Chapter 14

The three boys were getting stronger and healthier by day but they had missed alot already. Lorna offered to help along with Ashly who was not a student, but was done with school ,she looked younger as them but she was so old and had lived for so many years. She also trained them on some magic spells that were really helpfull for any magic student or anyone in Hummingheart. It was now two days since their recovery and they were training real hard, paying attention to everything they were taught by Ashly.

They were lucky enough that their absence at the training grounds was not noticed since Mark had not yet returned from his long gone mission even the other Heroes were not around, and so students was left at the hands of tutours. This enabled the Misdkoza's brother's to catch up for the lost time, mostly in magic school but the human classes needed much more attention.

Derrick had really been waiting and looking for them, as he thought something bad might have happened to them and the brilliant young boy had begun his research greatly inspired by his encounter with the magic door the day he had followed after Lorna. He had gone to that place several times in attempt to open it but unfortunately for him Magic school door always changed from one door to another, this was for security purposes of the magic school. But Derrick was not a person to easily give up on anything. With deep research he had learnt that Sofia had an affair with Manak, this was from sofia's sister who spoke to him with so much fear, after she had insisted he promise not to tell a single soul about any of this.

The Misdkoza's brother's had agreed to meet up with him at his private hostel,there they could have all the privacy they wanted Derrick was among the few privileged students,who were given private hostels that were more of an apartment away from the other students hostels.

"Where have you all been? i even looked for you from your hometown friend who also didn't know where you were" Derrick asked as soon as they arrived. The Misdkoza's brothers had already come up with something to explain to him. How something urgent came up home and they had to get home immediately. Derrick of course bought there story as his concern was much on their mystery on the dead girl. He got them all the research he had done , and boy that was alot, he had dug deep as to even have theories on how her death.

"Soo.. according to this, which may appear ubelievable to you, Sofia's death was unnatural and other records of such death's happened centuries ago, when there was existence of witches, who would drain human kind of their soul leaving them exactly as Sofia was when she was found dead. I know it's shocking since you may perhaps be wondering if witches do exist.But no questions or comments until you hear the all of it" he interupted Meshack who wanted to say something. " From sofia's sister information, it is that Sofia was in a relationship with the same man who threatened her sister, and supposedly had another girlfriend." He concluded placing the heavy load of file on the table. Hunkins took it over and they went through it with John and Meshack. It entailed images of such similar deaths and the times it happened which was long long ago. Derrick was really good at this, that they considered telling him the reality of everything but they knew that would be dangerous; especially for him.

"This means the witch and her boyfriend killed her" Hunkins pointed out.

"Yes , I would say they both cooperated in her killing, but this could be because of a spell perhaps from the witch to her boyfriend, i mean it appears he truly loved Sofia how could he then kill someone's he loves that dearly? " Derrick shared his views.

"This two had actually dated for some months, but it was that which they called 'forbidden love' for them, and to add to this this boy Manak was not even a human!" Derrick said scratching his head so hard, he was definitely blown up by all he had discovered from that case.

"Okay take it slow?" John said to Derrick noticing how he was affected with all this.

"You guys believe me right?" He asked not having enough confidence in himself or this information.

"We do, we are on the same page, something is happening in this school" John assured him which calmed him making feel less insane.

"What was that you said about following , Lorna to a door?" Meshack asked trying to get more information on what more Derick knew.

Derrick explained it to them allover again. How could he see the magic realm they thought.They kept their words limited as to not say something that would indicate they knew of the existence of the magical side of Hummingheart. But Derrick was a determined boy he was not going to stop here. After a brainstorming discussion the boys resolved to play a game as evening came by fast, this got them away from all the heated discussions they had. Time flew first that they didn't even know when it was already 8.00pm, until their empty stomach's reminded them that it was time for a meal.

Georgina was getting back to herself and actually turned up for dinner. They were just two at the dinner table her and Lorna.

"This how it usually is most time's ,everyone is always busy but times like this when there's a threat it gets even worse. " Georgina said as they had their meal silently with a little chats here and there. Lorna's mind was lost in thinking about Mark's return.

"Wow, sounds pretty boring with all this empty chairs" she said pretty bored.

Japheth walked in and directly served two plates not even bothering to say a greeting to neither of them.

"I have been really off for a long time, when did you two exactly start ghosting each other?" Georgina asked reffering to the awkward silence between them.

"Ever since Charms moved in with Mark, and has even been sleeping at his room!" Japheth said clearly annoyed.

"You know my room has been under investigations that are still pending until the king is back" Lorna defended herself.

"Why didn't you come to mine then, huh?!" Japheth questioned hitting the table angrily,he was so pissed of.

"It's my choice to decide where i want to stay Japheth " Lorna said looking boldly at him

"He never did anything for you, like i did. I would have given you more Lorna! what will a Heroe even do for you? That you choose him over a prince! He won't even give you a title"

"Hooold up!.. Clearly i haven't been updated on any if this. So you are dating Mark now?" Georgina asked excitedly as she looked at Lorna. Japheth on the other hand was earger waiting to hear an answer from her. There was some threatening silence and tension , when a lady walked in with nothing but Japheth long shirt.

"Sweetie, am really hungry. Whats taking you so long?" She asked standing from a distance from them.

"Coming darling," Japheth answered giving Lorna a boastfull look. Looking back at the lady sweetly. Lorna looked at him very surprised. How dare he scold her and yet he already has moved on to some other girl. He then left saying nothing to them with two plates full.

"Why am i not surprised with my darling brother,he does this every time. Only that I thought he was serious with you after the introduction that day to mother, he has never done that for anyone, seems he will always be a prince." Georgina said to Lorna who had lost her appetite now.

"He is so unbelievable, Georgina i feel like hitting his head so hard! "

"You will get used to him... so what's this i hear about Mark? give me all the updates"she turned back to her excited to hear all about it.

Lorna told her all details,how they kissed the night she was so drunk , and how things were unfolding themselves slowly to them. It got them talking about all kinds of stories on love.

"But be prepared to miss him, their missions always take most of their times, they even forget about their spouses and lovers.Thats what happened to uncle Manak after their last mission, he had completely forgot about his girlfriend Sabina. How i enjoyed the look on Sabina's face when Manak ignored her for this human girl"

"You readlly do hate her?"

"I hate all witches especially her, mother says they are evil"

"What makes them forget?"Lorna asked concerned.

"It's where they lose something or are faced with a life threatening situation.And since they can't lose their lives they lose something special instead, so uncle Manak definitely can't love Sabina as he did before , he lost that spark"

Lorna quitely thought about that wondering what if the same happens' to Mark, would he come back not interested in her , or what if it doesn't happen now but later.
