Chapter 21 Jeju Massacre

Zero, Reno, Aviz, and Diablo sat down on a couch. Since they had nothing to do, Zero turned on the TV to watch some news.

"Breaking News! Korea's Hunters Management is preparing to attack Jeju Island. Korea's Hunters Management asked other countries for help and we are still waiting for their response. The countries that we asked for help from are Japan, the USA, and China. If the three countries agreed today, they can start attacking within a month."

Zero also has seen the article about the monsters in Jeju Island. Three years ago, the people staying in Jeju Island were attacked by monsters. There are some hunters on the island but unfortunately, they are too weak to face the monsters. Different kinds of monsters attacked them like bears, chimeras, foxes with a few tails, wyverns, baby dragons, and werewolves. The total numbers of monsters at that time are 2,000. Almost 15,000 people were annihilated. They called that incident 'Jeju Massacre'. After six months of the massacre, the SSS-Rank Hunters of Korea attacked the Island again. 10 SSS-Rank Hunters, Hundreds of SS-Rank, and thousands of S-Ranks participated. They did not ask for help in the other countries because Korea's Hunters Management is confident that their forces are enough to clear the island. But unfortunately, they all failed because the number of monsters increased and their firepower increased at least two times in six months! No one was able to escape in that hell. The Jeju Island Attack was aired live on the TV. The whole country of Korea mourned when they learned that it's impossible to kill the monsters on the island.

Zero also learned that only 63 SSS-Rank Hunters were left. Zero thought

'Hmm, why won't those monsters go wild? Is there someone leading them like on what happened at the 'Death Forest? Or the one who leads the monsters at the Death Forest is also the leader of the monsters in Jeju Island?'

When Zero think of that, it all made sense. It's like the leader of those monsters loves fighting with the hunters.

Zero asked the three(Diablo, Reno, and Aviz)

"Do you think the leader of these monsters in Jeju Island is just the same as the leader of the monsters in the Death Forest?"

The three were stunned when they heard Zero's words.

"Fufufu, as expected of Master. To immediately figure it out.." Diablo said

"There's a high possibility on what you said, Master," Reno said

Aviz only nodded.

A day passed in a blink of an eye. Zero is eating his breakfast. The three are still sleeping. He decided to walk outside for a while. After ten minutes, he's back in his house again. He saw that Diablo and Aviz were already awake while Reno is still sleeping. Aviz asked Zero "Master where did you go?"

"I just walk around to get some fresh air outside," Zero said.

They are all bored and have nothing to do.

So Zero decided to turn on the TV again. He put it in the news channel.

"Breaking News! Japan, USA, and China finally agreed in participating in the Jeju Raid! They said that their high-ranking hunters will arrive in Korea after two days."

While they are watching, Reno is already awake.

"Since you are all awake, why don't we check on what kind of monsters are in the Jeju Island?"

Zero asked.

The three nodded.

"We will do it later at midnight," Zero said.

'Sheesh, I am bored right now. How should I spend my vacation?' Zero muttered.

Zero called Diablo "Diablo, I have to tell you something."

"What is it, Master?" Diablo asked.

"Greed is dead. And I am the one who killed him." Zero said in a casual tone.

Diablo is a little bit shocked. Aviz and Reno are not shocked because they already know about it.

"I entered on an abyss. I've been fighting countless enemies for a very long time finding how can I exit the abyss. In the end, I met Reno and she told me that the owner of the abyss must be killed to exit the abyss. And the owner of the abyss is Greed. I fought with him easily because he is sealed at that time and I killed him." Zero said.

Diablo was stunned by Zero's words.

Diablo spoke "How unfortunate for him to meet you, Master. And he also made an abyss while he is sealed huh? That guy doesn't know how to give up. So Master you are the holder of the [Devour] skill now?"

Zero nodded.

"That's all I want to say. I'll go head back to my room first." Zero left the living room.

The seven were surprised when they heard Dong-Hyun's words. The whole Jeju Island is full of a surveillance cameras. They monitor the situation of Jeju Island 24/7. But they can only see the outside of Jeju Island and can't dig in anymore because it will be dangerous. They are also thinking about how the thousands of monsters fit on the small island. The surveillance camera can't also find even one of the monsters throughout the years. They concluded that there is a dungeon in Jeju Island that they are using as their base.

Lee Bong Ju said, "If only.... the people who help us in the Death Forest will help us again...."

"It's not good to always rely on the help of other people and we're still not sure if they are our enemies or not. If they are enemies, we can only stop them if we receive help from other countries." Dong-Hyun said

"Forgive me, Master." Lee Bong Ju said in an apologizing tone.

Then they continued their meeting about Jeju Island.
