"What a desperate woman," said the masked man as my tear of sorrow and agony slipped out of the corner of my eyes. "When you lie to me, you knew that you would be in trouble. Why did you try it?"

I kept my silence. There was no way I was going to say something that would look ridiculous and dishonest. And then he would have me prove it to him, which I cannot.

"Kill me," I called out. "I cannot bear the pain that you bestow upon me. I would rather die than see how you make people suffer."

"Do you think that I am the only one who slays people so mercilessly?" he questioned. "And do you think that this was only a penalty for your lie? This was a lesson for you to harden your heart and know your enemy when you see one."

"Then you and your cousin are my enemies who wish nothing but to raise the torment upon me."
