Memories

"Welcome to the Balrus boutique."

It had white walls and two large windows that had mannequins lined up in different suits and gowns. The walls inside that were seen from the window outside had many different colors of thread filling them. There were two couches in the middle of the room and a wooden table with a chair near the right corner of the room. This shop stood out from the rest of the others. It was very eye-catching and was pleasing to see.

"Wow. So freaking awsomeeee. This couldn't get any better." Turilla said jumping around after getting off the carriage.

"Tri please behave and try not to cause any trouble," Imogen said putting a hand over her best friend's shoulder. "But yes it's amazing to have something like this in our town that is usually brown. It's… refreshing."

"Aww, thank you for the compliments girls." The older lady said to the girls as she led the two into the boutique while Mr. Manwall went to park the carriage.

Lowering down their hoods the two girls went into the shop and sat down on one of the couches until Mr. Balrus went to get their clothes. Turilla kept fidgeting in her spot since Imogen told her to behave and not to cause any trouble.

"Turilla, what on earth are you doing?" Mr. Balrus questioned moving his head sideways then putting it on top of his shoulder. "If you want to move around you are free to do so. My clients come in about an hour or so."

"Really? Thank you, M…M…?" Turilla was struggling to find out which honorific she should use before Mr. Balrus walked over to her.

"I prefer anything, Sweetheart. Don't worry I won't get offended."

"Oh, I- hm"

Sighing she said "use 'Madam' or "Mademoiselle'. No one's ever called me that before but I always thought it has a nice ring."

"Oooh, that does sound nice for you. Mademoiselle, it is then."

Earning a beautiful, bright smile from Mademoiselle Balrus, Turilla went over to check out the boutique. On the wall that was to her right was the wall of all the shades of yellow to gold. She came across a particular color of thread that seemed so mesmerizing to her. When she was looking at it her eyes became shiny and her iris large.

"This color is beautiful." She said not looking at the tailor or her best friend and still enchanted by the thread.

"Oh yes, I made that one myself using my magic. It's a new spell that I tried." Mademoiselle said looking at her book of measurements while Imogen walked over to the mannequins to look at their clothes. "It took me a while to make that though."

"It reminds me of something. But what is it?" Turilla muttered under her breath.

"It's better if you don't try to touch it darling. I'm still not sure what the side effects are since it's in its testing stage."

"Okai, I have a question though. What's the color's name?" She replied taking a closer look at the thread.

"I call it golden crest."

Suddenly a there was a small flash of light in Turilla's eyes which ended up sending her a series of pictures that were completely unfamiliar to her but at the same time very familiar.

\\Haha, I got a girl.~//

\\Look at her hair~//.

'No… Stop….' "STOP IT," Turilla screamed jerking herself off the cold marble floor.

"Tri! Are you ok?" Imogen asked in panic as she rushed to her friend's aid.

"What happened?" Turilla asked holding her throbbing head.

"You suddenly collapsed."

"Where are we?"

"Mademoiselle Balrus' work room." Imogen replied when Mademoiselle Balrus herself appeared from behind them. "Turilla, did you see anything while you were unconscious? Like a flash of memories?"

"Yeah, though I can't remember what happened, it's all a blur. How long was I out for?" She asked rubbing the back of her head to ease the pain.

"For about thirty minutes. I called my sister and told her about what happened." She replied helping the younger to sit up straight to give her some water. "Did you touch the thread?"

"No, I didn't. My head hurts really badly though." She said handing over the glass of water that Imogen took and placed it on the table.

"Other than your head does anywhere else hurt?" Mademoiselle said going over to the table and taking out some ointment for Turilla's headache. "I don't have the necessary powers to heal your head but I hope this helps."

After applying the ointment Turilla felt better and her head ache died down.

"Thank you, sorry for causing so much trouble to you." She replied apologetically almost in tears.

"Don't worry darling" She replied. "I heard this has been happening for a while right?"

"Yeah, I can't remember when it started though."

"I recommend this person by the name of Angus. After tomorrow's exams go see him." She replied as they got up to leave the boutique. "He's a great shrink and magical user. He's also my best friend who helped me get through a lot."

As they were head to the door, Imogen went over to the couch to get their stuff to head out. Mr. Manwall had already got the carriage out by the time they were at the door.

"I can't thank you enough Mademoiselle Balrus." Turilla replied giving a hug to the taller, older woman before parting and heading into the carriage.

Imogen had got in first and while waiting for her best friend to enter the carriage, made small talk with Mr. Manwall who was upfront.

"Do you know the address, Good Sir?" She asked initiating the conversation.

"Yes, M'Lady. I have taken the Mistress there many times before."

"That's good."

"I'd be careful of the girl if I were you." Was the last sentence he said under his breath which was unfortunately inaudible to the younger girls who were left in confusion. By the time Turilla was done hugging the lady, Imogen and Mr. Manwall had finished their conversation.

"Sorry I took so long." She said as they took off to the orphanage. The ride to the orphanage was different from the first ride. There were many potholes and it was very uncomfortable for Turilla and Imogen. It was dark by the time they left the boutique.

When they arrived Mama and Mrs. Kimberly were standing at the great big metal gate that was in front of the church.

"Mama," Said the two girls as they leaped into the person they called Mama's arms.

Mrs. Kimberly did say anything except look at the girl with pity in her eyes on her frowning face.

"Supper is ready; all the children have eaten and are now in the playroom. You girls can eat then go sleep. Tomorrow is a big day." Mama said planting a kiss on both the girl's heads when they were in front of the kitchen.

After supper, the two girls went over to their shared bedroom to get sleep before their examinations that were going to be held the next day. Saying good night to all the people in the house Imogen and Turilla were about to enter their room before a hand stopped Turilla from doing so.

"Can I talk to you?" Said Mrs. Kimberly. "I wanted to tell you this earlier but didn't find the time."

"Sure Mrs. Kimberly. How may I help you." Turilla said with a smile.

"I know about your past, kind of that is. The memories that you keep getting flashes of."
