Phone Call

As soon as we get home, I call Rhyan. Unfortunately, he couldn’t help me. Rhyan was in Japan. Then I called Joshua, but he was out of reach. So I had no choice but to dial Abby’s number. Though we were colleagues back then, I didn’t want to bother her because I didn’t want to drag her into my misery.

But when the phone rang, a man’s voice answered. “Hello? Ash, Abby just went into the restroom.” I was a bit stunned.

“Oh, Uhm... Did I disturb you? I’m sorry for bothering...” Joshua interrupted.

“No... No, it’s alright. What’s up?” I was hesitant to tell him, but I was desperate.

“Actually... I called you first.” I heaved a sigh.

“Oh. Sorry about that, my phone ran out of battery. Abby and I are having a dinner date at the restaurant I reserved.”

“I need your help. Please, help me find a house right now.” There was a minute of silence from the other line.

“Did he see you and the twins?” He asked, breaking the silence. I hummed as a yes.
