The premise has a lot of potential and seems like it'll be an enjoyable read. My worst fear is that he'll turn back into a bag of flesh they call humans and become a doormat that helps every "unparalleled beauty" in distress

First of all, the raw is this one: 恐怖复苏:从稻草人到恐惧魔神! I read the first few chapters, and while it seems promissing so far it made me wonder once again on how easily many MC for these novels accept their new reality. Here the MC died while at home, apparently from nowhere, and almost immediatly accepted that he died and that he needed to cause fear in the hearts of all living beings. I mean, didn't he had any attachment to his previous life? Like, at all? I know some can say he probably didn't had family or friends, which is okay although it's still stretching to say he had ZERO ties with Earth, but then came the part where he, and many other MC's, start to kill others left and right without any remorse. That old speach of how he is not human anymore could be used but after a time had passed with him being a non-human, he was a human less than a second ago and already changed his mind, something similar can be said for the killing, okay that he needed to kill to survive, but he and the others almost never strugle to come to that, like, they had been normal persons some minutes ago and they changed their stance on killing just like that in a snap. I'm not saying they should be throwing up or anything, or having a book lenght drama on this topic, but man they could at least make like they had been not some loner with no attachment to their older life and a apparently a potential killers that just needed a slight push to go over the edge. Anyway, the novels so far is not bad, I just felt like I needed to bring this point up.

Now let's actually take a look at this novel. It might be the best this week, but it is actually not worth reading. First, MC is probably a former human serial killer. His modus operandi is to kill first before thinking. One month as a unmoving statue might have caused irreversible psychological damage. His lack of foresight and planning make this novel a lot worse than it could have been. Mc is a sociopath from the beginning. Second, the system, is way to OP for this world. It hasn't even been a week and the MC can slaughter entire cities for fun, no way something like this could have been hidden if it would happen more often. Third, the reactions of the specialists. No way those people have actually received any education or training. They are more like the police before the 18 hundreds. They have no technology or skill, instead depend on nebulous experience and questioning witnesses. Maybe they are overly reliant on their abilities and despice normal humans. No way the would take orders from

Translation quality took a nosedove after chapter 40. It seems as if the translator changed at that point or just stopped caring. I don't know how someone expects to actually get people to pay for something like that. At least get your "his/her" right.

This is such a niche book, the MC is true evil and lots of gore. This is fine if that's is only the downside but there is so much more. First, the plot is so fast-paced, the MC grows too fast, and his enemy all stupid and dies easily. Second, the plot armor is so blatant, like how easy and lucky the MC avoid death because some super OP enemy has a thing to do and give task hunting MC to his/her colleague, which essentially power leveling the MC by feeding the MC his/her colleague's lives. Third. the MC system, power, and world plot are very vague even though the MC already begin to become somewhat a powerhouse in his area, so we still can't gauge how strong the humans, the MC, the anomaly, or anything. Fourth, the MC is only evil and have no personality either than killing, and since almost all his enemy always died in few chapters, we can't see anything interesting about their character growth or building. Basically, this novel only upside is the gore and killing, but no substance, with minimal world-building, character-building, and simple plot. At first, I don't understand why people rate this novel so highly at 4,5+, but then I remember that sociopaths and psychopaths all have zero to minimal emotion or empathy and like to see those gore and blood. Since this novel has no story to relate to or character to sympathize with, this is somewhat a perfect novel for those types of people, who just want to read the gore without substance or story. That is why I said this is a niche novel, good for a psycho who wants to vent their imagination because they cant do it in real life. Because hey there is a lot of psychos out there who abide by society and they need something to vent right? Rather than start hurting others, maybe this novel can become their venting outlet. For any normal reader who especially likes a story, this is such a trash novel.

Well Well Well what we have here... a MC who is evil, calculating, fearsome... he has no problem with killing random people... and some people are very annoying that are gonna die... like D rank team who is overconfident even handling strange things... lol Lucas should have kill that fat pig before coming to farmlands... give it a try if you like mc who only keep eye on his goal while not being a hypocrite in the name of evil mc.

could have been a nice novel to read (at least when you don't have anything to read) but the translation quality is so bad that I lost interest... it's just so badly translated I can't get myself immersed.and you have to spend coin at some point to keep reading ? sorry but I'm not paying for such a butched quality.

It's not trash like the previous trial reads I'll give it that. It reads like a novel that without a brain dead mc, illogical thought processes, motives and actions etc. I'm comparison to the previous trial reads. It's gold. I'm comparison to normal novels with good writing. It's slightly above average. Still has lots of potential but whether it's potential to go downhill or uphill remains to be seen. Another trait of this gold. The previous trial reads were so obviously trash most of them screamed trash in the very first chapter. In this story at least you have to read it for a while to make your decision. But overall, for the first 20 chapters I've got a pretty good impression of the novel.

A breath of fresh air to the whole genre of "evil MC". Reading up to the latest chapter I'm pleased to announce that there was no romantic interest and can only hope there never will be. The world background is a bit lackluster, no deeper explanation towards the so called "Special Department" or even the country the story is set in, The quality of the translation is quite good and I haven't encountered any errors that stopped my immersion. The character development isn't consistent, there are characters that exhibit a wide array of emotions and are actually believable and pleasant to read while others are just one-dimensional characters that hold no importance and will probably disappear within the next few chapters. This is not necessarily a flaw since the whole plot of the novel is centered around "kill, get fear, get stronger" so it would be quite troublesome to not only write but also read incredibly detailed descriptions of characters that only appear for half a chapter. I should also mention the absence of Webnovel's oh so loved Chinese nationalism. The Mc is not a genius but is definitely not dumb and thankfully hasn't made me lose any brain cells while reading, he is decisive about killing and actually takes joy in torturing his victims. While the system trope is present, it's at least not the usual Sign-In to become God but offers a somewhat balanced way of getting stronger without becoming too OP. Overall a really good novel and I have high hopes for it. Hope it gets picked.

Finally!!! a MC who is truly a Evil. Those other novels where MC is just pretending to be a villain/misunderstood, and is actually a good person. This MC is a true villain. I hope this gets picked up.
