The bright and cheerful atmosphere calmed down at once and all the snakes buried themselves under the snow and hid themselves.
Within a span of five seconds, the place that was filled with around hundred snakes turned back to the deserted place where nothing could be seen except the thick layer of white and fluffy snow.
Tanzi was stunned at the speed of these slick beings and turned her head to face the one that scared everyone away with just his voice alone.
What looked back into her eyes were a pair of dark green eyes that had a special magnetic pull in them.
It made her speechless and frozen in her place. To come back to her senses, she had increased her body temperature a little and then took a deep breath before looking back at the face in front of her.
The man's face was definitely handsome and attractive.
As she was busy looking at his face which was face to face with hers, she saw his face slowly moving upwards.
That is when her eyes fell below her face and on his body.
This man is not standing on his feet. Instead he was a Serpent Man with his lower body having the body of a snake.
When he saw that she had seen his Serpent body, his lips curved upwards as he studied her face clearly.
With his serpent body, he moved silkily around her and checked her from top to toe and from front to back. He did not feel ashamed looking at her so directly at all as he had circled around her a couple of times as if he was looking at his newly found toy to play with.
Once he finished studying her with his eyes, he raised his hand to shamelessly tuck her hair away from her face behind her ears.
When his eyes fell on her pointed ears his grin widened, "Oh! An Elf? An Elf came to my lair by herself? Hmm! Interesting. Do you belong to the Elven colony that was around sixty miles away from here?"
Tanzi frowned when she heard his words. How does he know about the Elven colony?
But she did not ask him any questions. She felt that this man was dangerous. It is always better to stay safe when one senses any danger in front of them.
She doesn't know how far her home was from this place. But when she recalled the Merman's instructions, she had a rough idea of how far it could be.
She was sure that it would be around fifty to sixty miles away from here. Hence she knew that the Elven colony that this Serpent man was talking about was her place.
She lowered her head and softly nodded in agreement.
"Hmm.. Then what is an Elf from that place doing here?" He asked again, looking at her with keen interest.
While speaking he did not move away from her and his voice almost sounded near her ears, his breath falling on her skin causing goosebumps all over.
She wants to back away from him but he placed his hand over her face pinching her chin in a tight grip, making it difficult for her in doing so.
She dodged his eyes as she was scared of the dark green in them that could make her go into a trance like a magical spell binding her in chains.
She softly muttered, "I came here for flowers."
He neared her and asked her again, "What? I can't hear you, Elf."
Tanzi took a deep breath and repeated her words, "I am here to collect some flowers."
He raised an eyebrow and asked again, "Flowers? What flowers?"
Tanzi did not say the name but she raised her hand and pointed her finger towards the bunch of Pandanus plants that were freely lying around.
"Those flowers?" He asked in disgust. After all, he had stayed here for years and thus seen those flowers all year long growing everywhere they could. Hence for him, the Pandanuses turned into some type of weeds that grew along with some waste grass.
When he saw that Tanzi nodded her head to his question, he asked again, "You actually travelled sixty miles on foot to grab a bunch of these waste flowers? An Elf had to travel to the Serpent lair to get a bunch of flowers? How special are these flowers?"
Tanzi bit her lips and did not reply. She was somehow scared that if she spoke to this man, she would be eaten alive in the next second.
The Serpent man saw that she had no intention to answer his question and asked another question, "What do you need these flowers for?"
His voice turned serious at this question showing that he would not allow her not answering for this like the last one.
But how could Tanzi say that she needs them to make a potion? She was now an Elf after all.
