MY CONFESSION

I blinked furiously, as if he would disappear if I did. I was so shocked that I forgot to stop my car in time. I pulled over the car few feet past him. My head snapped back to look at him. As soon as my car screeched to a stop the young man turned towards me, to reveal his face. It was not him! Where did he go? I’m sure I saw him few seconds ago! I shook my head and looked again, the stranger was walking towards my car. It still wasn’t him, the young man knocked at my passenger window.

“Can you drop me at the restaurant, two streets down?” he asked in a clipped voice. I nodded. He climbed in quickly, grinning at me. I wasn't planning on giving him a lift, how can I deny him when I stupidly stopped the vehicle? and he was standing right there!

“Thank you so much” he added as soon as he climbed in. I gave a curt nod and revived the car. I don’t know why, I have a very bad feeling about this, something was not right about him. My instincts were almost always right.
