According to Plan

Kali's original plan was to save Luna but somehow she ended up saving another one.

Just like Luna, the small creature is not in its best condition. She is not sure of the gender but its fur is white as snow with a red dot in its forehead. It is curled into a ball and hiding its face. It is no bigger than Luna.

Kali carefully removes their collars.

'These collars?' She frowned as she felt the material.

It is the same as the walls back at the casino. The special kind of stone, The Gresha metal stones that absorbs mana.

The white fur ball is motionless but after removing its collar its breathing became soft as if it felt a little comfort. Luna weakly opened his eyes and dragged its frail body near Kali to cuddle at her side. She carried Luna and placed him in her bed. She also carried the white creature carefully and gave it to the other part of the bed.

"Can I give them a potion?" Kali asked Vico.

'Do what you wish."

Kali clicked her tongue. She glanced again at the sleeping creatures.

'This feels like trouble.'

"Good work today Vico, rest and tomorrow is another tiring day."

Kali removed her cloak and threw it at her inventory as she walked past Vico. She lay down on the couch and closed her eyes. Vico looked over two small beasts in a large bed and one full grown woman resting on the slim couch.

". . ."

****

Today is the day, shoes and accessories arrived in the mansion. Kali is feeling more drained today than ever. Since yesterday her dress design was chosen, today she has to choose shoes and accessories.

"Master Kali has no sense of fashion." Rissa mumbled as Kali chose the simplest form necklace with a tiny diamond in the middle.

"Ha. . . You can go ahead and choose whatever." She surrendered.

Her maids are becoming cheeky to her but she doesn't mind their friendly attitude. She watches them choose for her. It's easier this way.

"Can I afford this?" She looked at boxes of chosen accessories

"Ofcourse, The Lord had ordered all of these for you to choose." Tami exclaimed as she browsed all the jewelry boxes.

"I mean me. Can I. . . haaa nevermind just choose whatever"

'I'll just work hard earning.' She sighed.

"I am going back to my room." She waved her hand and quickly disappeared from the parlor.

Kali returned to her bedroom. Two creatures were still sleeping in her bed.

"Vico, Have you brought what I ask?" She said in a small voice.

Vico appeared like a ghost at her side. Handing her a box.

"Thanks."

Kali sat down in the bed. Not only because of the collar that made them weak, signs of maltreatment are seen at the tiny body of the wolf. She opened the box. She began to dress up the wounds on Luna's body. She should have done this last night but she doesn't have any first aid kit.

Luna flinched at the touch of medicine and ointment in his body but maybe due to exhaustion he didn't open his eyes throughout the session.

Unlike Luna's black fur where wounds are not much visible. The white creature's snow fur is stained with a faint color of blood.

"Do you know what that is?" Kali closes the First aid box while looking at the white creature.

"Fox." Vico answered. Kali looks at him with raised eyebrows like she is asking him with her eyes 'Why didn't you tell me yesterday?'. Vico is looking at the opposite side, not meeting Kali's eye. He ignored her silent question.

'I like that he doesn't ask questions but he is not saying anything either.' Kali snort

"A fox huh? Why is it being auctioned?"

"White colored foxes are rare."

"Is it a shapeshifter too?"

"Pardon my lack of knowledge."

Kali glares at Vico. He obviously knows but he refuses to answer. She rolled her eyes and pulled out a book from the inventory.

"Get out. I need to study."

He bowed down and disappeared in a split second. Her expression became dark then smirked as she opened her book.

" Kaleena Alexanders has received a bounty. AThousand Sakhat gold for her code and a hundred thousand Sakhat gold if brought alive. . . "

'A bounty huh?'

The day passed like any other day. Kali didn't look for the spies, Feyawi mentioned. She carries on the day like an ordinary noble will do. She walked in the garden then had afternoon tea, read books and stayed in her room til supper.

' Let's see who will hunt who.' She thought as she looked at the faces of servants in the dining room.

****

"I will go out. I only need one company" Kali said as soon as she finished her breakfast.

"Where will you go?" Rissa asked politely

"Town. Who will go with me?"

Rissa and Tami looked at each other. Rissa nodded to Tami and Tami raised her hand and volunteered to go.

Rissa and Tami were excited to dress up Kali but they were disappointed to see her choose the plainest dress among her plain wardrobe. It's a light brown and white long sleeve dress then covered with a cloak and hood to hide her black hair.

Thank goodness the carriage ride was a few minutes away from the central square. Town is different during the day time. People are busy making money. Bread , fruits and several stores are lively attracting customers. Tami was fascinated to be in town but for Kali who already saw the town tried to look as excited as Tami.

Kali glances at Vico who is showing his usual indifferent face. Vico made eye contact and Kali just gently shook her head as a signal to ignore their stalkers.

"Young Master, Where are we going? Dress shop? Cake shop or Jewelry Shop?"

She wanted to visit a sword shop but that was impossible with her lurking stalkers around. What Tami suggested is what a typical noblewoman would do in the Capital but she can't do it.

"Bookstore."

Tami didn't show disappointment because she thought this was just the first stop. She looks around freely at the wide range of books.

"Excuse me, Can you recommend some books for young ladies?" Kali asked the bookstore clerk.

"We have new arrivals, would like to see?"

"Yes."

After 2 hours, Kali finished her book shopping. Tami looked troubled and Vico was indifferent as usual as he loaded boxes of books in the carriage.

"Let's go to a cake shop." Only then Tami's expression lightened up.

Kali chose an open space cake shop on the second floor with town's view.

'What a lousy way to tail someone' She is disappointed that she can pinpoint her stalker's locations. She can immediately spot them not only because of her hypersensitivity with her surroundings but also because if it was her she would also choose the same hiding spot.

"What do you want to order, master?" Tami excitedly asks as she looks around at the relaxing ambiance.

"Go ahead and choose." Tami usually refuses but she already knows Kali's personality. She is not picky and lets them decide.

She ordered a slice of strawberry shortcake with chocolate syrup and blueberry cheesecake. She chose the prettiest looking cakes. She chose black tea for her and orange juice for Kali. Kali observes Tami eating happily.

Kali who barely touches her cake. Pull out a brown book from her cloak.

"Master. . . "

"Hmm?"

"If the Count finds out . . ."

Kali opened the book she purchased earlier 'Ways to Seduce a Knight.' She bought all the popular novels for young ladies.

"Don't worry. I'll give this to you after I finish it. "

"..!" Tami blushed at her words.

She spent all afternoon reading books in the cafe before returning. Tami is beating red as she hugged the book Kali just finished reading.

Luna welcomed Kali when she returned to her bedroom. She looked at Luna rubbing its head on her legs.

"Are you alright now?"

"Yes, Thank you."

"..!!!"

". . ."

'Am I hearing things?' She squinted her eyes before glancing at the bed and did not find the fox.

"Where is the other one?"

"He is on the couch."

"Oh. I am not hearing things" Kali stared long at Luna. Luna stared back and tilted his head to one side.

"You are indeed a shapeshifter." She knelt down and pat Luna's head

Shapeshifters are half human and half beast.

They are human with unique characteristics that can transform to their beast form. They both have human and beast traits and thus considered an abomination and treated as monsters by the society.

The System granted Kali Luna's trust after she successfully rescued him. She wondered if that's the reason why she can hear Luna now. Luna sweetly rubbed his head in her palms.

The fox walks into their view. It's squinted eye has cyan color shine like the sea, it is a mix of green and blue. The red in its forehead is also striking against its snowy white fur.

Foxes are ordinary wild animals. There are cases where animals can access natural mana as their extension of life and cultivate it as their own. Those said animals are prone to evolution. They either become mindless monsters or highly intellectual beasts.

Kali observes the beauty of the white fox and she thinks that it is no ordinary fox. The fox was sold as the final item in the auction, more expensive than Luna who is a beastman. The fox is also observing her and it doesn't seem to be on guard but he is not relaxed either.

"Do you have a name?"

". . ." He didn't respond. Kali tried asking again in her original language, The lost language.

The fox half steps back and looks at Kali with a questioning look. Kali was right. When she was healing inside the lake, the creature who saved her was a mythical beast. It spoke to her in her own language but can't remember its exact words.

"How are you feeling?" Kali tried again.

The fox didn't respond again but instead looked at her suspiciously. Kali sighed and stood up.

"Luna, Did you eat dinner?" Kali tasked Vico to sneak food for the creatures in her bedroom because she is busy roleplaying.

"Yes!" He excitedly answered.

"Go ahead and sleep. You need more rest."

"Yes!" Luna ran to the bed and placed himself on one side.

Kali looked at the fox and spoke in lost language.

"You should rest too. I'm going to wash up."

The fox just stares at her and watches her turn to the bathroom.

Kali finished taking a bath. She then saw her two beasts peacefully resting in her bed.

She placed herself on the couch and pulled out a book and started to read.
