24. Sibling Choas

Caly POV

I was panicking.

I couldn't believe what I had just seen.

"What happened? Are you ok? Hello? Caly? CALY?"

I could hear Darin calling for me, but my mind felt it was beyond this world.

My heart sank deeper and deeper into a hole I was digging within myself.

We Skinwalkers, tend to keep to ourselves.

We never wanted to partake in the pack worlds.

We craved invisibility.

But what I just saw.

Andrea, lead by one of her own to sacrifice herself for the sake of her son and future of her pack, was tossed at the foot of Elder Mother.

I did not understand.

How could she toss aside all that we stood for, to get our kind mixed up with werewolves of all species.

They were hot headed and dealt with nuisance with a swift strike to the neck.

We are a quiet tribe, mere folklore, tall tales, the bed time story to scare children, we are the shadow that follow you, we are not the performers that every other Were pack exploit.

I was livid, I devoted my being to Andrea when she first came to us. I cared for her and she became my friend.

I lived the stories she told me, I showed her our world.

I was there for the birth of her son, the blessing that the Were community thought to be our savior.

I was there when he first cried, when he first gazed to the heavens welcoming the darkness and the hue of the moon.

I protected him, I bonded to him as I would have if he were my Alpha.

All because Elder mother deemed it destiny!

Destiny?

Complete and utter bullsh*t!

I was angry!

I was on the verge of going to the darkness.

I needed to know what Elder Mother's plan was.

There had to be a reason.

And if there weren't, well let's just say, Elder Mother keeps me isolated for a reason.

"Caly?…." Darin stared at me. Eyes opened wide I feared they would pop right out of their sockets.

I then realized that I was still in vape form.

Darin continued to stare.

Unknowing that I was most dangerous in this form.

My emotions were getting the best of me and I had no control.

I wanted to pull myself together, literally.

But I could not for the life of me, begin to calm myself.

"Darin.." I started to say.

"Darin, I need to do something. It's dangerous and my life will end if I am caught. I'm sorry."

"What? What do you mean?.." He seemed genuinely worried.

But there was no time.

I needed to travel as fast as possible and Darin would slow me down.

I was going on the run and I needed no ties to the real world for the time being.

I didn't know what Elder Mother's plan was but I knew for certain that the darkness has taken her.

Andrea was sacrificing herself for a better future for her pack, her son, the Were world.

And now I must do the same.

I held out my hand to Darin.

"Are we going somewhere?" He asked a little hesitant .

"Not we, just me."

And I grabbed him and slipped a piece of sodalite stone in his hand powered with ground Valerian root.

And old and forgotten native trick.

When he fell to the ground, I quickly returned to my one body and grabbed everything I needed.

'Elder mother can not get her hands on Micheal.' I muttered to myself.

'I can not stop you head on but I can foil your plan.'

'I will ward against you every step of the way, you will not be the down fall of us all'

'Andrea forgive me for this.'

I worried that she may take what I am about to do as a sign of war, but this needed to be done.

I pray to the creator that she will understand.

I don't understand myself and I was the one about to commit the most forbidden crime against another.

I was going to kidnap baby Micheal.

Andrea POV

"You can't be here." I yelled to the one person I never thought I had to worry about.

My brother.

Kyle.

He was suppose to be safe 1,000 miles from anywhere but here.

But there he sat, smirking at me like he was enjoying the sight of me in ropes bound like a stray dog.

There was another.

A female Were that hung ever so close to him, whispering in his ear.

If I didn't have so much wolfsbane in my system I would have been able to hear what she was telling him.

"Kyle. Brother. What are you doing here?"

GRRRRRRRRRRR…

"DO NOT ADDRESS MY MATE SO LOWLY YOU WHORE OF A MUTT!" The short haired Were directed at me.

"He is my brother, I will address him as my brother." I didn't care who she thought she was.

"It is fine my sweet. She is after all of my blood." My brother stood walking towards me slowly.

"What's going on Kyle? Do you know who these people are?"

I tried to get Kyle to at least talk to me but he seemed irritated by my mere presence.

"No,Hi how are you?, How have you been? Or am I safe? You jumped straight into trying to save your own hide! But of course you have plenty of defenses trying to protect yourself from everything but your shadow now days."

He didn't seem concerned, or even showed the smallest of conflicted emotions seeing his sister in such a state as I was in.

'He is with them Andrea' Siaya huffed.

"No, Siaya he would never. He has no reason to side with unknown wolves. I bet he doesn't know what's really going on." I tried to stay hopeful.

"Kyle I did miss you, I prayed that you remained safe and far from the drama that is my life." I tried to make him feel anything but the stone expressions his face was unmoving.

"I am here because I was told to hand over my newborn son. The heir to the Blood hunter pack. I don't know if they told you but that's why I came, I wanted to see who was behind this set up."

"So? What do you think sister? Who do you think is behind this whole facade. Take a wild guess dear sister."

The look he gave me was enough to run a shutter down my spine.

I never looked away from his stare.

Because, the straight, unblinking glare with a hint of 'I dare you', I knew.

He was behind this whole thing.

Taking the pack, tormenting the upper class, demanding to have my sons head for the sake of his son...….wait!

He couldn't be the one that called.

The voice specifically stated that they wanted Micheal, they wanted Cain's son for killing his son.

HE.

It was a male, I knew it wasn't my brother that made the call.

There was another pulling the strings, and perhaps this Were girl knew who.

I had to try and lure the real puppet master out from the shadows.

I needed to piss him off to get him to spill what he knows.

Sorry brother, you leave me no choice.

"Well I know it isn't you. You are always 10 steps behind me brother."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY!" He seethed.

Clearly I was getting on his bad side.

He threw tantrums more then a 2 year old.

It wasn't hard to piss him off.

What was hard was getting him to divulge every secret he knew.

"I grew up with you Kyle, I know that you are short tempered and generally don't think about what you are doing. So I know planning things out is beyond your capabilities."

I wasn't wrong but I also hated having to talk down to him like this.

He was always the one getting me out of trouble and helping me when our dad gave me stricter rules then him.

Kyle was always the one I went to for advise when my then boyfriend Darren and I were having trouble.

He was always there for me.

But seeing him here now, fueled me.

I wanted to smack him around a bit until he was the brother I grew up with.

"Don't think for one second that you know the real me. You know what I allow you to know. Along with everyone else in our lives." Kyle turned and headed back towards the makeshift throne I'm guessing he requested for my special appearance.

"What do you mean? You're the same person that hates brussel sprouts, that refuses to sleep facing the closet, that cries with me at a sad movie. You haven't changed, just the people you are trying to impress has changed." He wasn't happy with what I revealed.

The entire room was whispering and chuckling about what they learned about their new friend.

But it made him stop, turn and glare directly at me.

Maybe he was right, and I didn't know him at all.

"You want to know why I want your son! I want to bleed him, until he is no longer a threat to my Alpha position at Blood Rain. THAT PACK IS MINE! Your wretched little basta*d will never see tonights moon. I have already ordered his death. There are many at home that would rather see me in the Alpha seat rather than dear old dad. He has gotten old. His being too lenient with the rules. He's gone soft on those that need to be dealt with swiftly. But with my rule I will merge Echo Moon and Blood Rain to become the new ruler of the largest pack in the world. Everyone here is helping me to claim MY pack, first get rid of any who might have a claim to my position, and then assassinate the old Alpha. And with them all with me, we will kill all those that try to ruin our new and improved pack. So, sister you can either hand over the little brat and call me Alpha of Alphas or you can die here and now and your son will still die. Choose wisely. You have 30 seconds."

He spun around and took a seat back down by the she wolf.

His monologue gave me enough time to come up with a plan of my own.

"I don't need time to decide brother. Kill the little brat. He was a curse since the moment I found out that he was in my belly. He has only ever caused me trouble. And he's just a few weeks old. He is weak now and he doesn't have any power to over throw you. End him so All will know I side with you. I will always side with you brother."

Kyle looked at me puzzled.

Like he was trying to find out my angle.

But really all I was doing was buying time to be able to put my plan in motion.

"You lead with your heart sister. I do not believe that you are serious about handing him over. Why would you give up your heir to your pack? Why are you willing to sacrifice him?"

He really didn't trust me and that was fine, because I really didn't trust him either.

"I do have a request though. If you really want my son."

I looked at him directly.

I was heaving and visibly pissed off.

"I knew it wouldn't be easy. What do you want sister?"

"I want you to also kill Alpha Cain. He will never leave us alone once we take his child. This will guarantee that Blood Hunter will fall to me. The savior Luna. And we can merge all three packs and take the rest off the Northern packs by force. That is my only request. Either you kill both my mate and son or you can kill me now and deal with them on your own. You have 10 seconds to decide!"

I started at him.

All he did was laugh.

"SEE!!! YOU ALL SEE!!! THERE IS MY SISTER. WORTHY OF HER OWN PACK. A LUNA PACK. She will be my greatest conquer yet."

"WAIT!!!" I shouted.

Everyone turned to face me.

"Get Noah to the pack cells so that he can never leave here!" I turned to face Noah who was seething at me.

Full well knowing the entirety of the plan that I had just given.

But it wasn't his time to come in on my plan. I needed to pull this off perfectly.

Some guards came forward.

"Shall we just kill him now?" They asked, most likely blood hungry.

"No, I need him. Nessi is his mate and we can lure her to our side. Brother you know as well as I do no one can defend this pack and us better than she can. She is a Betas daughter after all."

I knew he would agree with me on this.

He always like Nessi but she was older and only saw him as a little brother.

"Nessi is his mate? Hummmmm….well looks like my plan to have her at my side will have to wait a bit."

Noah growled but the men holding him didn't let him budge.

"Take him to the cells. I want him to witness everything from his old life will be mine. And then maybe I will be generous enough to kill you. Just do me a favor and try not to take the fun out of it and end yourself before then."

At that, the men holding Noah beat him and dragged him off.

"What about my offer brother! You never gave me a direct answer."

"I'll do as you ask sister. Consider yourself free from the burden ties from the priestess. Now. Welcome to the IRE CREST PACK."
