Chapter 31: Beam

A person had a one in 15,300 chance of getting hit by lightning in their lifetime. And a person had a one in 138,849 chance of dying from getting hit by lightning. Tadashi could count himself as either incredibly lucky or unlucky. He would’ve died if it wasn’t for his favorite superhero coming to his rescue.

After the concert ended, he tried to run from the field as everyone looked for shelter from the torrential rain. The thunder was loud enough that it made his heart beat faster in fear. He felt the charge before it hit him. When he was three, he stabbed an electrical socket with a fork, and lightning was that times a hundred.

He blacked out. He gasped awake later, a woman wearing a pink domino mask hovering over him. His whole body hurt. His lungs ached as he tried to breathe.

“Are you okay?” she asked.
