"You..."
Slate was looking at Amethyst in an exasperated manner.
"I told you, you don't have to join me. I thank you for doing so but I think I would be able to do it fine now," she replied.
When she came out a while ago and Scarlet saw her, she had informed her that she will be going for the next destination which is another close by tourist spot, Wright Park.
Slate, who just came out as well, heard this and was now looking at her in such exasperated manner.
Slate sighed and fished out his phone before moving away for a call.
Amethyst wanted to stop him.
"Well, I think you won't be able to stop him with that unless you yourself wanted to go on some other day instead," Scarlet spoke up first.
"But it really is fine," Amethyst was feeling bad about it.
Scarlet smiled at her, "I, too, wanted to stop you right now but you look like you won't be stopped by anything. And I hold the same feeling as him, even though let us say that you are returning a favor. You shouldn't be forgetting your work either."
"But my work is really fine, I have someone looking after the shop. In reality, I already have them, it is just that I get bored so I tend to go there myself," Amethyst replied with a shake of her head.
Scarlet smiled again, "Slate actually was already close to his own leave. And was just finalizing it so you also don't have to worry."
Amethyst thought back and remembered that during the weeks before and after the new years, Slate would always be seen around.
"But still..." she was still feeling bad.
Scarlet held her hand, "I can see that we won't be able to stop you from going to those places every day. And so, let him at least accompany you. Slate is just that kind of man."
Amethyst could only sigh in defeat, she couldn't say no on Scarlet's smiling face.
It was too angelic that she felt bad if she ever rejected it.
"Can you tell me how you plan on going to every place?" Slate returned to their side a few minutes later.
Amethyst stared at him blankly.
He sighed, "I didn't know you plan on going to these places everyday that I was unable to free up my schedule today. And they had said that I couldn't take a leave now because they needed me for something today."
Amethyst raised her hands in front of her waving them as she shakes her head, "You should go. I really will be fine, it is less than half an hour away by foot."
Slate stared at her and remembered what happened yesterday at Botanical Garden.
"No, as the brother of the one asking you the favor, I suggest you go tomorrow instead. I'll accompany you then," he firmly said.
Amethyst didn't know how to react to this, maybe because of Scarlet's condition that Slate was being like this.
"Please Amethyst, I would feel much more at ease if you have someone with you as well," Scarlet added.
"But if you accompany me then the time you two could spend with one another would be gone. You always take this leave for that," she still said.
The siblings looked at one another when she said this before Scarlet giggled, "It is fine. Even if he takes that leave, both of us would have our own world in the house that we barely speak with one another as well."
Slate didn't speak but he looked like he was agreeing with Scarlet.
Amethyst still wanted to say more but their eyes tell her that she has no way out of this.
"I understand, I'll take care of the store for today then I will go there tomorrow," she could only answer in defeat.
Scarlet smiled at her, "Okay you go then, you too Slate, go on now. Take care both of you."
Amethyst zoned out when Scarlet said this.
"What's wrong?" Scarlet asked noticing the changes in her.
Amethyst snapped out of it before smiling and shaking her head, "It is nothing, I shall take my leave then."
"Go back inside now as well, the caretaker will ne arriving in another minute or so," Slate said to Scarlet.
"I know, I know, go now. See you this afternoon, you too Amethyst," Scarlet waved them goodbye with a smile on her face.
Amethyst slowly smiled back waving her hand and turning around followed by Slate.
Scarlet watched their backs as they walked away and a melancholic smile appeared on her lips.
"One day, I hope you will be his support. I hope you can help him with the loss he will be facing," she muttered.
She can feel that Amethyst is a kind young lady, she knew that she will be able to help Slate once she is gone. And that she was happy they get to know each other before everything is too late.

"Well then, I'll ask for your accompaniment tomorrow," Amethyst said as a goodbye.
Slate watched her walked away from the parking lot and his brows furrowed, "Where's you car?"
She looked back not expecting him to ask, "It is currently my number coding."
She pointed at the plate number.
"Let's go," he said unlocking his car.
Amethyst somehow ended up staring blankly, Slate looked back at her and seeing her reaction he spoke up.
"I'll drop you to your store," he said gesturing for her to ride.
"I... I can take a cab there."
"It won't sit right with me that I can help but I didn't," he replied opening the car door for her.
Having no other options, Amethyst relented and went in. He helped her with the door before moving around to get in the driver's seat.
The whole drive was silent but she didn't feel awkward, even though they barely greeted one another for the past four years, she couldn't find their current situation out of place.
'Maybe because they had been saving me all this time?' she thought staring straight at the road.
"Are you really sure about going to all those places?"
Halfway through the ride, Slate spoke up.
Amethyst was a bit shock as she turned her head towards him.
"Why?" she asked in return.
Slate glanced at her before speaking, "I know for a fact how difficult it is to move around and take all the information she was asking from you. You really don't have to push yourself."
She stared blankly at him for a good while before shaking her head, "It is fine, I want to do this. And honestly I am enjoying this a lot."
Slate glanced at her as they arrived near her shop, he slowly stopped the car on the side.
"If that is your decision then I will no longer say anything."
She smiled at him and opened the door, "Thank you for the ride, take care on your way to your work place."
He nodded his head as she closed the door and he drove away.
He looked up to his rear view mirror and saw her walk towards her shop.
"She is like a savior to me right now, when I saw her and got to know her and realized what she can do, I knew she was the hope I was asking for in order to fulfill my last wish."
The day before Amethyst went to check Botanical Garden for the first time, Scarlet spoke to Slate and this is what she said.
Slate wanted to understand what Scarlet saw in Amethyst that made her say this when Amethyst had been someone who took her life lightly.
And now after witnessing what she had done in Botanical Garden and how Scarlet's eyes lit up on the information she was giving, he could only resign that maybe Scarlet was right.
In such a world that Scarlet is currently living, a world that is slowly losing its color and liveliness, maybe Amethyst was the last light in order for her to say that she had lived her life to its fullest.
