Gangnam was a district in Seoul, South Korea's capital city. It was one of the country's most affluent and prestigious areas, known for its upscale lifestyle, modern infrastructure, and thriving entertainment scene. 


The name "Gangnam" means "south of the river" in Korean, indicating its location south of the Han River, which divides Seoul. The Seocho and Songpa neighborhoods border the neighborhood. It included both residential and commercial zones and spans a sizable area. 


Aside from its commercial aspects, Gangnam was home to many affluent residential areas characterized by modern high-rise apartments and luxury condominiums, villas, and spacious houses.
