"The queen says she's hungry." Kali said, peeking her head through the doors.

The Marchioness was overjoyed that she covered her open mouth with her hands and slight tears formed the corners of her eyes.

"Yes, right away." Almost dashing away, she supervised the food preparation and served it right away.

It was an odd scene, the marchioness seen inside the bedroom. Obviously tired and sleepless, the queen stares at Kali just like how she stares at the portrait of the deceased Countess.

'Is it because she is the Countess' daughter?' She thought as she laid the food.

"The food is ready, your majesty." Said the Marchioness.

But she was ignored and just kept staring at Kali who was sitting at the edge of the bed.
