Who is the Boss Now?!

Diving in the sky, a massive bird-like creature surveys the surroundings under its watch.

*Rattle!*

The shades of the trees underneath shook a little, and it feels strange, "What's down there?," says the Ave as it flies downward.

Once It got to the ground, it concentrated its sense of hearing to capture any sound that may arise, but there was none.

Unknown to this creature, Allyn and the rest are keeping themselves hidden, using the trees in the area.

*BaDum! BaDum!! BaDum!!*

"I see," The Ave muttered.

Allyn's anxious heartbeats resounded, and did not escape the ears…

"Show yourself!" says the Ave, "Your heartbeat just gave you off,"

"F*ck!" Allyn cursed under his breath.

They haven't even gone that far yet, and the mission is about to go south.

"I can tell you're alone, so don't play that game,"

Allyn isn't alone, but it somehow hasn't noticed the others just yet. The look on their faces informed Allyn that the Ave is finding its way to his location.

"You should know never to mess with the likes of us," The Ave spoke proudly while still trying to identify where the heartbeat was coming from…

*Rattle!*

"There you are," it muttered and darts towards the suspicious sound. However, the Ave found nothing…

*Swoosh!*

*Ffftttt!!*

In an instant, a silver blade slit off the creature's head, killing it in one go. This is Allyn's doing.

"Why the hell did you that?" Claudex seemed anxious.

"What choice do I have? Either I kill it or I get killed,"

"He has a point," Baron says in support of Allyn, "However, we have to get rid of this body,"

"There is no space to bury it around here without bringing attention to ourselves," says Diesel.

Allyn sighed, as what he is about to do was something he feels he shouldn't. But with no other option at the moment, here goes nothing;

"I'll handle this," he said and then made contact with the large Bird. Just like that, the dead being disappeared right into Allyn's in-game storage space.

The group was taken aback by this and they all blankly stared at him…

"A Void storage device," Diesel mumbled.

"Who would have expected you to have those with you," says Cassius.

"We should get moving, we don't have all day," Claudex brought the group back to their senses.

They continued onward, but this time, Allyn also activated at least the helmet of the mecha_suit, as he would need it to detect any life form, just in case they encounter something that should be avoided.

He also stayed behind the group, since switching from the helmet of the Macha_suit to his mask may, at some point, reveal his face. He still needs to stay anonymous.

"Be careful," Allyn whispered.

"What do you mean?" they asked.

"Something is over there, a lot of them,"

"How did you know?_"

"It doesn't matter, I know something is over there, so be careful,"

"He is right," says Diesel.

He is a little further away from the rest of the group and the look on his face is giving bad vibes.

They ran in his direction, and there it was, an unexpected sight to behold…

"That's not possible. We haven't even gone deep enough," says Baron in dismay.

Giant spiders are up ahead, roaming around. Their numbers are mind-boggling…

"Them again?" Allyn is especially troubled by this sight. He had killed one of those recently.

"These creatures were never here according to my research,"

"Then they must have just moved over," Claudex said, "They just had to pick the right time to do so,"

"How the hell do we get past them? It would be a shame if we had to give up at a time like this,"

"I will have to attract their attention towards me. You guys should go on," Baron volunteered.

"We can't continue if you aren't present with us," Cassius objected.

"You're getting the wrong idea. I don't plan on dying now or anytime soon. I'll meet up with you guys later on, but someone needs to get them out of the way... and that should be me."

"Do they feed on flesh?" Allyn asked.

"No, they are vegetarian," Diesel replied in sarcasm.

"Point taken," Allyn understands how ridiculous he sounded just now.

"I'll come with you," he said.

"That won't be necessary_"

"I have a plan!" Allyn quickly interrupted, "Let's attract their attention. I know what to do from there on." His words were convincing enough, and Baron nodded in agreement.

"Very well," he said, "Then we should get to work,"

.

.

.

Among the hordes of Spider, two unidentified individuals walked in their direction nonchalantly. For a sec, the creatures weren't sure why these shitty humans had the guts to do so (if only preys could be this generous).

*Growl!!*

Letting their glutinous hunger take over, the giant Spider launched at Allyn and Baron, ready to devour them.

"Run!"

Baron dashed as fast as he can with Allyn tailing right behind him as several predators went after them…

"So what now?!" said Baron.

"We should extend the distance between ourselves and those creatures, or my plan is meaningless," Allyn said in reply.

*GRROOOWLLL!!*

Not willing to be left behind, the Spiders stamped over each other as they try to go ahead of their counterpart.

"These creatures are fast!!" Allyn commented.

"Yeah, eight limbs aren't there for nothing." Baron could not imagine how hard it would have been if he had to do this alone. Thank goodness Allyn had volunteered to join him.

. . .

"Shit!!"

Diesel cursed under his breath, "Why the hell are they still here?" he said.

Some Spiders did not take the bait, so there are still a few who were left behind.

"Looks like we'll have to eliminate these ourselves," says Claudex.

She is one of the bravest among the team, with Diesel as the coward.

"Are you crazy?" Diesel exclaimed, "You make it sound so easy,"

"Dude, there are just five of them left," Cassius said.

"So f*cking what?!" Diesel wasn't buying it in the slightest.

"Baron risked his life to get us to safety, why are acting like an idiot?!"

"Because he did not do a great job," Diesel defended.

"Let's go Claudex, leave this coward behind,"

Fixing gloves in her fist, Claudex nodded in reply... she is ready for battle.

*Grroowwll!!*

Noting two humans heading their way, all five giant Spiders attacks at once.

Claudex's arm glowed in yellow bright light as she leaps with an impressive feat and sent a powerful blow to one spider, inflicting reasonable damage to it.

She aims to destroy as much of its eyesight as possible and she succeeded by multiplying her blows on the creature.

Squeaking in pain, the Spider desperately tried to knock Claudex off. However, she held on tightly and continued destroying every single sight organ belonging to the Spider.

Blinding the poor creature, she went after a second one.

"Damn, such power." Diesel is indeed astonished by her display.

Cassius wasn't bad either, but he had a much harder time dealing with these creatures. Using the trees as a stepping stone, he successfully landed on top of his opponents and violently to stab the beast.

A silky tread sticks to him and pulled him off the Spider's head, pasting him to a wall...

"Web!"

Cassius realized he had messed up. He should have been conscious of the fact that these Spiders might use webs.

Unable to get himself out, Cassius could only watch as the eight limb creature walks towards him.

"Damn it," Cassius cursed.

Never would he have imagined he would die this way. This is so pathetic.

"HEY, YOU!"

A male voice resounded from a distance, and it got the Spider's attention towards him.

"Diesel?" Cassius mumbles, "What's his plan?"

The Spider is contemplating what to do. Should it attack Cassius who cannot move it or go after Diesel, who seems to ask for it... Nah, the Spider decides it would start with Cassius first.

But then again, Diesel is casually coming towards it, looks like he is truly desperate to die and the Spider got interested in this individual.

"This is my ultimate attack," Diesel kept himself in check, to not make it obvious that he was terrified.

"I am supposed to save this for later use," he said as he pulls out a strange arrow strapped to his back along with his bow.

*Beep! Beep!! Beep!!*

The arrow began making beeping sounds while Diesel locks on his target.

*Pew!!*

Letting go of the strings, the arrow tore its way and pierced the creature through one of its eyes.

*Beep! Beep!! Beep!!*

*KaBOOOOOOOMMM!!*

The arrow exploded, blasting the creature's face into oblivion. That explains the beeping sound it had been making all the while.

"YES! who's the boss now?!!" says Diesel in excitement.

The creature wasn't dead though but was having a hard time until Claudex punches a hole through it, effectively putting it out of its misery.
