck and Alice passed out.

He carried her in his shoulder, with a smile on his face. But just as when he thought about running with her, he heard footsteps approaching him. And then quiet, after a minute there was a wind circling him and he knew it was a vampire trying to play games on him.

Hawaii was on the move, he knows Nazar he had met him on the other side. He knows how powerful he can be once he's alive and at that moment he had Alice on his shoulders. "Show yourself! Don't keep me guessing" Nazar shouted but Hawaii didn't stop circling him. And when he did, he shouted back.

"Give her to me and I'll let you live"

"Julian...I thought you had learned your lesson when we met on the other side"

"You know me Nazar, I just never learn"

Regina appeared and she saw him, the big bad wolf and she froze for a moment. But then he vanished with Alice, Hawaii was too late and so was Regina but he turned to Regina "Why didn't you do something?" He shouted at her.

"What could I have done?"

"Some spells would have helped don't you think? He has her now..."

"Don't you dare blame me Julian. I would have died, no witch has ever survived fighting him alone"

"That's why you froze? You are just a coward!" Hawaii screamed at Regina and he started punching trees and growling. "You could've saved her, but you didn't!"

"We'll get her back"

"How? How Regina? How are we going to save her? He has her now and we don't know what he's going to do to her. We don't! You can't even figure out the puzzle on the map. What if he kills her..."

Antonio appeared where they stood and said "He won't!" and Hawaii vanished just at the presence of Antonio. He was so scared of him and after centuries of running away from him, constantly scared to even breath the same air as him that particular moment it was no different and he left Regina alone.

"Well he's a runner" Antonio said.

"Can you blame him? You fried him alive, locked him in a dark world and chased him all around the world" Regina came to Hawaii's defense. She was confident and not scared of Antonio.

"You still love him"

"Where is your brother taking our friend?"

"I don't know but you will help me know it. And also I have a gift..." He said and took out a pendant "Take it"

"What is it?" Regina asked after touching it.

"Rasheeda's, I want you to bring her back"

"His one true love?"

"She's the only one who can stop him. The only one who can still make him realize his worth. My brother is not a bad guy, I still believe there's good left in him and you will help me..."

Regina looked at the pendant, it had a blue stone and a symbol of magic on top, the crossed stars. It had a lot of meaning behind than just being a simpler necklace and if there was anyone who could understood it then it was Regina.
