Caught Between Two Worlds

I stared at the flames around me and then at him, like he was asking me to die for him. I screwed my eyes, fearing that he was also being affected by the devil's powers like his cousin and Aidan. Then I felt a sudden thought say that they were being affected because of me.

He smiled wildly, his teeth gleaming in the red flames that surrounded me. I couldn't understand which version of him I was looking at or whether I was looking at a completely different person.

"It is not what you think it is," he yelled out to me. "I assure you I'm the same person you have known me all your life long. This is a test for you to control your powers as well as use it to free yourself from such a danger."

"How do I do that?" I asked back with narrowed eyes.

"I already leaked the clue to you. All you have to do is follow the same principle in your own way and get out of it without getting yourself burnt."
