22. Shifters

Noah POV

I have done everything for my mate Nessi and my Luna.

But this.

How could things have come to this.

My luna is now my packs enemy and my mate is now on deaths door for betraying my Alpha.

And it is all her fault.

'She is our Luna, do not do something you will regret.' Clay tried to reason with me.

"If you knew what she intends for our pack you might want to rip her head off yourself." I snapped back at him.

'Noah, she is Luna. That's all I need to know. Besides your thoughts are my own. You know she has a plan to get us all out of danger.' Clay was still being loyal to her.

How could he be though?

She was reckless, disobedient to our Alpha, careless with her life and the pack members, hot tempered.

How could someone such as this hold such a high place in my mates life.

I know they grew up together, but I know Nessi was not as blatant as she.

I was furious.

She attacked my Alpha too many times for me to let it slide.

She tried to have him killed.

She even sided with Jason-the one who tortured us for almost a year.

Whether or not she killed him in the end doesn't matter to me.

It was because of her everything has happened to our pack.

And injecting Alpha Cain with pure wolfsbane was the last straw.

He could very well have died from that pure of a strain.

Even the toughest wolves can not stand the oils of that ratchet plant.

And She-she injected him without flinching.

I didn't know her plan, but right now it seems as if she is trying to kill Alpha Cain and have her son take the pack.

That would mean that she would be ruling us until baby Micheal became of age.

She would have an entire pack at her disposal if anyone crossed her.

This I could not allow.

IF it is her intention to have the pack under her rule I needed to stop her.

I had to save my pack.

She could very well be pretending to have a plan and simply leaving to make an arrangement with the person who wants her son dead.

I didn't want anything to happen to baby Micheal either, but if there was a side plan I needed to hear her myself before I have to stop her.

But my wolf, Clay, was still trying to protect her.

He had waited so long to have a Luna to protect.

I just wish it wasn't Andrea.

'She is a true Luna, and trust me you will have us both punished if you continue to think the Luna will hand over our Alpha to be killed.'

"She could want us all dead. She refuses to tell us anything."

I was getting angry.

I hardly spoke to her as we walked, I barely ate.

Only because if I stopped to eat she could escape and carry out whatever plan she had.

We were only hours from the Blood Hunter gates.

I wanted to hurry and get to the gates.

"Move Faster!" I called to Andrea.

She was bound with her hands behind her back.

And had the rope around her neck.

I didn't need her strangling me with her binds.

I gave a slight tug but it must have been too much for her.

Next thing I knew, Andrea was falling forward.

For a moment I nearly ran to help her, but I remembered why she needed help.

I needed to hold my ground, I did not want her to think I'm weak and try to over power me.

"We are almost there, quit dragging this out"

She looked at me, but she wasn't mad.

The look on her face shocked me, it was like she understood why I was doing this.

But again I straightened up and held on to the rope firm.

"Just await a minute, I just need to get to my feet."

She had no hint of anger to her voice, she was calm.

It confused me a bit, but she is the daughter of an Alpha, so I'm sure that's why she can't show any sign of defeat.

"GET UP OR I'LL DRAG YOU! Either way I don't care!"

I was angry, but more frustrated with having to walk the entire way here.

And it was all because I had to keep her in her human form.

If I allowed her to shift I wouldn't stand a chance.

SO just like how she injected Cain with wolfsbane I did the same to her.

But at a more diluted level.

At least this way I didn't have to carry her.

I was just about to tell her to get a move on, but I heard them.

Rouges!

I immediately made sure that if they were coming to take her that I would get away.

I needed to stay alive so that when Cain asked me I can report to him on what his Luna had done.

The betrayal is sure enough to scar him but he needed to know.

"Noah!"

I heard Andrea yell to me.

But I was already aware of them.

As they approached I noticed them stalking towards us from the rear and sides.

Not the front.

So they must know why we are here and going to take us back to the pack house.

I kept tugging at the rope to make sure they knew I wasn't taking her side in this exchange.

I was keeping up with everyone just fine but Andrea started to struggle, maybe I should have stopped to eat once more before we got too close to the gates.

I felt a sharp tug at the rope and turned to see Andrea on her knees trying to catch her breath.

But before I could say anything one of the rogues got to her first.

He took hold of her hair and tried to pull her up to stand.

"No one gave you permission to be weak." One of the rouges said with the other still holding on to her hair.

Andrea yelled a bit but she managed to get to her feet.

I guess I should have gone a little easy with the wolfsbane.

When we came to the gates we were greeted by a very muscular man who had two women by his sides.

Seeing him there made me wonder how he could possibly be related to Jason.

He looked nothing like him.

Both women, in fact looked to be more like Jason then the man.

Maybe they are relatives of his.

We all stood there for a moment until one of the ladies spoke up.

"We have been waiting. What took so long?"

She wasn't really talking to me but I stepped forward.

"I have been injecting her with wolfsbane essence, so that she won't shift. We had to walk this whole way on foot"

I informed her.

Maybe this will allow them to grant me safe passage.

"Good. Give her another injection right now."

The other lady looked to Andrea, unmoving not even blinking.

The shorter lady was still staring at me but had a small smile at the corner of her lips.

I didn't want to question them, so I stuck a needle into Andreas arm.

Seeing as how I had already given her a dose a little over an hour ago I didn't want to push her into death.

After I injected the wolfsbane Andrea gave a small scream of pain but managed to hold herself upright.

"Do you have another?" The taller lady asked again.

"Yes"

"Then give her another."

I hesitated for a moment.

Surely they didn't want her dead within seconds of arriving.

So I had to inform them of the previous doses she has already had.

"I've already given her one an hour ago, if I give her another it will stop her heart."

The lady looked irritated, still she held out her hand.

This time I didn't wait, I gave her the syringe.

I was standing there waiting for her to inject Andrea again but she never did.

Instead I see her plunge the needle into a wolf to her right.

The guy fell to his knees and started screaming.

"Shift!" She demanded from him.

But by the look of it he was in too much pain to focus on shifting at the moment.

"I said Shift!"

I couldn't tell but so far I knew she wasn't a person to cross.

And it seems like she was the one to obey.

"I c..ca..can't" the rogue managed to get out.

"Monitor him, once he is able to shift I want to know" She snapped at the other rogues.

They took him and headed for the side of the pack house.

"Welcome home Luna Andrea" she snickered towards Andrea.

Andrea looked as if she was trying to figure the mysterious lady out as well.

I need to find out what to call them, but for now I knew not to mess with the shorter lady.

"Come, lets get out of this heat. To the house."

She said to the taller lady and the man to her left.

The lady gave a small nod and turned, the guy however stood there.

He had his eyes fixed of Andrea.

Watching her every move.

Andrea was moving a bit slower, her dose wasn't for at least 7 hours.

Having injected them too close together had weakened her so much.Next thing I know I was being approached by the man.

He extend his hand but never saying a word.

Taking hold of the rope and began to lead Andrea to the pack house.

Never saying a word, not even a noise.

But I followed, making sure that Andrea didn't have to be dragged.

He must have been well over 6'6".

It seemed it took all of Andreas strength to keep up with him.

Thankfully for her it was a short walk.

I was eager to get inside.

I wanted to see what shape my pack was in.

Once we entered the halls I saw no one I recognized.

There were dozens of males and twice as many females and not one from my own pack.

Where were they being kept?

I needed to get to my pack.

Andrea was still being led to the front where the podium usually was.

So I followed.

That's when I sensed it.

There was an Alpha in the room.

Similar to Andrea's Alpha blood.

I couldn't tell where it was coming from.

But there was also something else.

It was faint.

Like another Alpha, no!

Two lower blood Alphas.

That made three in this room besides Andrea.

The power coming off the stronger Alpha was hitting me.

Not enough to make me submit but enough to let me know of what they were.

"Here she is."

Shouted the taller lady.

Suddenly I heard Andrea, taking in a sharp breath.

"YOU?"

She knew this person.

How?

And what did she do to cross them.

"Well, Well, Well"

The taller lady again stepped forward.

"What did I tell you my love. She has always been weak. And her son will be weak."

She was cooing in his ear like he was a pup.

"Yes, of course. I am saving both packs from the little weakling heir."

He smiled to her and turned to Andrea.

"I'm sorry you had to find out this way. But your son will never become king or Alphas of all Alphas"

He stood towards her.

"It is my duty as future Alpha to protect the packs and save them from a future threat. So as noble as it is to offer up your life to save your son, I'm afraid I'll have to kill you as well."

"Why? He hasn't done anything wrong. He has me and his father to guide him."

Andrea was angry but she spoke so calmly.

"His father? Please. You didn't know who his father was until a week ago. You are not a Luna, your not Alpha blood, heck your not even a mother. You brought so much regret to everyone who has ever helped you. And I'm not going to make the mistake on letting you live to take some future revenge."

I had no idea what was between these two but I had to buy my time to ask about the future of my pack.

I didn't want to interrupt and cause them more pain if it comes to it.

"YOU ARE NOT ALPHA! SOMEONE LIKE YOU COULD NEVER BE AN ALPHA. GOING AFTER AN INNOCENT PUP ALL BECAUSE YOU ARE SCARED."

Andrea was seething now.

If she didn't have so much wolfsbane in her she might have turned.

"I'm scared of no one. And I will be alpha. Once I kill OUR father."

At that he turned back to the tall lady.

'Our father???'

Andrea had one sibling.

Nessi told me he was on travel to learn the names of the Were Counsel leaders.

And suppose to be Alpha on his 18th birthday.

But with everything happening to Andrea, and the packs no one had the time to plan a proper ascending ceremony.

That was Andreas younger brother.

Kyle!!
