Chapter 39

Candlelight flickered as the waiters moved around the long dining table, clearing a plate or replenishing a glass. All those in the gathering were formally dressed and dozen men wore black ties on starched collars, and the women, who numbered five fewer were wearing what had become known as Edwardian fashion: high collars, long darted or gored skirts ─ some of which flared below the knee to form the mermaid look and corsets that forced their wearer's bosom forward and her posterior outward to form the alluring curve so prized in the pages of fashion and publications. 

Amiya wondered around the restaurant and somehow everything was odd, and looked nothing like the twentieth century. The people, the food and even the surroundings seemed utterly odd. "Where are we Regina?" she asked.

Regina turned to her to say "I may have pushed back the time with the magic I used. I think we are in the past" 

"What?"
