The sun wasn't up yet but the sky was lit. And it made her surroundings illuminate. That's when she viewed those eyes more clearly and that caused her to shiver with fright.

These turquoise eyes were so different: she had never seen such eyes before: they were beautiful yet cold and deadly.

And Anissa knew that she was in a bind. She studied the man's eyes only and kept her thoughts composed despite the hammering of her heart and the adrenaline burst in her veins.

This man was dangerous but despite the apparent danger she could feel from him, she could also feel that he wouldn't harm her. Maybe it was because she could see it in his eyes. This man's eyes were cold as ice but she had seen much colder eyes: those grey eyes that held no humanity or any emotions. But the eyes of this stranger were very human: although there weren't any emotions in them except for hard stern iciness but behind that cold exterior, she could see the underlying compassion.
