Chapter 3

*Adam's room, Holy Spirit Village*

Lying on his bed Adam ponders.

According to the information I got from this ring it originally should be only a World Tree Seed somehow bound to me but thanks to the Spirit Power found in the Douluo Dalu world, it evolved and became one of my material spirits. The World Ring transmitted to me basic information about its own abilities. There are 3 in total and every one of them is quite interesting.

The first ability is <>. It's similar yet different from my meditation method. I can <> anything that contains life force to the World Tree, meaning that I have to kill something and give it to the World Tree. In doing so World Tree absorbs everything (body, blood, bones, spirit rings, spirit bones) and converts it into pure life force. Afterwards, depending on my choice it either stores the life force or uses it to passively nurture everything inside World Tree Dimension and when we talk about <> there is actually more than one way of sacrificing Spirit Rings. The first one just converts Spirit Rings into even more life force, pretty simple right? But it is the second one which gives me a headache. In most simple terms, I can sacrifice said Spirit Rings to upgrade World Tree's own Spirit Ring. Yeah, from this I can deduce that World Tree simply won't accept any Spirit Rings aside from the <>, meaning that it should have its own unique growth path and exactly this is the cause of my headache. I don't have any information about how many Spirit Rings I need to sacrifice to get 1 White Ring on the world tree. Exchange one for one definitely wouldn't be called a <>.

Coming back to abilities, the next one is <>. Thanks to this ability I can use the Life Force to heal myself, it seems extremely similar to my meditation method where I absorbed life energy from plants around me but this time it is an active skill, aside from this with enough practice, I should be able to heal others. This ability looks quite overpowered but it has a major drawback, I can only manipulate the life force I absorbed through meditation or already stored inside the World Tree.

The third one though is really useful, it's a <>. This ability doesn't need any Spirit Power to maintain it. Its only requirement is having World Ring summoned. This domain lets me sense and interacts with things inside of it.

For now, Domain covers the World Tree Dimension and a radius of 5 meters around me.

With it, I can easily sense things around me and this include plants, till now I had only a vague feeling that some plants are stronger than others but now? I can now sense the exact amount of life force, aside from this. I can roughly sense things around me.

It is not very useful because I need to use an extreme amount of Focus even for sensing these rough images. I still believe that with time and proficiency I will be able to use it in battle.

When it comes to interacting with things, it gets even harder. I can't really send my Spirit Power out of my body, yet, so the only things I can actually use with the World Tree's Domain are its own abilities.

In short, I can use Sacrifice on anything that I killed as long as it's inside of the Domain which can definitely increase my efficiency during hunts. And lastly, I can use Life Force Manipulation inside of World Tree Domain.

Becoming a healer suddenly seems an even greater idea, doesn't it?

'Nah, with Rose in my hand I definitely don't want to become a healer'

And here comes a surprise, because I originally had only one material spirit and the other is somehow artificially made, I can use both of them at the same time.

The World Ring should be a gift mentioned by R.O.B. in that flashback. And Black Rose my prized weapon from my first life.

Thinking so I once again look at the black beauty of the weapon in my right hand.

'Netherworld's Black Rose'

*Sigh*

'Although I don't know exactly why looking at it I get such melancholic feeling it's definitely a great weapon'

Now now, this weapon is great it isn't powerful at all. It just has great potential and versatility. On its own, it has only one ability, <>. This one ability is divided into two.

The first part is <>, every time I pull the trigger it will take a bit of my Spirit Power to create a bullet. The power of this bullet depends only on the purity and Rank of my Spirit Power which means that they will get stronger alongside me.

The second part is actual <> where I can prepare up to twenty bullets with different effects. Although this sounds very ordinary, according to my few memories of the fight with Black Rose, it is extremely powerful.

As long as I spend some time and find the right way I should be able to create <> or <> and even <> are possible. At least these were the examples I could see in that pack of memories.

And when it comes to the limit of twenty premade bullets, this limit should also grow alongside the number of Spirit Rings bound to it.

But even after saying all that I think that without using <> or <> I would be unable to deal any kind of damage to people at my Rank, not to mention people stronger than me or Spirit Beasts.

"Adam! Are you are finally awake!"

Old Jack's voice brings me out of my thoughts. After a second or so I dismissed Black Rose which was currently in my right hand.

"Finally? How long was I out?"

Jack hesitates a little before answering.

"It's already the third day, if you haven't woken up by now I would go to Nuodong Academy only with Tang San."

Hearing so I was extremely startled. Missing out on enrollment would mess up a lot of my ideas.

"So I almost missed the enrollment date?"

"Yes but don't worry even if you don't go with us today you can still apply for next year. At least that's what master Su Yuntao said."

Missing out an entire year at the academy and staying at this village without any prospects for upgrading my skills? I really didn't want to think how bored would I be now that I could easily find any herb perhaps in a few weeks I would have emptied the entire forest.

For now, I don't have any idea how to improve myself or what kind of rings should I choose for Black Rose, not to mention that in the last 1,5 year of my adventures I meet only one ten-year-old Spirit Beast.

I really need to attend the Nuodong Academy, a few question for Grandmaster Xiagang could easily answer many of my problems.

"No, Im fine. Can you give me a few minutes to pack up?"

"Are you sure? Y..."

Before he could continue I cut in.

"Yes, I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me Old Man."

My words definitely didn't do much against his worried gaze but eventually, he agreed. Before setting out he asked me to meet with him and Tang San at village gates in 15 minutes.

Now that I was once again alone I stood up and went towards the table. I don't own much, three sets of poorly made clothes, one pair of boots and this metal case containing my little fortune.

In the spur of the moment, I decided to place the case with around 70 gold coins inside the World Ring only to dismiss it afterwards.

After packing my clothes into a bag I picked it up and tied it to my left arm.

'It's time to check if my gold is still there'

And so I once again summoned my World Ring only to smile afterwards.

'Sure enough, it retains items after being dismissed, it would be quite weird if it had such restriction'

Fortunately, my little experiment went well otherwise I would have lost all of my gold coins.

'Curious, was I a gambler during second life?'

Thinking about it I left my room and headed towards village gates.
