Chapter 25: Charge

Mo was excited to be coming home for the Thanksgiving weekend. Not even the long plane ride could dim her happiness at being able to see her family again. When her plane landed at the San May Airport, her family was there to greet her. She ran and hugged them all, even when her little brothers whined.

They were even taller than the last time she saw them. They hovered over her now. What happened to when they were little gremlins? They were becoming tall noodles.

“Uncle Felix!”

She ran over to hug him. He was her dad’s twin brother and looked almost identical to him aside from his hair, which was peppered with grey.

She pulled away, smiling. “You made it. I thought you’d be too busy at work.”

“The city won’t burn down without me for an hour. Besides, I’m not the only employee. It’s called delegating.” He took her bag from her. “Tell us about your semester. What have you been up to in the East Coast?”
