A week later

"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! You're going to be late!," Tikki yelled in my ear.

I growl closing my ears as Tikki jumps on my head yelling at the top of her lungs.

"Okay okay, I'm up."

"Go shower quick I'll go tell mom and dad to start making you breakfast, your outfit is already laid out on your bed so change quick and head downstairs."

I nod slowly and walk into the bathroom and start taking a cold shower to wake me up.

I don't understand why I have to wake up early, I mean class doesn't start till-

I looked at the time on my watch and grumble.

2 hours.

I roll my eyes and finish washing up before heading back into my room. I look down at my bed seeing the dress I made the week before, I smile at how pretty it came out. It was a light pink dress that has a soft material that can button down as you like or all the way to the top. I slip my way into the dress and grab my red rubber band leaving it in my wrist just in case I get stuffy. I put on my sweet perfume and my shoes before slowly making my way down the stairs and into the kitchen where Tikki is shoving her face with macaroons.

My parents were probably already cooking to open up the bakery, Tikki turns to me and smiles, she pats the chair beside her and pointed at my breakfast before doing her own thing again.

I laugh lightly and start eating.

After breakfast Alya arrived and we headed off to school.

"How do you feel?," she asked.

"I'm nervous of course, but I can do it," I smiled.

"You can do it girl, btw that outfit is seriously iconic."

"Thanks it took me a while to do the top to my liking."

"I mean yeah you've grown some boobs girly."

"Let's not talk about my boobs," I laughed.

"No like seriously you got a bangin body, what did your grandma feed you while you were over there? I might just head over next summer."

"I just laid back on a lot of food and worked out constantly."

"Give me your diet plan and workout so I can start because damn I can't stop staring," Alya winked.

As Alya and I continue our walk filled with laughter I started to realize that we were in front of our school. I can feel myself slowly start to shut down as I see my crush I had before I moved, Adrian Agreste in the front of the school next to Nino. Adrian towered over the rest of the students with his height, his hair grew longer and was styled in a soft mullet, he was wearing black jeans and a black turtleneck with some dark hunter green tennis. He looked absolutely beautiful...

I shake my head erasing that thought as I feel Alya leading us over to the boys.

"Hurry Mari Adrian is with Nino," I stop walking and look up at Alya.

"I-I can't do i-it right now, let me calm down a-and I'll see you guys in class o-okay?," I let out a shaky breathe.

Alya looked at me and gave me a soft smile "of course girl, it's okay we'll see you there."

"Marinette what happen are you okay your shaking," I hear Tikki say from my purse.

"I just need a bit of time to say hi to Adrian, I'm just going to the principals office to get myself ready," I sighed as I feel myself slowly taking control over my body.

"Okay that's okay, keep your head high kiddo, let's not forget this past year, remember be more confident in yourself."

I nod and I slowly feel myself start walking to the front of the school, I send a small wave to Alya and keep my eyes forward to try to avoid Adrians stare that I can feel on my back.

As I walk in the school I see Chloe standing in front of the principals office upstairs.

"Well hello Chloe!," I yelled lightly to grab her attention.

But she doesn't turn around. Oh no she didn't.

"Chloe," I laughed.

Still she wouldn't budge.

I make my way up the stairs and I tap on her shoulder and she turns around with a smirk.

"Oh heyyy I didn't hear you there Dupain-Cheng," we glare at one another till finally she hugs me.

"I missed you!," Chloe laughed.

"Me to," I giggled.

"So how was L.A?," I smiled as we sat down on a bench.

"Oh my god I think you would've loved it there! All the shops and celebrities, it was truly my home away from home," Chloe laughed.

"That's good to hear did anything interesting happen while you were there like a certain someone coming to visit you?," I raised my eyebrows.

"Oh please Kim didn't even show up he missed the flight after a tournament," she rolled her eyes annoyed "he spent his entire summer swimming instead of spending it with me, like seriously, are we even a thing?"

I frown as I see Chloe tearing up, I rub her back softly.

Over the time Chloe and I actually became really close with the whole Kagami situation that happened a year ago. I also saw that she wasn't such a bad person, she was just a very out going girl, she just hid behind her mean girl self.

"Now now let's stop crying before you get Akumatize."

"Oh please Hawk Moth hasn't been here in about 2 years, we can finally have emotions."

"That's true," I sighed, I really couldn't say anything because what Chloe said was true, when Hawk Moth was here we really couldn't cry or get angry, our emotions were a tool for him to try to steal the miraculous. Finally these people have time to have that emotional moment that they need without having to fear that they'll be villains.

"Anyways class is about to start I'm suggesting to go get your schedule done now or you'll be late like you were freshman and first semester of sophomore year," Chloe laughed.

"Oh crap I forgot!," I stand up quickly and knock on the principals door.

After getting my schedule I start walking to my class.

"I'm late," I sighed.

"It's okay Mari," Tikki reassured.

"Not really, I'm gonna walk in and all eyes on me," I mumbled.

"There is nothing to worry about you look great, all you have to keep up is your confidence, we didn't leave Paris for your confidence to go down, remember who you are," I nod.

I didn't leave my family and friends so I can go back to being the same as before.

I get a hold of myself and walk towards my class and walk in, gladly the teacher hasn't came in, unfortunately the class was filled with almost all my old classmates, including Adrian.

"Marinette!," Rose yelled happily.

"Hello," I mumble.

"Oh my god Mari!," Mylene smiled.

Soon everyone surrounded me asking me multiple questions at once.

"How was China?," Nathaniel smiled at me.

"It was fine-."

"I love your dress where did you get it?," Sabrina asked.

"Myself-."

"I missed you," Rose smiled.

"Me t-."

"Guys give her some space," I look up seeing Adrian smiling down at me.

"Hey Mar-," he gets cut off with the class door opening revealing our teacher.

"Sit down we have a new student," she informed, everyone sat down in their seats.

"Yes it's me," I smiled.

"Come to the front and introduce yourself after that sit next to Mr.Agreste, raise your hand," Adrian raises his hand happily and smiled at me, I turn away and stand in the middle of the class.

"Hello I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I just came back from China, hello everyone," I smiled and waved my hand.

"Great go sit down, today we will be-," I start walking to Adrians desk and sit beside him.

"Hello Mari," Adrian smiled.

"Hey..," I mumbled.

"How have you been?"

"I've been well how about you?"

"Same old same old, how was it with your grandma?"

"Great," I know I'm being quite rude, but Kagami made it clear before she didn't want me talking to Adrian.

Flashback

"Marinette may I speak to you for a minute?," Kagami asked.

"Sure what's wrong?," I smiled at her.

"I have been informed that you have a crush on Adrian-."

"N-no I don't we a-are just f-friends-."

"Yes I do know that but you must understand that I do not feel comfortable, I wanted to be friends with you, but I feel like you'll be using me to get to Adrian."

"I-I would never d-do that, I r-respect your r-relationship," I stuttered.

"Either way stay away from Adrian he already picked who he wanted to be with," Kagami looked at me up and down "and he picked correctly."

"I-."

"I'm not trying to be rude, but Adrian wants someone who is very confident about themselves, he wants someone that has strength and could hold themselves upright," I nod nervously and sigh to myself.

"When I first met you, you seemed like his type till I saw your true nature and felt like I have no need to be friends with a person that acts this clumsy and neither does he," she went on.

"Adrian needs more friends that are brave, not someone that'll cause more problems in his life."

"But I never c-caused p-problems," I can slowly feel my heart shatter.

"Marinette please I'm Adrians girlfriend please respect my decision here."

It's true I can't be like Lila or Chloe I need to follow her conditions, Adrian doesn't need someone like me in his life. I look up at Kagami and nod.

"Good," she turns around.

"Thank you Marinette."

End of Flashback

"How are you and Kagami?," I smiled.

"Oh- we're good, she's currently in Japan she'll be back in 2 weeks," Adrian scratched his neck nervously.

"Hmm," I hummed.

"I like your dress, you look very pretty," I blush and look to the side.

"Thanks," I mumbled.

"So what did you do while you were gone?," he asked.

"I just studied, I needed a break from here."

"What had you so worked up that you had to move away for about 2 years?"

"Everything," I whispered.

"What?"

"Nothing, we should pay attention to class," I smiled and turned my attention to the lesson.

After a while lunch my art class begun and of course I got many questions and sat next to Adrian once again. Alya was in this class as well as Nino, they kept trying to start a conversation with me and Adrian but I kept it cool and fixed my attention on class once again. I can tell I was making Adrian question himself, but it's better this way, this is a good friendship him and I are able to have. Simple and not me questioning if he likes me everytime he made a small kind gesture towards me.

"Wow Mari," I turn to Nathaniel looking at my canvas.

"You have become quite talented since you left, this paintings emotion is love am I right?," he asked.

I didn't realize but I was painting a pink orchid.

"Yeah," I whispered.

"Who made you feel this way?," he asked.

"Oh I wasn't paying attention sorry," I laughed nervously and turned away.

"Don't be shy-," I sighed and turned away.

"I was probably thinking of my grandmother," I mumbled and ignored everyone's stare towards me.

Everything died down and Adrian turns his head to me.

"You know it's okay to like someone Marinette, it's a normal thing," Adrian smiled.

"Thanks but I don't need the advice," I mumbled.

"I mean- I'm sorry I shouldn't pry into your life," Adrian whispered.

"Yeah....."

"I wasn't trying to be rude or anything I just know how it feels."

"You have Kagami I highly doubt that," I whispered to myself.

"What?," the bell rings and I start gathering my things.

"Do you need help with cleaning your brushes?," I offered to the class.

"I'll stay behind and wash up," I smiled.

"Thank you Marinette," they all smile and walk out except Adrian.

"I can help clean up," he smiled, I stay quiet and nod.
