the world to which we belong

the Ferryman is in the 'elevator' at this moment. the receptionist is reading a book on her desk. the Ferryman isn't alone. he is with some bodyguards. he is looking at a tablet with information about this world.

the Ferryman looks into the news about Richie Rubio's murder. he looks at the receptionist. she tells him that it was 'Romeo' letting him know that the murderer was Master of Lies. the Ferryman swallows saliva as he looks deeper into the information.

the receptionist asks him in curiosity for his constant use of the 'elevator' to go to the mortal world. the Ferryman feels uneasy with that question. he has nothing to say and he has a lot to hide from the others.

the receptionist asks him if they are going to 'kill' a certain mortal. she is not the curious type of person nor she cares about what happen inside of the G realm. the reason she asks is because of certain things that are not meant to happen.

the Ferryman lets her know that she doesn't need to know about the things that are taking place in the mortal world and inside of the G realm. he tells her that are things that are more dangerous when are told to more than one person.

he also informs her that the mortal that needs to be 'kill' isn't ready jet. but soon, really soon he is going to be ready to fulfill his part in all this mess. the Ferryman is afraid of committing a mistake. a false step can cost him his life.

the receptionist keeps readying without asking anything else. she isn't a Deity unlike most of the being who live in this world. even when she isn't a Deity she uses the 'elevator' to transport the mortals to the different floors in which they are meant to play.

she is also in charge of taking the Deities to the mortal world by using the 'elevator' as a door in between the mortal world and this other world. of course she can only take to the mortal world a Deity who has an official pass to leave this other world otherwise she could be committing a crime.

of course because the Ferryman since ancient times has been in charge of guiding the souls of the dead he is an exception to the law. he can go to the mortal world as many times as he wants to, but if he is not careful enough he can be frame of treason. other Deities with similar jobs as his had been framed of treason and the outcome is death.

the Ferryman has a few allies. some are Deities from another Cultures/Mythologies and others are Deities from the Greek Mythology. but his most important allies are the Receptionist in charge of the 'elevator', one of the 'Offerings' and Richie who is now dead. losing an ally is dangerous in this line of work.

no one might know, not even Pandora. but Richie use to leave hidden messages on every book that he published. those hidden messages were for the Ferryman to received. in the last book he published he let the Ferryman know that he was going to be murder soon by a personal enemy. the Ferryman didn't understood the message until now that he received the news of Richie's murder.

"curse be the land I walk on, another comrade that goes down leaving me with an inner cleaning to do in my secretive circle of comrades and enemies. I am tired of living as a sidekick to others or a minor symbol from the past."

said the Ferryman feeling furious.

yesterday on the morning. Master of Lies is with his teammates taking a break on the beach (yes somehow there is a beach that Zeus created for the mortals to enjoy on their vacation day.) because the team is full of macho males they are drinking, eating, and playing on their underwear.

Oblivious Soul-Rage wanted to be on his Adam clothing but most of the guys were against that idea because they knew that other guilds might also go to the beach and it can be uncomfortable for the others.

Mad-M with most of the guys was playing volleyball against a Hero Guild. Mad-M and the rest of idiots took the game too serious and their facial expressions were perfect for Oblivious Soul-Rage to make fun of them.

Quick Kill-Man was lying on the sand reading a book that he likes a lot. he looks at everyone else enjoying of their vacations playing around, joking, drinking liquor like if it was water, and eating like pigs. the only person who didn't fit in the picture was Master of Lies who was standing on the shore of the beach like a soulless man.

Quick Kill-Man stands up as he walks directly towards Master of Lies. he asks him if there is anything that is hurting him at the moment. Master of Lies sighs as he keeps looking directly at the water.

Master of Lies confesses that he isn't an 'Offering.' he admits that he isn't especial nor anything like that. the reason he was never accepted as an 'Offering' is because he was unqualified and he wanted to be on the game for a really especial reason.

Quick Kill-Man wanted to know more, jet there was an inner voice telling him that he will regret it if he knows more of what he needs to know. Quick Kill-Man felt his curiosity knocking.

"do you really want to know."

"isn't the saying about the cat getting killed by his curiosity a warning from ancient times about how the curiosity can take a man to his tombstone?"

"there are many sayings. most of them are warning about specific times or situations. the thing that hasn't change with the times and the world is one thing in particular. having knowledge is a sword of double edge. it doesn't matter about what concept we speak in particular if you have knowledge about something important then you are holding a sword that can protect you or drag you to hell."

"then tell me that information that you are so desperate to reveal to me."

"if you listen well to the rules there are secret missions that can make you leave the game without finishing it. in reality those secret missions or tasks are an unofficial way to forfeit the game. the Gods are never going to tell you the truth, but the truth is that when you finish and win the game you don't only win your life back, but you are also compensate with a wish. with the power of the Deities they will make real the wish of the winners of the game."

"how is that I never heard of that?"

"because the only ones who know about this are those who survived a game once. when a game is won, those who didn't make it are send to another game with this knowledge as an advantage over the new players."

"fuck, a double edge sword indeed."

later on the other side of the city, on the Zeus' Tower. Zeus is on his office with his brother Hades. Pandora is also in there with them.

Pandora is dressed in black as she in mourning after the homicide of her loyal right hand. Pandora is pale with a lifeless look on her face. she suffered so much after hearing of what her beloved Federico did to her friend.

Zeus and Hades are playing chess. Hades and Zeus are a competitive duo. they are like little kids trying to prove to each other who is the best brother among them. Zeus ask a secretary for an ice coffee and he asks his brother if he is interested in one.

Hades is suspicious of him and he lies about been full. Zeus loves to play with his brother (he is not planning on poisoning his bro, but of course if he tells him that he cares for him it won't be fun anymore.) Hades tells him that 'him' wants to get out to play.

Zeus tells to his brother to convince 'him' to stay hidden until the last phase of the game. Hades swallows saliva knowing that is too hard to have control over 'him'. the person they all talking about is a powerful God.

"if I can be honest brother, you are asking too much from me. the reason why I took the deal was for lack of entertainment. jet this whole thing isn't as entertaining as it is tiring."

said Hades feeling anxious.

Zeus laughs loudly. he asks Pandora for her opinion. she is quiet looking at him with an empty gaze. she is still gravely affected by the lost of her best friend. she tells to Zeus that she is going to get 'his head on a stick.'

Zeus feels bad for her. there is nothing that he can do for her . there is no way for him to help her at the moment without interfering with the game. he has to led the game continue with its natural order until the end.

"I know it was hard for you to lose such a loyal man, he was with you for so long... but you are forgetting that you are dealing with Deities like ourselves. in this world that we live in everyone dies before us. you were the first creation, but you were never human."

said Hades expecting that his wisdom will help her recover her reasoning.

Pandora looks at him for a moment. she looks down at the floor. she is feeling hurt because her friend died at the hands of her babe. she feels terrible because she feels the guilt of trusting in the wrong man, she is even thinking about him right now.

she feels like she is betraying her friend every time that she thinks about Federico with desire. she wishes to kiss him and to hold him tight in between her arms even when he has committed murder & treason.

is love this dangerous? why does love turns you into a blind person unable to see the danger ahead of the tunnel? there are many things that she wants to say. at the moment all she can do is to hide those wrongful feelings of affection towards a coward who chose to betray and kill for his own convenience.

"it was so hard for me to believe when I was told that my best friend was murder by my former lover. how can love be so sickening? how can something that is born out of a garden of pink roses can become the darkest cloud in the sky?"

said Pandora wishing for them to believe that she is crying to Richie and not to Federico.

later on the middle of the most luxurious restaurant; Femina Lorem, Ridere, Rotto Mentalita and Frigus are having a secret meeting.

Frigus is on dangerous waters as he is playing for two different sides at the same time. he is now listening to everything that those on important positions on their Guilds have to say. he might gave them some information about the Hero guilds to keep himself safe and he might reveal some of the things they are saying.

Femina Lorem doesn't like either Man with nor Face or Master of Lies. she wants to eliminate them. sadly that is her personal feelings towards them. the Happy Face Cult is a group that acts and thinks as a group. if the others are okay with them, then she has no power to touch them.

Ridere is only in here because the boss send him to take care of Femina and to make sure that she doesn't do something stupid. she is so impulsive that most of the members are unsure of how is that she is still part of their guild. Ridere knows how powerful on combat Femina can be. but she isn't half of what Ridere can be.

Rotto Mentalita is a smart man who is always thinking with his head cold. he is not a fighter, but he knows how to defend himself. if he is on the place that he is, is not only because of his capacity to think fast in difficult times, it is also because he can be a monster when is about fighting.

Frigus tells them that he has things to solve with his people. he stands up and then he walks away with some useful information for his people. he knows that the game is just starting and that at some point he might even lose everyone important to him.

Ridere and Rotto Mentalita are talking about their plans to destroy one or two Hero guilds. Femina yields calling them 'boring.' she tells them that planning without fighting is boring. she is a person who resolves every conflict with violence.

"I have to retreat. my men are waiting for me and there are things only I can solve. if you want to know what I think about them, well here is my opinion. stay away from Western Legends and their sidekicks led by Master of Lies. our only solution can be either to attack those 'Heroes' who are too strong for their own good or to just wait and see what is the future preparing for us."

said Rotto Mentalita with honesty as he leaves.

"are you afraid of that man?"

asks Ridere expecting him to refuse those accusations.

"mmmm..... I could be indeed afraid of that man, and you should be."

said Rotto Mentalita avoiding eye contact.

Rotto Mentalita leaves. Ridere is left alone with Femina and some questions about the man who many see as a real monster. Femina is hungry. she asks Ridere for his permission to eat the food that the others didn't touch.
