Chapter 29: The Abnormality

"Yuki-kun, my honey~"

Their morning seemed to arrive quite early. Yuki blinked in confusion. Judging from the chillness, he could say it was too early - probably around 4 am. He pressed his talking clock at the bedside drawer, and it confirmed the time was only 4.30 am.

"Dear, you're up a little too soon again," Yuki grazed over Ryohei's hair and face. "Do you feel uneasy?"

"Hmm," Ryohei wrapped Yuki in his arms and purred, asking Yuki to pamper him, "I'm hungry."

"Eh?" Yuki did not know that Ryohei could get awoken from sleep just because of hungriness. "Do you want to eat? I'll cook for you."

"No, no," Ryohei tightened his cuddle, "I want to cook, and I want you to accompany me."

Yuki giggled at Ryohei's childishness. He liked how Ryohei behaved towards him. It felt like Ryohei really appreciated him, and wanted him to look solely on the receiver. Ryohei lured Yuki to treat him, spoiling him too much. Including this morning, it has been his fifth days of waking up to Ryohei's calling, but it was their first time of getting up to eat.

Ryohei brought Yuki in bridal style to the dining table. From there, the distance to the kitchen was close enough that Ryohei could watch Yuki fron within. They could chat while Ryohei cook too.

"Smells nice," Yuki sniffed in, "What do you cook? Rice? At 5 am?"

"Mhmm," Ryohei hummed a song Yuki loved, "I made this for both of us. Well, I'm hungry."

"This shocks me somehow," Yuki heard Ryohei walking to the dining table. The steps were getting louder. Seconds later, an aroma of fried rice sipped into his smelling sensor.

They had their own plates of fried rice cooked by Ryohei. However, Ryohei finished up his plate too early. Yuki was a slow eater, yet it took only three mouthful of Yuki's food when he heard Ryohei's cutlery was put down.

"You finished already?" Yuki ogled at believably Ryohei. "That was fast!"

"Well, I'm hungry," said Ryohei and propped his chin, fixating his eyes to stare at the nervous Yuki. "Take your time. I'll wait."

"But, but," Yuki was munching his food, "Tomorrow you're working, and delaying more time will cause you to get up late."

Naturally, Ryohei ruffled through Yuki's smooth and shiny hair. Even though he had bed hair, it was not too bad at all. He could straighten it back with just fingers. Ryohei loved to see Yuki eating deliciously. However, he just noticed one thing.

"I just realize you have cheeks," Ryohei pinched them with both hands.

"I always do," Yuki replied with his full mouth, "Please stop. I don't want to spit at you."

Ryohei burst to laugh. "You're eating, yes. I will stop."

Yuki grunted because Ryohei kept on teasing him in any ways possible. But he did not dislike it. The treatment Ryohei displayed was the result of their mutual feelings, and it felt more real as time went by.

"I've finished eating," Yuki announced after delaying 15 minutes to sleep. "But I don't think I could sleep right after eating."

Ryohei picked up Yuki's dishes and brought them to the sink. "It's okay. Don't force yourself."

After Ryohei has done the washing, he, again, carried Yuki in bridal style to their bed. He neatened the blanket covering Yuki's body, and made himself cosy on his own side.

"You don't have to wait for me, my dear. Just sleep, all right?" Yuki drew himself close to Ryohei and when he was convinced the exact spot, he landed a peck on Ryohei's forehead.

And only then he figured out one thing.

"You're burning!" Yuki quickly lifted up his head and put his back hand at Ryohei's neck and chest. "You're sweating and your heart's pumping faster than usual."

"Am I? No, I'm not," Ryohei pushed Yuki's hand away and patted his chest, "Well, you look so sexy with just this thin pyjama."

Yuki squinted at the lover. "Don't change the topic, will you? Don't move," Instead of checking on Ryohei's other body parts, Yuki rose and paced to the kitchen.

Ryohei watched him walking cautiously from the kitchen, bringing a bowl of cold water with two pieces of folded cloth. Due to his blindness, he would like to avoid any mess by spilling the water or such, hence he paced slower than before. As for Ryohei, ever since Yuki realized his rising body temperature, he automatically felt head ache and feeble. He could not maintain his eyes from staying open and he could not talk loudly. Anything he did would worsen the head ache, thus he chose to stay quiet.

"I'm so sorry, my dear," Yuki sat by the bedside and checked on Ryohei's body, "I didn't realize it sooner. I'm sorry, I'm not a good over."

There were sobs in between Yuki's breaths. Ryohei felt bad for being able to only see. He really wanted to tug Yuki into his arms, pleasing the fiancee to pamper him more. He could really sense his heavy head limited his movement, thus he could only remain silent. Yuki wetted one of the clothes and wrung it before putting it on Ryohei's forehead.

"You don't have to apologize, my honey," After gathering his remaining energy, Ryohei whispered hoarsely. "It's not your fault. I don't know why I got fever either."

Yuki did not react to Ryohei. He wetted another clothes and wiped Ryohei's body - starting from the neck to the shoulders, the chest, the arm pits, the arms, and the back. He wiped those parts first since Ryohei refused to put off his pants. Yuki repeatedly wiped Ryohei's body until the blanket had wet spots.

"My dear," After minutes of silence, Yuki said in his stutters, "I don't know how to take care of sick person, but this is what I do when I fall sick. A little different to you," It was his first time of handling an unhealthy Ryohei. Ryohei has been the energetic one all these while, so Yuki was almost clueless on managing the lover. "I hope you'll get well soon."

"This is more than enough, honey," Ryohei smiled a little, "I'm sorry for burdening you."

"You're not burdening me, my dear," Yuki touched the cloth on Ryohei's forehead. It was getting dried up by Ryohei's warmness. "This is all I could do for you. I can't do much due to my blindness, but I will still work on whatever I can."

Yuki removed the cloth from Ryohei and brought it together with the bowl of water when Ryohei mumbled, "Honey, please don't leave me."
