This is why they looked at her as she composed herself on the seat, before she turned to look at them, like a mother who was ready to get their children out of poverty.

"It was Alexander. All this while, it was always him. He was the first one to pull that shit, and he was the cause of the whole ripple. It was his fault and for all these years, he thought we would never find out. But I did.

"All the efforts finally paid off, Nik," Lia said to Nik and her siblings. They had all been so invested in Lia's plans, but none more than Nikolai Orlov, the man she had met in his aunt's Judo all those years ago.
