I was busy checking on the documents when Abby entered. “Ms. Ashley, someone is looking for you.” My forehead furrowed at what Abby said.
“Who is it?”
“Mrs. Moon.” My eyebrows raised at what I heard. ‘Why does she want to see me? Will she tell me that she’s his wife? Well, I don’t know either. If that’s the case, I will stay away from Harry.’ I even put my index finger on my chin while thinking my deep thoughts.
My eyes widened upon realizing... 'Mr. Moon was married?! But from what I know, he didn’t have a wife! I suddenly stood up and pulled my hair. 'No, it couldn't be.' Abby snapped her fingers, which made me come to my senses. I saw her worried face. Then I noticed that my hands were still on my head. I slowly arranged my hair, combed it with my hand, and smiled at her awkwardly.
I fake a cough before speaking. “A-alright let her in.” She nodded and excused herself. I turned around to fix myself. I don't want them to think I'm crazy. I took a deep breath.
“Ms. Ashley,” Abby called me. I slowly face them and flip my hair. I want to make Mr. Moon's wife look better than me ---.
A lady in her 50s, wearing a simple classy, perfectly tailored to fit her body, which made her look younger than her real age.
I didn't finish my thought when I saw who Mrs. Moon, Abby was referring to. I mentally did a facepalm. Why didn't I think it was Aunt Divina? I sigh in relief.
Mrs. Divina Moon frowned, and I smiled at her. “Hi, auntie!!” I exclaimed. Her face lit up as her lips curved.
“Hi Ashtrella, It's nice to see you again.” She greeted and kissed my cheeks.
“Auntie, it's nice to see you too. It's been years. I was just wondering who this Mrs. Moon, my assistant, was referring to.” I said.
“Well, is there anyone else aside from me?” She raises one brow.
“Ah. Hehe,” I laughed awkwardly.
“I thought maybe it was Mr. Harry's wife.” I honestly said.
She laughed. “Oh, come on dear. My son is not married. He doesn't have a girlfriend. For now.” She said as her face looked amused.
“How about you?” She asked, while I motioned toward the couch to let her sit, as I take the seat in front of her.
“Oh! Uhm, Auntie, I haven't had a boyfriend yet.” I grinned.
I noticed that Abby was still standing on the side of the door. Maybe waiting for my order.
I looked at her. “Abby can you give us....” I looked at my aunt. “What do you want to drink, Aunt Divina? Coffee, tea, juice, or water?” She smiled.
“Just a cup of tea.” I nodded and looked at Abby again. “... Tea and water, please,” I said, and she exited.
“So... You don't have a boyfriend yet?” I nodded. She clasped her hands, with eyes twinkling. This made me frown,
"Do you still remember my son?" She asked. I slowly nodded and smiled at her weakly.
"But maybe he doesn’t remember me at all." Her brows knit together.
"Why? I mean. Why are you sad?" she asked.
I shrugged. “Aunt, I don't think he recognized me... When I came to have an interview, we bumped into each other at the elevator, and I don’t think he recognized me. He was even rude to me.” I pouted like a child. Aunt Divina chuckled. My forehead creased.
“You still looked the same, darling. You're still the same Ashtrella Rodriguez I've known.” I smiled, but I knew that smile was up to her ears.
She held my hand, “Don't worry sweetie, I will help you.” Then she winked at me, and it made me giggle.
Later, Abby came with our drinks.
“Auntie, why did you come to visit me? Do you need anything?” I asked when I suddenly remembered she came to seek me out. She was a bit stunned, but recovered quickly and smiled.
“Oh! I came here to visit my son. But suddenly, I heard some employees here mentioning your name Ashley. I was a little curious if you and the Ashleyone I know are the same. And I wasn't wrong at all, it was you! I'm glad that you're working here. That means we have more time to catch up on things, like the good old days.” She smiled and cupped my face.
I was a little surprised by what she said. 'Why did the employees talk about me?' I thought.
“Auntie, can I ask what you heard from the employees about me?” She shook her head and smiled.
“Don't worry, Ashley, it's nothing. You don't have anything to worry about.” I sighed as a relief.
“How’re your parents, by the way?” She asked.
“They’re good, Aunt Divina. I will visit them once I have some free time.” I smiled, and she nodded.
“Tell me ahead of time before you visit them, so I could buy your mother a gift.” I immediately shook my head.
“No, no, Aunt, you don't need to buy my mom anything.” She just shrugged. I know Aunt Divina, she will insist.
“Anyway,” she sipped her coffee. “I should go. I’m having a lunch meeting with my son today,” she said, “He wants me to meet someone.” she winked. My eyes rolled. I remembered that Mr. Moon and I also had a lunch meeting.
“Aunt, wait!” She frowned. I'm really stupid, I haven't even stood up yet so my aunt exaggerated my reaction. Abby laughed. Why she is still here?
“Auntie, Mr. Moon, and I have a lunch meeting today. So that means we'll have lunch with you?” Aunt Divina's eyes twinkled.
“So, you're the girl he wants me to meet? Aww.” She said as she clasped her hands. I blushed at Mrs. Moon's reaction.
“Let's just go to his office together,” she said. I fixed the things on my table as I stood up to get my bag from the rack.
“Abby, I have to go. Take your lunch as well. I'll be right back.” She nodded and bowed to Mrs. Moon.
We were walking towards the elevator when I noticed my team looking at us. Perhaps they were wondering why I was close to Mrs. Moon, the mother of the CEO of this company. I shrugged, let them speculate.
I heard the sound of the elevator, so we entered, and I pressed the 40th-floor button.
I'm nervous. Why did Mr. Moon call me for a lunch meeting, with his Mother?
