As they walked closer to the carriage, the knights stood respectfully around the carriage, in formation, however a couple of them were unable to hide their reactions and were immediately reprimanded by their seniors. Clarimond greeted them with a slight nod from her head and they all bowed slightly to her.
"Hello everyone, I am Duchess Harridan. I hope we will get along on this journey to Theron. It would please me if everyone would introduce themself."
Each of the men and women stepped forward and said their names, their eyes tending to linger on the floor as they went. With that, her luggage was loaded into the carriage and she stepped in followed by Daisy and Louise. As she sat, she fingered her dress nervously as doubts creeped through her, but to doubt was in vain, for without movement, her mistakes would be repeated again. With one last look at the castle, where she had spent practically every moment of her past life that she had thought fondly, she turned away from the past.
Clarimond rocked slightly from side to side as the sound of shifting pebbles turned into the sound of dirt weaving through the wheels interspersed with the occasional rock or tree trunk. As Clarimond looked at her companions, she wanted to wish Daisy away. Daisy stood for both the person who had taken everything away from Clarimond but perhaps she had also been one who was being manipulated in the same way. On this trip, she needed to ensure that Louise was able to do what she needed to do while not letting Daisy be suspicious.
Louse had fallen asleep, her head leaning into the open window and Daisy sat reading a book, occasionally peeping at Clarimond. As they rode on, Clarimond tried to engage in conversation with the knights, but they wouldn't speak back to her. She had expected this, after all, the knights were very polite last time, and the nobles from Selemont didn't like to speak to those less wealthy than them. Many people assumed that Clarimond was like all the other nobles from Selemont, thanks to the rumors that Arabella spread about her and how the royal family needed to keep taking control of the dukedom.
When they reached a stopping point, a smaller city, they passed through the large gate surrounding it easily, and as they passed through the streets, Clarimond peeked through the curtained windows and could see the crowds staring at the carriage. After a long ride, they arrived at a house in the suburbs of the city. It was rather big, but once again it was not fit for her noble status. This was also for basically the exact same reason that the entire trip was very quiet and she had stayed at the inn first. Besides the fact that she wasn't really treated as a noble, the royal family of Selemont didn't want to publicize that someone who was a member of the royal family was being brought as a prisoner to another country.
However, Clarimond knew that she would be able to bring change.
