Chapter 6

With a loud thump I hit the ground from my bed. I heard a soft giggle from the corner of my room. As I looked over I saw Becca huddle in the corner on my bay window seat.

"Well it's about time you woke up, must have been a good dream the way you were moaning over there." Becca chuckled and winked at me.

It was still dark outside so I glanced at my alarm clock, it was nearly 5 am. I sighed and stretched my arms and got off the floor.

"Becca where have you been, so much has happened since the party last night." I said with a crack in my voice.

Becca walked over to me and wrapped her arms around me. "I'm sorry I got caught up with Jimmy and you know how we get," she said with a sigh.

I rested my head on my friends shoulder and let a single tear fall down my cheek. I felt like everything in my world was shattering around me and I was at a loss as to what to do.

As I sat there I started to plead with Becca to be honest with me where everyone else had been giving me the run around I knew my best friend would be more revealing.

"Ali I don't know how to tell you this or even where to begin, Becca rubbed the middle of her forehead and continued, " it might be better if I just show you."

At that moment Becca went over to the sink in my bathroom and turned on the faucet. Then without any word she started to manipulate the water. She began to make a water sphere and bounce it from hand to hand. Then she turned her sphere into rain droplets in my room.

I just stood there with my mouth hung open astonished at what my eyes were seeing. I reached out to touch the droplets, as my fingers grazed some drops they turned to ice. Now it was Becca turn to be amazed.

"Wow Ali how'd you do that!" A stunned Becca jumped up and down.

"I don't know, truly I've never done that before, this is what I've been talking about Becca!" I said a little frantic.

"Have you talked to the parents yet?"

"I've tried and no one will tell me anything" I said in frustration.

"Okay Ali the best way to explain this is we're not from here technically" Becca said.

"What does that even mean Becca?" I shook my head and sighed.

"Well the only thing that I could say that would remotely make sense is that we come from a different kind of realm, and the place we are from is called Calstonia." Becca said with no hint of humor.

The name Calstonia sounded familiar to me, my head began to ache as I tried to remember, and then it came to me. The night before the parents had mentioned this place and something about going back there now.

Becca watched me pacing back and forth with clear frustration written on my face. "Ali" she spoke softly to me, " there's more I must tell you."

I glanced towards my friend waiting for her to continue on. Feeling exhausted again I slumped down onto my bed. I closed my eyes and listened to the rest of Becca's explanation.

"Your not some regular person to this place, you are technically a Princess, your mother is the youngest daughter of the king of the south. Our people are known as the divine." Said Becca wide eyed gauging my reaction.

I laid there in silence for a few moments while I tried to understand the information that was just presented to me. If this was true then why did my parents bring me here. After a few moments I sat up and looked at Becca.

"If my mother's royalty then why aren't we living in this Calstonia place?"

"Unfortunately that's not my story to tell," Becca said sorrowfully, " all I know is my parents were sent here to protect her, they're like her personal guards, which in turn has been passed on to my brother and I in terms of your protection along with becoming your loyal friend."

I felt hurt at Becca's last statement. My whole life I thought she was my best friend and how lucky was I to have found her. The sad truth of the matter was she was forced to be my friend from the start and to watch over me.

"How can you say your my friend with what you have kept from me my entire life!" I screamed in Becca face.

" I'm so sorry Ali you've got to believe me I've wanted to tell you so many times but my parents and your family forbid it" sobbed Becca

As hurt and betrayed as I felt I suppose it wasn't Becca fault after all she was just a kid too and was following orders from the adults. I guess if the role was reversed I would've listened as well.

I rubbed my eyes and yawned it was 5:30 now I still felt exhausted, "Becca I'm very exhausted I need some more rest and time to process everything can you come back later and we'll talk?"

Becca got up from the bay window and half smiled at me with hopeful eyes and walked out of my room closing the door behind her. I laid down on my bed and hid under my covers. I closed my eyes and started drifting off into another slumber.

As I slipped away I felt myself being pulled again from where I slept and found myself again in the beautiful field of flowers. I could smell there intoxicating aroma, then I heard him the mysterious man Jasper.

"Hello my love"
