Getting Married

"Why you both are laughing like madmen? I mean mad women". Sneha snapped.

"Never mind" they replied in unison then dragged with her shoulder to sleep while still laughing.

For Piyali it's a sleepless night. She has never been a wilful person but many things changed after she met Risabh.

The next morning, At Risabh's apartment:

"But mom I told you, It was just misunderstanding. She was not arrogant or rude. Actually, I was rude to her".

Risabh is now trying to persuade his mother to reconsider the proposal with Piyali. But his mother's thought is Piyali is an arrogant girl but now she playing tricks with Risabh to get him that's why she is acting simple and good girl drama.

Risabh is getting impatient. "Please mom, I have already told you my decision. You can force me to change it but I'll be happy if you think again. I am making you clear, it was all my fault. That day I was making things difficult for her. She is not behaving any differently now. She is a good girl".

"Risabh, my son, listen I'm not opposing you. I am afraid you'll be hurt again. Those years we suffered most, you distanced yourself from everyone. Only..."

"Mom Please, those are past. I wanted to forget. Actually, I have already forgotten". Risabh stopped her by saying this but his voice gradually became lower almost inaudible like he is convincing himself. He is frowning and all his joy from last night is already gone.

He doesn't want to repeat that thing in his life. He had decided for a long time. He'll never fall in love with anyone again. never. then what is happening now???

After a line and two, he dismissed the call with his mother. His face is gloomy.

Noted, Mann is there and heard the conversation between mother and son.

" Piyali is a sweet girl, she deserves to be loved". Mann remarked. "But have you thought of discussing everything with her like your past, your plan for the future. Because you two only met recently and not had a single dialogue. but u suddenly kissed her yesterday night."

On mentioning the kiss, Riasbh's gloomy face showed a light smile. He is struggling inside.

"I just kissed her with the heat of the moment".

"Ok, then what about other things like you seemed very happy after that. You called aunty to tell her that, you will marry Piyali. Moreover that you look like you have already fallen for her". Mann told those words observed every bit of reaction Risabh is giving.

"No, you misunderstood. I want a simple-minded girl to marry, and she seems so. That's why I am considering her. There is no other thought. You know I'll never fall in love. It's just an attraction and I want to follow it. I'll keep her happy. My past is nothing with her". Risabh enunciated.

Mann gave a pat on his shoulder then diverted the topic. "I think, You both are mutually attracted. All the best bro. So when are proposing her?"

"soon". Risabh replied with a smile and typed a message on his phone and sent it.

At Piyali's apartment:

Piyali's phone beeped as she got a message 'Let's meet in the evening'. A faint and beautiful smile appeared on Piyali's face. Her friends noticed and felt happy for her.

Around 7 pm, at a cafe near Piyali's place:

After taking a sip from his favorite coffee Risabh cleared his throat and told, "Let's get married".

Piyali's eyes are widened with shock. She expected this but not today. "So soon?"

Risabh slightly frowned and replied, "Why? were you not aware of why we met before?"

"Yes, I know. but I didn't expect this". Piyali said.

"We are adults, Piyali. I want to make something clear to you. I am sorry for that day. I was rude to you. Now I want to marry you. And don't ask me why and when those I don't have an answer. At least for now. And I want to listen from you. Be frank".

Risabh is very confident of Piyali's answer. He noticed her eyes shine when she is looking at him and she blushes when he is looking at her.

"If you agree, I'll talk to my family to proceed. we can marry in this month-end. what do you think? or you want some time?"

After pondering for a moment, Piyali nodded her head said "OK". Then she faintly smiled. But she got nervous inside.

While Risabh is feeling peace now. Looking at her faint smile he recalled the kiss they shared, It was so sweet to taste her pink lips. He put a break on his thought when he saw Piyali's nervous eyes. He felt a bang on his heart. Is she not happy to be with him?

"What happened? Anything wrong?" Risabh concerned.

She again smiled then replied sweetly "Nope, just nervous".

Every time his heart rate accelerates when she is smiling like this. But how is it possible? it's already dead.
