Sudden Quest

In a suburb area of Tokyo city, a boy was walking down the street with some thoughts in mind. He was holding an atlas, observing several big cities in Japan.

He crossed a relatively peaceful road in the morning with light steps towards the center of the metropolis.

'Very well, I am now in the capital city. I hope I will meet Miss Fortune in this city. If I can't find her... Should I go to Kyoto? Or Osaka, hmm?' Mike closed his atlas and glanced to the right corner of his vision to see his main quest.

It had been one week since he got the so-called unknown system. During that time, he explored several cities in search of a Miss Fortune. Broadly speaking, he came to visit several places and events where he could find many people there.

He hitchhiked the vehicle transporting vegetables or other agricultural materials several times, helping without pay in return until he finally arrived in the capital city.

Unfortunately, his main quest didn't show any signs. Even the mysterious girl's voice hadn't been heard in his mind since he left Ataraxia Mountain. Only a few Fortune Point increase notifications each time he did an act of kindness.

Mike heaved a sigh, then glanced at his Fortune Point, which had increased by fifteen since last week. Accumulating good karma was not easy, but at least it wasn't in that dangerous bright red color anymore.

'Still rosy, but not too worrying. Perhaps, an instant misfortune will come to me if my Fortune Point is 10 or below? Yes, one week is quite peaceful for me. No senior bullies or other meaningful problems.' Mike hopped in joy. The only problems he had were only his main quest and financial issues.

At that moment, Mike didn't realize what he was going to step on. As he jumped with his little joy, he suddenly fell into a rather deep hole.

"Aaa!"

*Thud*

"Ow!" Mike landed directly on his feet, but the pressure he received made his legs ache and sore. He looked up, then climbed up.

When he got out, Mike sat on the curb, staring at the broken manhole cover. "Just when I feel good, bad luck comes to me? Ow, my leg hurts."

He was still suffering from temporary color blindness. He mistook what he was stepping on was still the ordinary pavement. After all, a manhole cover on the street with an actual hole was equally black in his eyes. Not to mention, the path he took was dark in color and difficult to distinguish.

"Sigh, no one around. It would be better if I put a sign for this broken manhole cover so that there is no unfortunate victim like me." Mike stood up and looked for some wood and stone. He put them around the broken manhole cover and above it too.

After that, he walked away with a slight limp. He brought a stick from a tree branch to check what he was stepping on.

Meanwhile, at a shopping center in the Tokyo downtown area, a young boy and girl strolled side by side. They were followed by two people, a man and a woman dressed in black suits.

At first glance, they were like a lover who had just finished shopping with two bodyguards followed closely right behind. However, the girl seemed annoyed because of the young man.

"Ayaka-chan, where are we going after this? I know a good restaurant. It's almost noon. Let's find some shade." The young man asked the girl while placing his hand on his forehead. The sunlight was hot enough for him.

"Please call me with the '-san' suffix. After all, it was your own fault to come here to catch up with me. Hmph! You can go home now, Akira-san." The girl snorted in contempt, then she handed over her shopping bag to her bodyguard. "Honda, put this in the car, please. We'll go to the shopping center over there afterward."

"At your service, Ayaka-sama." The woman in a black suit immediately carried out the order. After receiving the shopping bag, she went to one of the luxury cars.

"What, seriously? You still want to go shopping again after spending that long at the previous mall?" Akira felt really tired. He wondered if this girl didn't have any fatigue?

"Then, just go home. Don't follow me." Ayaka folded her arms and walked away as if she were going to leave the young man behind.

"Tsk, fine. I'll accompany you." Akira clicked his tongue, annoyed that his crush was so cold to him.

When Ayaka was just leaving the parking area, an unknown man suddenly ran past her. The person kept running as if there was no tomorrow through the bustle of the city streets.

"What an impolite person. He doesn't care about other people. Eh?" Ayaka felt something was missing. She turned to her arm only to see something was missing from there.

"Thief, that man stole my handbag! Aah, my wallet, my smartphone, it's all in there." Ayaka shouted while pointing at the man who kept running.

"Chiko, hurry and catch the thief!" Akira gave an emergency order. At the same time, the bald man in a black suit only nodded and sprinted to catch up with the thief.

Ayaka's bodyguard did not come after the thief even though she heard her young lady calls. She just rushed to her young lady's side.

The surrounding people only became the spectator to watch the thief dashing through the road and a bald man chasing from behind.

On the other side of the road, a boy dressed in white was taking a leisurely stroll with a wooden stick in his hand to ascertain the few spots he was going to step on.

At that moment, Mike saw someone in a black jacket with a hat sprinting towards him from a distance. Even so, he paid no more attention to the man because maybe that man was in a hurry.

Yet, his eyes widened instantly when that man took out a stick and swung it at the people. In addition, he also heard a girl screaming about a thief from a distance.

"Get outta my way!" The thief hit the person who got in his way with great force.

Some innocent people who just happened to be there fell down in pain.

'That man is a martial artist and thief? Each swing from him sent one person flying. Every swing from him seemed to use Spirit Power. Profound Spirit Realm expert?' Mike was in a dilemma between choosing not to get involved or trying to stop the suspicious man.

He didn't have the confidence to stop that man. However, that all changed when a girl's pleasant voice suddenly resounded in his mind, and a notification popped out before his eyes.

'What!? You didn't appear for a week, but now you came to give me such a sudden quest?' Mike shouted in his mind and glanced at the right corner of his vision.

'You forced me!' Mike felt it was cruel. The comparison between the penalty and the reward was so unfair. Nevertheless, he prepared himself to face the thief.

"Get off, disabled boy!" The thief warned the boy, but his gaze went toward the alley, an escape route.

The thief swung his iron stick toward the boy, but the latter had a longer stick than the former.

Mike was eyeing the most vulnerable area for a man. He hit hard on the thief's groin.

*Bonk*

"Ugh!"

The thief growled in pain. However, it wasn't over yet. Mike swung his wooden stick to knock the thief down and then stepped on the thief's hand. At that moment, a bald man immediately approached and locked the thief's joints to keep him on the ground.

Mike stepped back a little, feeling relieved that the battle was over with ease.

Then, a girl in a white dress ran over with a woman in a black suit. Followed by a man in a sky blue suit.

They stopped near the thief, looked at the thief, and then at Mike.

"Damn thief, you dare to steal my girlfriend's handbag. Enjoy your wonderful time in jail later." Akira kicked the thief, then took the white handbag. "Ayaka-chan, this is your handbag."

"Hmph, I'm not your girlfriend." Ayaka took her handbag from Akira's hand. Then, gave her attention to the young man with a wooden stick again.

She felt sympathy for this young man. He was young and brave, but he could not see the beauty of the world even though his eyes were as blue as the broken sky.

"Honda, please call an ambulance for those injured people too." Ayaka looked back at the four people who were moaning in pain on the ground.

Before Honda had a chance to respond, three police cars came and stopped near them.
