Time with Claire

[666]

The devil's number.

In the game, it was the birth of the first ancient devil beast.

This monster would be one of the main antagonist in the early part of the story.

Present time, the beast had just been brought up into Elysium.

It will need to take a few more years to mature. The canon will still start 7 years from now.

If possible, Ren wanted to end the beast's life before it becomes powerful. It was a pity, he doesn't know where it's located.

It was said that it would transfer from place to place. 7 years later is a different matter, since he would know where it will be sighted.

The battle may not come sooner at that time, but some of its follower will give some clues.

Most of all, the first encounter would be when you are doing a task for your school.

Fighting it early on would be suicide, so in the story only after the heroine learned her light magic. The magic that which is a bane to all darkness, would she finally have the chance on defeating the monster.

The monster itself was an embodiment of darkness. Darkness' weakness might be light, but that could also be said vice versa.

The novel and the game although has the same storyline, but there are some difference. In the novel, you will only follow one path, while in the game there are other options.

If you are rich and bought a lot of cash type items. It might be possible to beat the beast on the first encounter.

Of course, defeating it is no easy task.

...

"I don't have anything to worry about." Ren said. Freya was with him, and she was a character that could only be gotten in the later part of the story, a side story to be exact.

Comparing a character that was only receivable on the later part against the first antagonist that literally is still at the early stages.

Freya would kill that monster without any trouble. And he has 7 years left, he may even personally fight that monster on his own.

"What was that?" Freya asked while hoping for an answer. The two years they had spent in the illusory world, if that didn't happen she would not even hope of getting an answer from him.

After all, this was related to the mystery around him, suddenly knowing some information that no normal person would have.

"Hmm. A monster appeared on this world, nothing to worry about, though." It was relief for her. Ren answered.

"H-How did you know?" Freya stuttered a bit.

Ren looked at Freya and a grin formed, "Why? Curious?'

"Yes." Freya nodded.

"It's... a secret." Ren made a shush sign.

"Humph." Freya snorted, but there was a smile on her face. It was a step forward, at least.

"Oh, can you pinpoint the center of the earthquake, by any chance?" Ren asked.

"No. If you had told me sooner, I could've when it was still happening." Freya shook her head.

"Well, it doesn't matter either way." If he didn't have Freya, that beast would be a matter of importance.

Right now. He doesn't have time to bother and think with those things that are not a threat to him. There are still quite many individuals that could pose a threat even with Freya by his side.

If he had gotten Aphrodite, which he sadly didn't. He could've relax more easier.

Gods... are one of the end game enemy.

"It would still take a lot of years. And the story is light-hearted, so tragic things happening is rare. Oh, is this a flag I just triggered? Well, it doesn't matter. I'll just destroy it."

...

Ren went back to sleep, dreamed about a white haired goddess.

The goddess in his dream was actually beside him in reality, he just didn't know.

When Ren woke up, a butler knocked on his room.

The household seems to already know that he came back, Claire might have told them. It was the reason why he was going to be called for breakfast.

At least, they still have the tiniest bit amount of respect and care, which he didn't need.

"I know, I'm awake. Give me a minute." Ren said so before the butler could even speak.

...

Washed his face, took care of his hygiene, then changed his clothes. Ren went out.

At the dining table.

Ren greeted his good father and little brother. He's being sarcastic, but they didn't notice.

Of course, he greeted Claire with a smile.

Ren could only shake his head to the care shown by his father that could be described as abysmal. Maybe he could ask for the sake of it, right?

'Is this guy really a noble? I don't think it's proper to be that obvious. What would other people think of you. Sigh. I'm glad I immediately took over this body. If not, a child probably won't live long in this circumstances.

As cliche as it is. The noble of this world are really a bunch assholes, a commodity in stories. There are quite a few household who still follow their Noblesse Oblige, but those nobles are at the top.

Knowing this, I guess the true nobility of this world has still not faded. It was good.'

Ren took a bit of rest to digest the food.

He then went to Claire's living quarters.

"Yes? What are you here for, Ren?" Claire welcomed him inside.

"I'm planning to take a rest in practicing magic. I wonder if mother has any good idea of what should I do?" Ren asked. Honestly, he was mentioning it because he wanted to spend time with her.

This was also a way for him to return back what she had done for him.

"Oh my? Is that so. That's good. You need to take a rest once in a while." Claire was happy, a beaming smile was plastered on her face.

Claire thought for a bit before adding.

"How about accompanying mother to the capital? I recently heard that there is going to be a festival."

"Okay, I'll do as you say." Ren nodded with a smile.

"Good. Get ready, we'll be heading out now."

"Eh, right now? Right this instant?"

"Yes! A chance to rest only comes rarely, we need to make the best of it."

"Oh... Well, I'm already ready."

"Alright. Let's get going."
