Chapter 88: Departure

SEAMUS

Seamus, Aliah, and Dominic walked out of the guest commune and into the clearing in front of the Sanctuary to find Walter, Amelia, and Caraig waiting to send them off. Standing nearby, Emer had four horses saddled and ready with supply bags. When she saw them emerge from the doorway, she walked over and asked Dominic and Aliah to please come with her. They looked at Seamus, who smiled and confirmed they had time. The others followed Emer into the woods, and Seamus turned to Amelia and Walter, who were deep in discussion with Caraig.

'I am happy to stay for a while,' Amelia said to Caraig. 'To look into my seeing and what it means. I believe I am meant to do that, but I cannot see how you think all of this means I am your successor.'

'You are the first seer in your generation to have a true seeing. I have had many apprentices, but none have done what you did,'  Caraig responded. 'You are my best and last hope for someone to follow me.'
