Lunch

“That woman!” Mrs. Moon clenched her hand as she looked at the door where the woman exited. “Why did you let her in?! You should have informed our security not to let that woman enter this building!” Aunt Divina hysterically said.

Mr. Moon groaned. “Calm down, mom.” He sighed and touched his mother, caressing her back. “I already did!”

“Lucky you, Ashley was here to help you.” She said, then she looked at me. “I'm sorry for that, sweetie. Are you hurt?” She asked me and looked worriedly. I shook my head.

“No, Auntie. I'm fine. She didn't hurt me at all... Who is she, by the way?” I cocked my head to the side, waiting for their answer.

“Her name's Britney.” Mr. Moon answered.

“She was Harry’s one-time fling, claiming Harry was her soon-to-be husband... Which will never happen as long as I live.” Auntie Divina said, emphasizing the word NEVER. She rolled her eyes like a spoiled brat and placed her arms across her chest. I chuckled.

“She's very obsessed with him, but I know she’s only after my son's wealth.” She added. I mouthed an “Oh,” and I looked at Mr. Moon, who was lazily looking at me. I raised an eyebrow.

Mr. Moon looked at his wristwatch. “It's almost lunch. Can we just eat? I'm famished. I told Luke to get a reservation in a nearby restaurant for us.” He said trying to change the topic, which was a very good idea because I saw Auntie Divina's eyes twinkle.

“That's great!” She giggled. “Let's Go?!” My jaw dropped by the sudden change of mood exhibited by Aunt Divina. Mr. Moon just shook his head.

Aunt Divina walked out of the office excitedly.

Mr. Moon held my arm to stop me from walking.

“Mom saw us.” Mr. Moon said all of a sudden. I looked at him, confused. He turned his head, and our gaze met.

“She asked someone to follow me around as always, and the man who did, saw us kissing in the parking lot. And then reported it to my Mom.” I looked at him in horror as he looked at me emotionlessly. I couldn't read his expression.

“The w-what?!” I stuttered as my eyes got even wider. Gosh! He remembered!

Someone saw us kissing!

Aunt Divina knew about us kissing!

Now, I'm asking for some mighty power from above to let me vanish from where I was standing. I felt so embarrassed, and I could feel my face heat up. For sure, my cheeks were as red as tomatoes. What will I do?! Damn!!!

“This is the reason why Mom is here. She is happy that you are the girl that I kissed outside the bar.” He said it like it was nothing serious.

“What should we do?” I asked. Panic was evident in my face.

“Nothing.” He said. I frowned.

“What?! Just nothing?!” I said as my eyes widened.

He rolled his eyes and looked at me like I said something ridiculous. “Mom is waiting... And I'm famished, we should just go before I change my mind and eat you here.” He said as he left me alone in his office with my jaw wide open and my cheeks reddening. What did he say? Oh my gosh! Geeze... I shook my head and tried to shrug the thoughts from my mind before I followed him and his mother.

We went to a nearby restaurant. The waiter ushered us to our reserved table, and we immediately ordered our food.

Mr. Moon cleared his throat, which was the reason why I looked at him. “Ashley, our company is invited to watch a fashion show that will be held in Paris. And...” He paused, and I raised my brows, waiting for him to continue talking. “And I chose you to accompany me to that event.” I was surprised by what I heard. Our eyes turned to Aunt Divina, who was clapping her hands. She seems excited for us. Mr. Moon's forehead creased.

“That's great! When is this event being held, son?” I bit my lower lip to prevent myself from laughing. Aunt Divina seems excited on my behalf.

“Next month. It's a five-day trip to Paris. Well, the fashion show is just one day, but I will also meet some investors for the next following days…” He explained. I just nod my head. “So prepare the documents such as your passport and visa. Hand it over to Luke so he can process your papers.”

“Okay, Mr. Moon, noted.” I simply said.

“And we also have two days for out-of-town meetings. That will be held in Cebu.” He said.

“When will that be, Sir?” I asked.

“Two days from now.” I nodded.

“You may take your day off tomorrow to prepare your things. I told Abby to reschedule your appointments for the next 3 days.”

“It's alright Mr. Moon. I can handle it. I don't need to take a day off tomorrow. I have a lot of things to do.” He shrugged his shoulders.

“Okay, if you say so.” We stopped talking when the waiter came with our meal. My eyes twinkled, and my mouth watered. I can even hear my stomach growling.

“Let's eat!” Mr. Moon declared. No one spoke because we were busy eating our food, or maybe we were all hungry because of what happened.

“So...” Aunt Divina starts as she breaks the silence. “How are you two? I mean... It's not work-related... It's about you, the both of you.” She giggled, which made me choke on what I was eating. Mr. Moon readily handed me a glass of water, and I couldn’t help but accept it.

“Are you okay?” Aunt Divina asked with a concerned look. I nodded, which made her sigh with relief. When I looked at Mr. Moon, I didn't see any emotions on his face.

“Mom, nothing is going on between us. But if you are asking how we are. Well, we're fine. She is currently working in my company, and I'm her Boss. That's it.” He said as a matter of fact. Aunt Divina looked at him lazily.

“Son! You kissed her in the middle of the night, outside a bar, and yet you're saying nothing is going on between you? Oh! Come on!” She groaned.

“Hmm... Aunt Divina, it's just...” I looked at Mr. Moon like I was looking for words on how to explain it to his mother. “I-I w-was drunk and...” I can't continue because Mr. Moon interrupted me.

“Okay. I kissed her. But it's just a kiss Mom, it's not a big deal.” He said, which made me a bit disappointed.

For him, it might not have been a big deal... But for me it was! It was my first kiss... He was my first kiss!
