This is something she had been meaning to point out ever since she had told him everything about her and her past.
She stood up, ready to leave him on his own but as she turned around, he grabbed her wrist.
"Stay…"
Was all he said before slowly hugging her waist.
Since he was sitting down, his face was leaning on her stomach.
She raised her hand and patted his head, slowly and gently.
His arms around her waist tightened as she did this and she felt her shirt getting damped.
She looked up at the sky and at the stars that are twinkling brightly.
'You have given us a chance to meet and this chance gave us a chance to heal as well. That is why we will never curse at you or blame you for anything. Instead I am thanking you for letting us heal and become stronger.'
They stayed in that position for who knows how long, she just silently accompanied him as he finally released his emotions that was bottled up for so long.

The next day, she was staring blankly at the screen of her laptop.
With Slate's reaction the night before means one thing, that Scarlet's body has deteriorated a lot that she was really close.
She snapped out of her thoughts when she heard a knock on the table.
"Did you hear me?" he asked her.
They were acting normal as if what happened last night didn't happen at all.
"Hear what?" she asked.
He sighed, "I am asking if you are done with what you are doing and if you will be coming back with me."
He will be going back tomorrow and so he had asked what Scarlet had asked him to do before he left.
"Oh… uhmmm…"
"Think about it. If you are then we can return together, if you are still not ready then I'll go back first," he said seeing how lost she was.
She nodded her head before returning her eyes on the screen and the keyboard.
Does she really need to think more? To try more? She was able to overcome most of it for the past week.
And this was what was going on in her mind for the rest of the day while Slate stayed most of the time outside in the porch, enjoying the peace.
He was able to breath better now as compared to the past weeks where he was feeling heavier and heavier.
The cry last night helped him a lot, he just didn't expect that he would actually cry in the arms of a woman.
He wasn't allergic to them but because most of them would throw themselves at him, he just didn't want to associate with them any longer.
But Amethyst was different, she was someone who knew her boundaries.
She wasn't the one who approached him first and despite him being the one to come close from time to time, she wasn't someone who would take advantage of it.
There are others who were like her and they are the ones he was comfortable to work with.
But maybe because she knew him better now, that her support he never thought they would get was the greatest thing he had received in befriending her.
He glanced at her through the window and thought of what he and Scarlet could have done if she didn't come to their life and remained as someone who was simply their neighbor.
Would Scarlet have the chance she has now?
He took out his phone and seeing that he has signal, he called her.
"How are you?" he asked.
"Doing great, though the hospital food is really not up to my palate," Scarlet answered.
After that silence followed.
"You sound better," Scarlet said after a while.
"Sound better?"
"Yes, as if something heavy was lifted from you that your voice sound better," she explained.
"You threw me here for a reason other than checking on her," he asked with squinted eyes despite knowing that she couldn't see him.
Scarlet smiled as she looked outside the hospital window.
"Don't be too hard on yourself, you can let it go if you want. I won't stop you, no one would," she answered.
He shook his head and chuckled, "Love you, sis."
"I love you too little brother," she replied.
*****
"Are you sure about this?" he asked as he and Amethyst prepared to leave the next morning.
"I am quite better now, it is time to focus on your sister's project," she replied as she started the car.
He looked outside the window, it was not even the break of dawn yet but Amethyst said there is some place she wanted to go to before leaving.
He just didn't expect that it would be a bit of a hike, good thing she reminded him to wear some rubber shoes.
Despite that, the view he saw was breath taking.
He had heard of the sea of clouds from Mount Pulag and this place but not once did he go to any of it.
He and Amethyst was planning on going up mount Pulag but he didn't expect that he would come here as well.
It was truly a beautiful place to be.
"We are lucky we get to be here at such a fine weather," she commented as the sun started rising.
"Yeah, it's beautiful."
When she glanced at him she couldn't help but smile, she could see that he was smiling more and more as compared to when they just started working together.
He furrowed his brows when he felt her look and when he looked back at her, he saw her looking at him with a smile.
"What is it?"
She shook her head, "Nothing, just thought that you are getting better."
He raised an eye brow at her, "As compared to you who was on the verge of killing herself. I think I am in a much better shape."
She laughed, "I know, I know. I really lost hope for anything back then. Something I really didn't want to look back to."
"We've gone far, haven't we?" she then asked.
"We have indeed," was his answer.
She took some pictures of the sea of clouds and a few more videos of the surrounding.
"Not gonna try using this place?" he asked referring to the book.
"Nope, mount Pulag is still the place she wants it to be. I just took this for reference and simply for the memory of being here the first time," she replied.
Soon they finally decided to return.
It was her who drove at first before he took the wheel, he just has to be careful because it is his first time driving on this road.
"It was a vacation I never thought I would enjoy," she commented as she looked outside the window.
"It was a good place after all."
"Not only that but how should I put it?... It healed me a lot? I never wanted to stay in a place where I would be alone most of the time because it just made me remember so many things about the past. But this time, the place actually didn't remind me of any of that. Instead it calms me down, not just my heart but even my mind that I get to start using the keyboard again after so long," she explained.
She didn't know why she was saying this to him but she just felt like it.
"I get to see myself growing from the me who run away," she added with a smile as she sighed in contentment.
'Ah, I get it out now. I was telling him this not because I just felt like it but because he and Scarlet are the ones who helped me take this step,' she thought before her smile became broader.
He, who didn't know what she was thinking, just thought that she just feels happy about things. And that is why her smile became broader.
