"Have you heard about the rumors going around within Palace?" A maid Lana whispered to another maid Nia.

"What rumors?" Nia whispered back curiously.

"There rumors about Unknown footprints being seen within palace. They appear and disappear in thin air and no one knows about them? Everyone was panicking over it. Some says we have spies and some says its King of dead who returns to take his revenge" Lana said which caused a gasp from other.

"Did he really return?" Nia asked worriedly. Even if everything about King of dead is destroyed his terror still linger after centuries.

"That's what I heard about him returning to take his revenge on Royal family"

Adrian was passing through when he heard them whisper to each other.

"Did you know what happen when you caught spreading rumors within palace?" Adrian said in cold tone which caused them to tremble in fear.

"We are sorry Beta Adrian. we won't do it again" both said in unison while bowing. Adrian didn't said anything and move towards Dominique Office. Since Adrian have looked into this matter personally and still can't find clue, he started to feel frustrated.

"You know I am getting pissed with those footprints? Who the f*ck leave footprints if they came to spy or cause harm?" Adrian growl angrily as soon as he enters Dominique office.

"And it's not once or twice. It freaking every night"

Dominique was checking some document. He sighs after hearing Adrian outburst.

"Adrian, we are trying but they don't have any fix place so it hard to guess about their location" Dominique replied calmly.

"Dom, rumors started to appear about King of dead because of it. This could attract some noisy people towards Kingdom Sleteron which we can't afford at the moment" Adrian said while taking seat in front of Dominique.

"I know, but i don't know how to find the owner of the footprint as they leave no traces for us to check. Even with my heighten ability i can't find any sort of magic or scent there" Dominique said sounding disappointed.

"What if they are from aosmosian clan?" Adrian suggested.

"Aosmosian belongs to kingdom Sleteron. They ended along with rest of clan from kingdom Sleteron" Dominique shrugged.

"They are the only people who are with zero scent or can absorb other scent as their own" Adrian said.

"That's mean we are dealing with someone who is within palace. It can be the only way we can't detect them because they are blended well with us so even if they were to be in that spot no one going to suspect them" Dominique suggested.

"If we go with this theory, there would be two cases one we have a spy along us which we have suspected even before this event take place and two someone knowingly or unknowingly doing this but it still can't explain why do they appear and disappear in nowhere randomly. No one in general have ability to teleport. This concept has long gone in our history and if someone has open the door in those areas, we can have detected it" Adrian was ready to pop a vein or two. In this world teleportation is rare ability used to found in higher clans in past but over the year those who born with this ability started to get hunted so they can be used for bad motives and slowly when crime rates started to grow on them, to save their children from getting hunted and at the end killed, they started to hide and abandon this ability and to fill the gap left behind by this abandoned ability concept of door born but it can easily detected by those who have higher magical ability so it was not as effective as teleportation where no traces left behind.

"I am not sure Adrian it's very puzzling. There many event happening at once. First those dead body then disappearance of people, Activity in kingdom sleteron and now this. It seems like indication of some big disaster" Dominique says with such seriousness which caused Adrian to feel chill.

Adrian sighs he knows very well these events are suspicious but they don't know how to found the clues or connect the dots. A sudden knock bring them out of their own thoughts.

"Yes come in" Dominique said. Lance appears with worried look and bowed in front of Dominique.

"You highness, We got a problem" Lance said.

"What happens?" Dominique concern.

"This evening a messenger from kingdom Norlone came and he told us Princess Clover who disappeared the night of banquet, who was suspected to be broken hearted after not chosen by you, is found"

"So? isn't it happy news?" Adrian ask.

"Her body was found. She is dead in same clothes she was wearing in banquet" Lance announcement caused them to gasp.

"Banquet was 6 month ago Lance. Did she ..... did she.... killed herself?" Dominique hesitated saying it.

"She was drained off from her power. i am suspecting she is first of those victims who started disappearing few months back but since she disappeared in such delicate moment no one suspected of her getting kidnapped. Everyone thought since she is a siren, she returned to ocean to cope with her sorrow which is not unusual. Many of us do this when we feeling strong emotions and if her disappearance was same case as other then we have a power-hungry monster who aiming for others power" Lance replied.

"And if we look for common clue in all the victims, everyone were master in their magic criteria" Adrian said.

"People drained other from their energy in only two cases one they are complete lunatic. Two they need energy to restore their body which for some reason dying slowly" Magnus said appearing in thin air.

"King Ascian" All three said in unison.

"Yes, before he was sealed away in his Palace. He was badly injured and if he was not able to treat his body, it could be decaying or dying at this point if he is still alive. His clan age slower than other but they are not immortal" Magnus shrugged.

"But it still just a theory, we don't have any solid proof against him" Adrian said.

"(sigh) Let call off this meeting. Magnus keep me inform about any changes about Rogues. If we go with this theory, after draining energy from other he would go for body restoration and what better than large no of rogues gather in one area who are weak and helpless" Magnus bowed and left after hearing his order.

"Adrian informs mother father about princess Clover and let them attend condolence ceremony on behalf of us" Adrian bowed and left to do his task.

"Lance recheck boundary and barriers, increase security four times more than before and keep in mind to change your strategy every other day so if someone trying to observe our security, they can't find any loophole" Dominique ordered Lance.

"I also want you personally check training ground. I can feel sooner or later we could encounter War" Dominique continues while looking at the map of All kingdoms.

"I will do this as soon as possible your highness" Lance said and bowed before leaving.

Dominique returned to do his document but he is feeling restless for some days and after hearing today events he can't seem to focus on his work. He stood up and move automatically towards Celestine room to look for his Mate comfort. He knocked on her door. Celestine opened door after few knocks.

"Royal King, please come in" Celestine let him enter and to her surprise he took her in his arms and hugs her tightly which caused her to gasp in surprise.

"What happened?" Dominique still rarely initiates any kind of intimate physical contact with her but sometimes like today he likes to hug her.

"Nothing, we are just feeling restless" Dominique said truthfully. He breath in her scent to calm his restlessness.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Celestine asked him.

"No, its confidential official matter" Dominique replied. Celestine can feel sting in her heart after hearing his reply but since its official matter she let it go.

"I am sorry, I may sound rude but it can't be known by other at the moment for various reason so I can't disclose the matter" Dominique said lifting himself to look her in eyes.

"I understand, please let us know about your problems someday" Celestine said with a sad smile. Her smile caused Dominique to feel uneasiness.

"I am sorry" Dominique said once again.

"It's fine, we can overcome it slowly" Celestine reassured him.

As Dominique was looking at her, he has this great urge to be close to her and feel her touch. Its like he was intoxicated and losing control over himself.

"Can I kiss you?" Dominique blurred out in daze but soon after he came out of his daze and panicked over what he said.

"Ummm... I am sorry ... I don't know what came over me.... it was just..."

"Yes, we would love to get a kiss from you" Celestine said shyly cutting Dominique over his panic rambling.

"Will you?" She asks him while closing her eyes and moving her face towards him waiting for the kiss. She wanted their first kiss to be initiated by him.

Dominique at first hesitated but he really wanted to feel some sort of physical contact with his mate so badly at the moment and this feeling is suffocating him from inside. He slowly closed their distance even more than before and move his face inch by inch towards Celestine. For Celestine this moment feels like eternity. She has always been waiting for this day and finally today is the day when her wait will be over and while thinking about all those scenario, she finally felt Dominique lips on her. They don't know how it feels for mates but they knows for sure they are craving for more.
