Chapter 66: A Strange Afternoon

SEAMUS

Satin nuzzled his nose into Seamus' hand. Reluctant to leave the comfort of his old friend, the boy buried his face into the horse's neck, breathing in his familiar scent.

His ride with Jonas had been liberating because for a time he could forget about the coming war and the fact he would unlikely ever call Hand home again. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, and soon Jonas had to return for his afternoon lessons.

Waving the groom away, Seamus took care of Satin himself. The rhythmic movement of the brush as he brought Satin's coat up to a brilliant shine had allowed him to forget the rest of the world for a few moments longer.
