Edgar and Devon, "..."

I had a very good sleep.

These past few days I've been sleeping on a tough bed along with several other patients crowded in a hall. Various sounds can be heard in the dead night ranging from intermittent coughing to heavy snoring. I wasn't used to the crowd and the hall was pretty hot, making me sweat and feel uncomfortable.

Now, lying on this soft pillow and buried in the thick quilt, I feel like I've ascended to heaven. I don't ever want to wake up. Haa~

That was until I felt a sudden discomfort in my groin. As if something was struggling to be unleashed. I woke up with a start. I then lifted the quilt in one swift motion and proceeded to stare at the source of discomfort.

"Hehe..." I can't help but let out a chuckle.

"What's wrong?" A voice sounded in the room. It was Edgar's. It was then that I realized the existence of Devon and Edgar in the room. They were sitting at the dining table. Appearing to be in the middle of a discussion. I almost forgot that I was still in the hospital. My movements were probably too abrupt that it alarmed the two.

"I have morning wood. Hehe."

Edgar and Devon, "ఠ_ఠ"

"These past few days I didn't receive any response from the lil guy. I thought I was impotent. Leaving me to live the life of a monk. I guess all the stress has been putting a burden on it."

Edgar and Devon, "..."

"I am finally a proper man. You guys should stop calling me Dakota now. I'm Aaron through and through."

Edgar and Devon, "..."

"Do you guys want to take a look? It's pretty cute." I lifted the hospital pants to take a peek while the quilt covered the view from Edgar and Devon. I have to admit, it looks glorious in my eyes.

Devon, "???"

Edgar, "...Why would you show your d-privates to others?"

I raised an eyebrow and tilted my head in Edgar's direction, "Hm? Isn't that what guys do? Comparing dicks with each other? I read that some even jerked each other off."

Devon, "??!"

Edgar, "...I don't think so. Just what kind of book are you reading?"

"Eh? You guys didn't? Probably the wrong kind of books then." It was the kind of book where the male protagonist got together with the male lead. They make that sort of thing sounded normal in the book. I guess it wasn't, huh?

Edgar, "..."

"It's not calming down. Guess I'll have to take care of it. Hehe." Throwing the words behind, I jumped down from the bed and ran to the bathroom in an awkward posture with my hands covering my crotch.

Edgar and Devon, "..."

I missed their dumbfounded face due to my excitement.

*****

It's good to be a man. It was so easy to feel good and ascend to heaven. I don't have to resort to many tricks to get myself off now. I didn't make the wrong choice of wishing to be a man.

I took a shower after I'm done dealing with Lil Aaron(renamed now since I'm now a real man). They were right, having a dick does make you grow some kind of an ego. I can almost see myself being a scum boyfriend in the next few years. Only a woman could understand another woman. I feel like I have awakened something in me. Hehe.

Putting on a new set of patients' attire, I walked out of the bathroom with an "enlightened" aura and a wide smile plastered on my face.

Edgar, "..."

Devon, "Looks like you enjoyed your new toy."

I just gave Devon a smirk.

Edgar, "...Here. Your information." Edgar handed me a tablet. I took a seat next to him at the table and receive the tablet with both hands.

On the tablet appeared a series of reports on Aaron Snow. Let me sum it up for you guys.

Aaron was raised in a single-parent household and had a mother called Vivian Snow. She died in an accident when Aaron turned 10 and he's been in the care of the childcare services ever since. He managed to be fostered by a lively couple of professors and they have been supporting Aaron's education ever since. A list of achievements can be found in the report but no information about a sponsor was retrieved. Sus.

All in all, Aaron is a good spawn. If you ignore the whole issue of him being involved with a sponsor that is.

"It says here I stayed in the college's dorm. Guess I can go over to retrieve my stuff." I returned the tablet to Edgar.

"Mn. I'll go with you. We'll set off once you're done with the remaining check-ups." Edgar replied.

I can't help but raised an eyebrow at that. "I've been meaning to ask you this. What are you doing here, Edgar? Aren't you supposed to be at F country right now? Is it really okay for you to skip work like this?"

Edgar, "...I'm done with the job at F country. I'm returning to HQ. It has been a while since I last have a proper rest so I took a couple of months off."

I nodded at his response but I think I saw the corner of Devon's mouth twitches.

"Alright, but I don't think it's a good idea for you to walk around with that bruise on your face." Having rested for a night, the swell has reduced. But the bruise is still as apparent as yesterday.

"I can wear a face mask." Edgar gave a comforting smile.

"I don't think it's a good idea for you to be seen around me either." I pointed at the tablet which happened to display news of Aaron's suicide. The suicide itself is nothing worth mentioning. It was the reason that may get Edgar in trouble. "People might think you're keeping me as a pet. I don't want to put you in a compromising situation. Same reason applied to last night's one-sided decision of yours. It'll really cause a huge problem for you and I don't want that."

"You don't have to worry. I'll have it sorted out." He once again flashes that comforting smile.

What? What is this domineering CEO line that can only be seen in soap opera dramas or romance novels?

"...If you say so." I finally resigned to his words but I can't help scrunching up my expression a little.

"Do you have any other plans in mind?" He asks.

"..."

"It's alright. You can be honest with me." He patted my thigh in comfort.

Casting my gaze to the hand on my lap, I decided to bite the bullet and spat the words that have been threatening to come out since last night. "I don't want to be involved in the business world anymore."

Edgar was silent for quite some time, "I'm sorry. You have experience in managing a company and it has been running smoothly for the past few years. I thought it would be a waste of talent if I don't take that into account. Hence, my proposal in appointing you as my personal assistant so you can take the chance to expand your knowledge. I never thought you'd like to quit the business world for good. So, what do you have in mind?"

"I just want to live a normal life with a normal job and normal pay. I'm not asking to be paid too much. As long as I have enough to eat, that'll be enough for me. I believe you could help me with that. This is much easier than taking me in as a personal assistant." I move my downcasted gaze to meet Edgar's with determination in my words.

I really don't want to be involved in that messy stuff anymore. Just let me quietly start a new life. I don't need any more drama in my life.

Another bout of silence ensued before Edgar nodded, "Alright. We'll figure it out as it goes. Anything else you have in mind?"

"That...about crashing at your place. I'm sorry for being a burden to you. I'll move out as soon as I have enough savings for rental. I'll be out of your hair before you know it."

I heard a chuckle this time before I feel a hand ruffling my hair, "Mi casa es tu casa. You're always welcomed."
