Chapter 39: Without The Latter's Knowledge

The place where Amethyst is currently in is actually close to the pool of the hotel, she didn't notice it at first because her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of emerald being in a tight spot.

Now that she had turned her head to her side. She didn't only notice Emerald standing there but also noticed the pool behind Emerald.

Seeing emerald with that background a Methodist felt like she was once again looking at the scene of when they were children.

The scene that left her traumatized and made her an introvert.

"I said what are you doing here?"

Emerald was looking at Amethyst as if the villain was her and that Emerald was the main character.

Amethyst only shakes her head because the look Emerald was giving her was the look not once did she see from her.

It was a look of jealousy.

Emerald never looked at her that way because she always looks at her with either pity or she was plainly looking down at her.

But now because of what was going on, Amethyst was actually seeing a different side of Emerald.

"Answer me!!! What the hell are you doing here? How did you get in? You must be mocking me. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!" Emerald started shrieking at Amethyst.

"You have to lower your voice in case others would hear you. Then they will know just what it is that you have done," Amethyst calmly said.

She was no longer that young one who Emerald could easily bully or make her do whatever she wants. She was now an adult, an adult who have seen a lot.

"SHUT UP!!! This is all because of you. You have the money but you just have to go and take everything away from me. You are but a selfish person," Emerald gritted her teeth as anger enveloped her.

Her nerves had been on edge ever since the book was published. She thought she had copied Amethyst's writing style very well but, in the end, on the first batch of the book. A lot had already asked about it.

And because of that, when she was invited in this event, she knew that they will ask as well.

And everything was because of Amethyst.

Her mind was too clouded by the fame she gained back then that she had forgotten she was the one who took everything away from Amethyst.

Amethyst could only stare at her in return before sighing heavily.

"Are you really sure you are the one who should be saying that to me? I took everything away from you? Wake up Emerald, you have been blinded by your greed."

Emerald smirked, "You wanted to take it back don't you? You wanted to laugh at me. Well sorry to say but I won't make it happen. I will not fall just because of this simple thing," Emerald glared at she declared.

Amethyst shakes her head once again, "Do whatever you want Emerald. I came here to accompany someone. Not to laugh at you."

Well, it was true that she had accompanied Slate to see Emerald's current condition. But she really didn't come to laugh at Emerald.

Indeed, she felt good seeing how Emerald was being punished in what she had done but she didn't had the feeling of laughing at Emerald's demise.

"At the same time, it has been so long. And fighting me was actually the first thing that you are doing," Amethyst then added.

"Is it my fault that you dared to runaway. If you hadn't, you would still be writing and I wouldn't be in this position," Emerald was still adamant on putting the blame on her.

Amethyst no longer wants to speak with her, she never thought Emerald was actually this type of person.

She was a caring sister in front of her back then and her act was truly believable that Amethyst was really in shock today.

"Let's end this conversation, you are impossible to talk to," she started walking away from Emerald.

Because the longer she looks at her with the pool behind her. The more Amethyst's heart was at edge.

Her trauma that she had been fighting might end up eating her if she were to stay longer.

Emerald turned to her and grabbed her arm, Amethyst grimaced at how tight she was holding her. Now they are standing face to face while the pool was on their side.

'How stupid, why did I come here?' Amethyst thought as she tried not to show to Emerald her discomfort.

"Okay, we need to calm down Amethyst. Now that we have met once again, why don't we come with an agreement. You have seen what is going on with your sister, why don't you help me? You know, we can uhmmm we can compromise."

Amethyst furrowed her brows, Emerald had just a 180 degrees change in her attitude.

"Come back, let's write together again," Emerald asked her with a smile.

But all Amethyst could see was her greed.

She slowly pulled away from Emerald's grip, "After what happened, there is no turning back now Emerald."

She started walking away again but then remembered something before turning back at her, "Emerald, since we already had the chance to talk then let me tell you something."

She looked straight in Emerald's eyes, "Live your life, imitating others won't give you the fulfillment that you truly deserve. You are you and others are others. You have your own talent and they have their own. Don't look at what others can do because there are things that you can do which they can't."

After saying this, she once again turned to leave.

But she didn't expect for Emerald to actually pull her back once again, this time she looks like a crazed person.

"You have no right to tell me what I should and should not do," she seethed in anger before giving the pool a glance.

"I know, you are still scared of it. After all you were left to die by your own parents while saving their other daughter."

Amethyst was unable to react when Emerald pulled her hand and pushed her towards the water.

She thought she would plunge in but then another hand pulled her back by the waist, before she felt her back hitting a firm chest.

"You said you will just get some fresh air, why are you suddenly deciding to take a dive in this cold night?"

She looked up and saw Slate, but before she could say anything, he turned his eyes to Emerald.

"Are you really planning on ruining your image? If someone were to see you pushing someone in the pool, you would surely be in the headlines tomorrow. I have no idea why you are doing this but you should really change. Be grateful I am not the type that wants trouble. But I am warning you," he said to Emerald sharply before holding Amethyst's hand and leading her away from that place.

Emerald was left there stunned, she had finally snapped out of her crazed mind and could only watch Amethyst being pulled away by that man.

'He really didn't hear everything right? If he's here then that means that he is either an author or an editor. But his words indicated that he only saw me pushing her. But seeing as he left just like that, she must really be just accompanying him. She must not be an important person. I will still be fine.'

She made herself believe it that way not really knowing that Slate said those words in order for her not to look for either him or Amethyst for knowing that she was using Amethyst as a ghost writer without the latter's knowledge.

This is in order for her anger towards Amethyst not to increase due to her telling others of Emerald's true identity.
