Twenty-Nine - Blood

Downcaster, Sullen Grounds

The sight of the Samira Mausoleum cut opened Renard's fully healed wound. This time it's deeper. He found himself standing on the same podium where he said his goodbyes to Catherine and his father. His son, Devonne, watched how he stood proudly amidst the horror of their family's deaths. Renard was breaking apart and no one knows.

The attendees were only the ones very close to the family. Attendance was strictly at the minimum. It was harder for the head of the household to hold it together because Viktor was away for the trial. The house Samira made an appeal to reschedule but they moved up the date instead giving Viktor no choice.

A lot of the upper-class visitors had a contempt for the choice of the Christian church to bless the funeral. Renard couldn't care more about the displeasure. One of Allison's wishes was to remain Catholic. It was the least he could do.
