My husband. I've finally found you...

Tap! Tap!

The tapping on the counter was neither hard nor soft. Just enough force was exerted to catch the attention of the receptionist who was in her own world tapping furiously on her phone.

The young receptionist lady was rather irritated. She was in a heated argument with her cheating boyfriend so she was not in a good mood to receive anyone in a friendly manner. All she wanted to do was to curse all men so they'd become impotent! Scum men!

With a rather sour attitude, she spat angrily without looking up, "What?! Can't you see the time? People are going out for lunch soon. Come back later at two."

The man tapping on the counter flinch at her attitude. The gentle smile on his face cracked a little as he thought to himself. Did this guy only hire people of his kind? Rude and obnoxious? -.-

The man cleared his throat and ignored her hostility. With every cell in his body screaming to retort, he tried his best to keep up his gentlemanly image by not lashing out at the receptionist.  Men don't hit women! He chanted madly in his head.

After calming himself down, he softly said, "Sorry. I'm here to see Devon. Can you give him a call? I left my phone at home." Although the receptionist was still immersed on her screen, the man still flashed a gentle smile towards her lowered head, causing the few passing female staff who was going out for lunch to blush.

The voice of the man carried a distinctive aura of its own. It wasn't deep enough to immediately cause women to drop their panties down. But anyone would feel at ease upon hearing his melodious gentle voice.

The receptionist snorted in her heart. No matter how nice-sounding the man before her, she would never succumb to that creature called men ever again! Remembering that her boss, Mr. Devon, has never informed her of any incoming client, she whipped her head up with her loaded machine gun of a mouth. Ready to chase this nobody out.

"Do you think Mr. Devon is your father? You can't..." just come in here without an appointment! Her words stuck in her throat as the image of the man came into her view. The phone that she has been clutching on furiously loosened. Causing it to drop on the table with a clang.

Although it was only for a brief moment, the man saw the chat interface on the screen. He can't make up the text word by word. But he saw a lot of exclamation marks and capital letters in the text sent by the receptionist. One particular sentence caused the man to quirked an eyebrow up.

[MAY YOUR DICK ROT YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING SCUM!!!!]

Turns out the lady had a bad day today. His unlucky self just has to come today and receive this five-star reception service. His agitation eased up a little as he sends her virtual hugs and sympathy through his brainwaves.

It's alright. You'll be okay soon. He coaxed gently in his heart.

The man had his shoulder-length hair tied in a half-bun. His white sweatshirt accentuates his pure and youthful image. The face that resembled her favorite k-pop idol was smiling gently with an apologetic expression. For a while, the receptionist lady falls into a daze. Her enmity towards men just before was extinguished in an instant before that angelic face.

My husband. I've finally found you...

That is the life of a face-con. They easily jump from one to another. No one knows this better than the man standing on the other side of the counter. Hence, he's been meticulous in taking care of his image.

Seeing that the receptionist was still unresponsive, the man once again opened his mouth. "Um. Can you give Devon a call?"

Upon hearing that melodious voice again, the dazed receptionist finally came back to her senses. She clumsily calls her boss' secretary as she peeks at the man from the corner of her eyes. The man had his eyes fixed on the photo frames hanging on the wall. Looking as if deep in thought. His side profile was in her full view.

Upon hearing the question from her boss's secretary, she finally realized she had never asked for the man's name nor purpose. She shyly returns the question to the man. Her initial rude behavior vanished as she transformed into a docile cute creature at a speed faster than light.

Her sudden change caused the man's expression to twitch a little. Remembering his innocent self being severely yelled at just a few seconds before, he can't help but tease the receptionist. Can't be helped. He's a petty fella. With a smile on his face, he said, "Tell him that his son, Aaron, came to pick him up."

The receptionist blushed upon hearing his reply. Only then did she remember how rude she was just before. Although flustered, she swiftly relayed the information to the other end of the phone. Her ears reddened upon uttering the man's name. Although ashamed of her behavior before, she still entertains herself with her delusions.

So, my husband's name is...Aaron...

Aaron, who had received a wife out of nowhere unknowingly, just flashed a gentle smile towards the receptionist and everyone who passes by. It was lunchtime and more and more people are passing by the front desk to get to the elevator. Some even threw curious glances and whispered while waiting for the elevator to arrive.

Turning his body to lean his back on the counter, crossing his arms, he stood lazily with his feet in front of the other. At times he would tap his feet or fingers to ease the boredom. The pain of not having any technology to entertain oneself.

He was used to not having anyone contacting him the past few months so he never places any importance on the device as he used to. Only now did he remember the other use of that gadget. To not look like an idiot while waiting and looking cool at the same time.

I hope my appearance value doesn't drop. This pose should make up for it.
